The Keys to Awakening and Ascension, Part II

This is Part II of a two Part blog. Go to my blog entry of 01/11/10 for Part I.

How can you live your life not knowing who you ARE?

It is the most important question you can ask yourself. It is the most important quest you can embark on in your life. And it is precisely why you have incarnated this time.

Your purpose in coming forth in this dimension at this time is to come to truly, finally and completely "Know Thy Self." To finally without a scintilla of a doubt know who you ARE so that you can embody and experience that "knowing" throughout the rest of your eternity.

In other words you have come forth this time to totally "get" this lesson and to then move on to greater and greater experiences and realizations of the Love of God/Goddess.

For each one of you the process of getting the answer to the question of "Who AM I?" will be different. So, there is no one way to find the answer nor is there the same answer for every one.

But as you ask the question, you begin to eliminate who you are not and then eventually you come to know who you are.

You will know that you are there, that is, that you have found the answer, when you have stopped asking the question. For there is no answer to the question of ´"Who AM I." Actually, there is not even the question. There is just the profound experience of your Self as God/Goddess.

And when that "knowing" comes over you, you know you "know" who you are and why you are, but it no longer matters!

For now you have found your Self and all your questions have now turned into answers.

So, what was once a big "WHY" no longer matters. And the big "WHY" has now turned into a big "Y" that stands for and sees it all as one big "YES!"

So, seek ye first your Self and all will be added!

NB Please do think about what you have just read, just "feel" it; don't think it and you then will "know" if it resonates with you.

This is Part II of a two part blog.

The Keys to Awakening and Ascension, Part I

Actually, becoming awakened is very simple. Just learn how to "be present" with your Self and this will allow you to be "awakened" to who you really are. As well, it will help you to know all you need to know about your current life circumstances and about others.

But what does "being present" with your Self really mean? It means just sitting and listening to your self. Listening initially to the dissonance of fear, anger and confusion that by default keeps running in your mind; and then letting all that static fade away so that finally, in the Silence, you get to hear your real Self.

And there, in the presence of your Self, you know you "know" and then you are finally, truly, and irrevocably free from all the limiting beliefs that block you from knowing and "being" who you ARE.

It is in this place and space of communion, connection and Embrace that you will find the answer to the most important question you could ever ask of yourself: "Who AM I?" And the answer that you find will be one that will help you to realize and take ownership of the fact that you are loved, whole, and free and that you have eternal value!

For this precisely is what awakening really is--knowing who you really ARE in all your magnificence and splendor! "Being present" with your Self is the key that will help you to open the doors to the mystery and majesty of who you really are.

This will allow you to enter the Kingdom of Heaven, Nirvana, Valhalla, the place that is your true domicile, your real home--a place of profound love, truth, and wisdom.

So, just sit with your Self for awhile each day this week and ask that you can come to "Know Thy Self!" Ask sincerely and "be present" to listen; and believe me, all the forces of Heaven will come to your side to assist you.

Doing this is a marvelous opportunity to be present with your "most significant other"--your Self!

How can you live your life not knowing who you ARE?

Suffering Teaches Us How to Become Masters of Love, Part VI

This is Part VI of a six part blog. In order to understand and make best use of what follows, please see my previous entries of 11/30/09 for Part I, of 12/07/09 for Part II, of 12/14/09 for Part III, of 12/21/09 for Part IV and of 12/28/00 for Part V.

Love is the only gold.
Tennyson

Below are a series of affirmations or phrases I have created and use to help me to stay in a place of unconditional Love:

Be assured that if you follow anyone other than your Self, you will surely get lost.

Take the time to really "listen" to your Self and all will become crystal clear.

God/Goddess loves you no matter what because in doing so, He/She loves Him/Herself.

Don't take your life's experiences personally, these experiences are not who you ARE! They are just steps on your path to Awakening! You ARE so much more!

Hang in there! You CAN do it! And actually you ARE doing it!

Trust the process and most importantly Trust your Self!

Fear is the ultimate illusion. Empowerment the ultimate Truth!

It's all a series of conclusions about a series of delusions.

When you appreciate something, you allow yourself to fully receive it!

Rather than "making the best of it," "make it the best!"

Love is being unconditionally present for yourself and another!

Make your Life a Meditation, not a Race; Proceed at the Speed of Grace and Trust.

In conclusion I would like to share a channeled passage from Kryon:

There seems to be so much sorrow on the planet. Can you work within the framework of the test before you? Can you put on your armor and shields of sacredness and walk through the sorrow, fear and disappointment of what other Humans have done, without judgment of them or without being discouraged? The more light you carry, the more you will see that which is sorrowful on Earth. Only the masters can "see" these things as reasonable within the scheme of why you're here. It is important that the Lighthouses are not distracted by the storms as they shine their lights. Otherwise, they become useless.

So, it is so, so important to not let your ego determine the perspective you have on the experiences you or others are having.

Please remember to go into meditation regularly and quiet your mind and open your heart so that you might allow the wisdom, love and light of your Higher Self to illuminate and reveal the path before you!

May you dwell Peace!

The gift that suffering bestows upon us is that it teaches us how to become Masters of Love!

Suffering Teaches Us How to Become Masters of Love, Part V

This is Part V of a six part blog. In order to understand and make best use of what follows, please see my previous entries of 11/30/09 for Part I, of 12/07/09 for Part II, of 12/14/09 for Part III and of 12/21/09 for Part IV.

Love is the only gold.
Tennyson

So, when you can unconditionally accept everything and everyone, you have learned the ultimate lesson of what Love is all about. It is in this state of acceptance that the illusions of lack, insufficiency, fear, and inadequacy all disappear and the reality of your beauty, majesty, wisdom, power and eternal value become very clear and bright.

All that you previously interpreted with your ego's eyes as failure and "suffering" is now seen as just steps leadings you out of the illusion of your separateness and aloneness and instead into the realms of Oneness, Light and Love that your Higher Self or Soul dwells in eternally.

Even the Awakened One, the Buddha, said:

It is hard to be born a human being,
and hard to live the life of one.
It is even harder to hear of the path;
and harder still to awake, to rise and to follow.

But once all this "suffering" is seen as the illusion that it really is, then the true Light of who you really are finally awakens within you and then you can own, know, integrate and embody it in a way that it becomes you and you become IT.

So, let go of your ego's desire to have things always go your way, i.e. the way you "think" they should--that is, the way your ego mind wants them to go. Let your Soul instead be in the driver's seat.

Let go of the need to hold onto things that are already as you desire so they will continue to be what you want. Believe me, they never will remain the same. The only constant in this universe is "change."

Let go of trying to control others, you never will!

Let go of your fears, projections, illusions and defenses.

Let go of the need to make others wrong or right or to judge them.

Just dwell in the Light of your Soul by sitting in meditation and all will be revealed to you! "Be still and know!" Listen to the "still, small voice within!" It will lead you to your true Self.

Love is the only gold.

Love is not an emotion; it is a state of being. It is a state of acceptance and profound understanding. It sees all experiences with the heart of unconditionality and it knows that all is in Divine Order and that all is moving towards the Highest Good.

Love from the ego has emotions attached. Love from the soul, does not. That's what it's all about: learning how to develop the "detached," "impersonal," and "open" heart. The heart and mind that are free from the fears, illusions and false beliefs that distort reality.

Many equate the word love with the human emotion that many mistake as and for love. Unconditional Love is a state of being and not an emotion. It is a stable, harmonious and balanced state through which there can be no judgment, no fear, no indecision, and no uncertainty. It is a pure state of acceptance, trust and knowing. It is a Soul state, not a mind state.

Come out of the circle of time into the circle of love.
Rumi

This state of love is not a denial of reality, but rather an acceptance and true appreciation of it! It is an understanding that all of life is an eternal journey into a greater and greater ability to love, appreciate and embrace more and more of one's experiences and more and more of the Universe!

Love is the only gold.
Tennyson

Our purpose here on this planet is not to acquire information and "things," but to learn how to really love. And so when we are at our lowest and yet are still able to reach up to love, reach within to love and reach out for love, we then truly will have mastered what Love is all about. For by reaching out for love, we shed light into the darkness. We turn chaos into order. We transform lead into gold. We truly tap into the essence of love and become the Master Alchemist! We turn all our "suffering" or our illusions into Gold!

If in the depths of despair you seek Love's guidance and surrender fully to its loving embrace, then truly you have learned what it means to have "Love" and that "knowing" will remain with you and continue to grow within you throughout eternity.

Love gives eternity and meaning to life--nothing else can or does. But if, on the other hand, you just make love an intellectual exercise, you learn nothing about love and are left empty and unfulfilled.

So, when your body is not functioning well, but you can still love it, you then have learned what it means to love unconditionally.

When your best friend or lover has left you and yet you can still love yourself, you have learned how to truly love yourself.

When you finances have bottomed out, but you can still appreciate the wonder and beauty of life and of yourself and still know that you are good and can thrive, you have learned what it means to love.

And when another has harmed you and you can still love them and yourself, truly you have learned what love is.

Suffering Teaches Us How to Become Masters of Love, Part II

This is Part II of a six part blog. In order to understand and make best use of what follows, please see my previous entry of 11/30/09 for Part I.

I am not afraid of storms,
for I am learning how to sail my ship.
Louisa May Alcott

We create our reality. Everything that "happens to us" is part of a master plan or blueprint that is helping us to "become," grow and heal in ways that will truly allow us to develop and manifest all the potential within us. Truly, all is in Divine Order and Divine Timing and as we learn to look at our experiences through the eyes and heart of our Soul and not through the myopic vision of our ego, we get to see the bigger picture and put it all into proper context and perspective.

It is our Soul that is leading us into the experiences that It knows will help us to truly come to know who we really are in the quickest and, believe it or not, the least painful way possible. Whether we presently get it or not, what looks, to our ego, like a long and torturous path, is really the shortest route to a true understanding and picture of who we really are.

Seeing our experiences through our Soul's perspective will lead us away from where our limited awareness is presently focused to an unlimited, eternal and infinite vision of who we really are and will put into perspective why we are experiencing what we are experiencing.

So, it is those who have experienced the greatest sense of loss and suffering in their lives who have risen to the greatest heights and depths of wisdom and love.

What is to give light must endure burning.
Victor Frankl

Suffering Teaches Us How to Become Masters of Love, Part I

This is Part I of a six part blog,

In the depth of winter,
I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer.
Albert Camus

The gift that suffering provides us is that it teaches us how to become Masters of Love! But how you might ask?

That which we call "suffering" is an experience we create for ourselves so that we can refine or increase our ability to love ourselves, love another and love the whole of the creation. When we "suffer" we ultimately feel abandoned and alone. As well, we feel that we are unworthy and unlovable. But all of this is just the ultimate illusion, an illusion that has us believing that we are somehow separate from God/Goddess and somehow undeserving of His/Her love.

We are meant to have dominion over or be the stewards or nurturers of all of creation. But that dominion or stewardship is not one of "possession," but it is a stewardship of love. It is the dominion of one who is the caretaker and caregiver. It is not a "hording of things," but it is a stewardship of nurturing and caring for all. And the way that we earn that dominion is to be more and more able to love, appreciate, nurture and embrace it all, no matter what.

But how does one learn to "love/appreciate" it all, no matter what.

Most of us believe that suffering is something that is inflicted upon us by an outside force. Whether it is illness, financial ruin, relationship issues, natural disasters, etc., we see ourselves as a "victim" of circumstances.

The problem with this way of looking at the experiences you are having is that by seeing yourself as a "victim," you are giving away your ownership of the situation and are therefore, giving away your "power" to change it.

Create a New Vision/Vibration for Yourself! Part IV

The reason most people achieve very little in comparison to what they are capable of is because they have no vision for themselves or their future, whatsoever. They feel that they are at the whim of others or at the whim of some outside force like of the Lords of Karma. But they definitely are not!

You are the captain of your ship! You are the Master of your fate!

So, create the Vision, i.e., the Vibration, and the Universe will match it. It already is doing this, whether it is happening for you consciously and volitionally or whether it is happening by default!

So, what is your dominant Vision or self-image? Release your old, worn, stagnant, crystalized, and mutated visions and Embrace the New You!

You are made in His/Her Image! Learn to reflect your Divinity, your True Image!

"Without a vision, the people will perish." "Without a vision, you will perish."

So, take the time to both write down a general vision for yourself over the next five years and then go into meditation and get a picture and a feeling of how you would look and feel when you have already achieved all that you have written down; and then come back to that image and feeling whenever you think about your life.

You are the artist who is now creating your own self-portrait. You are the author who is writing the script of your life.

Take the time to create the most beautiful and satisfying portrait and script that you can imagine. Then keep refining and defining it. And then hold that image of yourself in the foreground of your awareness all the time. This is what creation is all about.

Peace and Joy be with you! It is your birthright.

Create a New Vision/Vibration for Yourself! Part III

So, you must first honestly and lovingly "Face" yourself (i.e., your thoughts and feelings) and then "Embrace" them (accept what you find) and then you can begin to gradually "Replace" them with a clear vision of who you really are and what you really want to create in your life and with your life.

Every time you have a thought or a feeling you are creating or drawing to your self something new from the universe and bringing it into your reality. You do not have to base your expectations for the future upon your past experiences, your perceived weaknesses, or anything else that reinforces your present, limited self-image. You no longer need to use your past as your frame of reference for your future, unless, of course, your past is filled with good.

By creating a clear vision of your desired state and putting energy (i.e. focus) into it regularly, you are using your mind (i.e. vibrational) power to shape the very stuff or essence of the universe into what you want.

So, to summarize, you hold this "imagined reality" in your mind to the point where your subconscious actually believes it to be so real that it goes about making it manifest in your life. Once you have this clear image in your mind, your subconscious will then attract the circumstances, people, and opportunities you need to bring about the vision you have "imagined."

Or, on the other hand, if you are not connected to a clear positive image, and are in a negative default mode of thinking and feeling, you will then attract the nightmare you dread!

Create a New Vision/Vibration for Yourself! Part II

So, one very important thing to do is to have a crystal clear vision of your life as you want it to be; one that is completely independent of the conditions of your present or your past.

Lack of absolute clarity about your desired future is the number one reason why people struggle in life.

That is why it is so, so important to take the time to get in touch with what you actually feel and think about your life and yourself. If you find some of it to be critical and uncomplimentary, then begin to change it.

The best way I know of to do this is to simply sit in meditation and listen to the predominant thoughts and feelings that arise. By the way, you can't just sit one time to get the full picture, but if you sit consistently with yourself, within just a few weeks, you will get a pretty clear picture of what your predominant thoughts and feelings are. Then because of this awareness, or "mindfulness" as the Buddhists call it, you will now be more conscious of what you are vibrating and, therefore, more able to change it.

After you have taken the time to really see your patterns, it then becomes easier for you to create a clear vision about your future and a practical plan for success.

But until you have taken the time to look within, you literally are in the "dark" about yourself. And in the dark it is very difficult to see or create a vision for your self. You really do need to shed light on the darkness within in order to create something new without.

This is Part II of a four part blog.

Create a New Vision/Vibration for Yourself! Part I

The essence of all things and experiences is vibration. All our thoughts, feelings and actions have their own particular rates of vibration. These vibrations set up a resonance with whatever has a similar or identical frequency.

This is why it is so, so essential to be a very close observer of your thoughts and feelings. The way you think, feel and act creates the primary vibration of your being, i.e., your "energy signature." This fundamental "energy signature" then creates resonance with similar vibrational frequencies in the universe wherever they may be. The result is an attraction of experiences, people, challenges and opportunities that are in vibrational resonance with your own dominant frequency.

The fundamental law of "like attracts like" is immutable and eternal. Therefore, your dominant positive patterns of thought and action or your dominant negative enmeshments, entanglements, and projections are what you are living.

Thus, to draw what you want into your life, you begin by being very aware of your thoughts and feelings, i.e., your vibration. And then you make a practice of raising your vibration to match the desire or experience you want, no matter what. Most people do things the other way around. They come up with practical techniques to generate their desires and then go out and try to force them into manifestation.

However, when what you are seeking is not really in agreement deep down inside you with your dominant vibration, then you will have great difficulty making the desired result come to pass. In other words, if you want to have more money in your life, but you feel deep down inside unworthy, undereducated and unskilled, you will never attract more money into your life because you inherently do not believe it is possible for you.

The Spirit World: A Brief Description, Part II

On the other hand, if you went to "hell," you would see that there is very little of the light of God there; and the inhabitants tenaciously still hold on to their warped earthbound ego-centered personalities. Actually all the negativity of the lower self is amplified in these realms. All the fearful, angry thoughts, self-centered traits, and controlling and manipulative ways are heightened. It is a very low energy, ugly place. Surprisingly those in these "hells" gain a certain pleasure in sustaining their infringing, restrictive world. Actually, they are so self-absorbed that they notice no one but themselves. It is a very lonely existence.

For instance, the miser remains in the corner of his room endlessly counting his money and zealously guarding it to make sure that no one can have any. Those from the higher realms visit regularly and project love and light to those in "hell." And occasionally one of those in the lower realms notices and gradually follows the Light to the next higher realm. And this continues until that individual has released his/her self-centered traits. The forces of Love and Light continually project their goodness and Love and gradually all will be drawn back into the Light.

A human being on earth is usually protected from these lowest of realms, but sometimes that protection breaks down either because of drug and alcohol abuse or extreme illness or emotional trauma. Also, some choose to dabble in these energies.

So, "we reap what we sow." Our life in the spirit word is not determined by Peter at the gates of judgment, but by our cumulative thoughts and actions while on earth. We are our own judge and jury. We determine our fate. We determine our experience. We determine our destiny.

Actually, we either live in "heaven" or in "hell" on earth, too, purely by the company we keep and the thoughts and emotions that are our most predominant. That is why it is so important to be conscious of the company we keep, be it in our thoughts or in our relationships.

We get to choose the realm we inhabit. What we see and experience is a vibrational match to what we think, believe and feel.

The Spirit World: A Brief Description, Part I

There are all kinds of realms or dimensions in the spirit world. These realms are divided by levels of consciousness. The population of one world is totally unaware of the inhabitants of the other worlds. The higher dimensions are filled with the Light and Love of God and are affirming and joyful. Other worlds are gray or very dark and permeated with evil, jealousy, anger and repression. These worlds are really low. As well, there are all kinds of other worlds that are somewhere in between these two.

Actually this mirrors the many different "worlds" that human beings inhabit on earth. My wife and I have often commented when we have visited a "foreign" country or an area of the United States or our neighborhood, for that matter, that we have never been to before that it certainly seems like we have entered whole new planet. Similarly those in spirit congregate according to similar interests and lifestyles. Like attracts like both in the physical plane and in the spiritual planes.

When you pass over, you go to whatever part of the spirit world that you are a vibrational match to. So, if you sincerely are a loving, giving and serving person, you will go to a dimension filled with like hearted people. If you are the opposite, you will join your comrades in negativity in some rather nasty place. I might add here that it is not what you say that determines where you go, but what is in your heart determines it.

So, let's say you went to a more "heavenly" area. There you begin to see yourself more and more in the Light and Likeness of God and gradually your view of yourself begins to change. In time you no longer identify yourself so much with your present personality and its characteristics and beliefs, but rather, as your ego identity fades in the Light, you begin to see yourself more and more as a part of the Divine whole, as Divine. You still have an individualized identity. It is you! But you now truly know yourself to be a part of the Whole and no longer a separate, disconnected entity.

This is part IV of a four part blog. Please see my last three blog entries on October 30, November 1 & 6 for parts I, II, & III.

It is in meditation where you can connect with the essence of your object of attention. It is in meditation where you can eavesdrop on your Self and on the God/Goddess within. It is in meditation where you can come to truly "Know ThySelf." Why not learn how to experience this sweet ambrosia of the gods? Why not learn how to experience your "Godness?"

As Yogananda wrote:

Meditation or consciousness focused upon itself is the ultimate revealer of who you really are, and what you truly are. You can discover an inner guidance within yourself, and that inner guidance will guide you to the destination you need to go. You have already been guided to many things which are opening you to be aware, but the greatest tool for self knowledge is Meditation.

Also, as Ramana Maharshi wrote:

Look! This little finger covers the eye and prevents the whole world from being seen. In this same way this small mind covers the whole universe and prevents Reality from being seen.

Lastly, this lovely sentence from "The Cloud of Unknowing" an anonymous medieval spiritual classic, sums it all up so beautifully:

By Love God may be gotten and holden, but by thought never.

So, learning how to still the mind through meditation helps one to learn how to truly listen to one Self and to another. It is in meditation that we access the essence and the heart of the matter, instead of getting all caught up in our heads and in the illusory surface appearance of things.

It is in meditation that we "see things clearly" and come to "know" ourselves and another. It is in this Silence where we can truly be present and Listen!

"Know Thy Self" by Learning How to "Listen" to Your Self, Part III

This is part III of a four part blog.

In order to learn how to Listen as I have described in my two previous blog entries, one must learn to quiet the mind through meditation. Meditation is the key to learning how to listen to your Self and to another.

The best passage that I have come upon to help one to understand what the state of meditation is and how it allows one to truly be able to Listen was written by Krishnamurti. In describing meditation he wrote:

Thought comes to an end. Then there is that sense of absolute silence in the brain. All the movement of thought has ended. It has ended, but it can be brought into activity when there is necessity in the physical world. Now, it is quiet. It is silent. And where there is silence, there must be space, immense space because there is no [little] self. The self has its own limited space; it creates its own limited space. But when the self is not, which means the activity of thought is not; then there is vast silence in the brain because it is now free of all its conditioning.

And it is only where there is space and silence that something new can be that is untouched by time or thought. That may be the most holy, the most sacred--may be. You cannot give it a name. It is perhaps the unnamable. And when there is that, then there is intelligence and compassion, and love. So life is not fragmented. It is a whole, unitary process, moving and living."
It is in this state of being that Krisnamurti describes above where one can be present and listening. It is a profound state of unity with one's object of attention; and it is a profound state of the heart. It bypasses the mind and all its myopic judgments.

This is why I have for years taught and promoted the sacred art of meditation. When you learn how to meditate you can truly focus on someone and truly listen because you are totally present. You are not in your head, but you are in your heart. You are sensing things from the inside out rather than just skimming the surface by thinking about them.

"Know Thy Self" by Learning How to "Listen" to Your Self, Part II

This is part II of a four part blog. Please see my last blog entry on October 30 for part I.

There are seven kinds or aspects to "Listening:"
1) "Listening" to another."
2) "Listening" to nature.
3) "Listening" to Spirit.
4) "Listening" to your physical body.
5) "Listening" to that part of us called the little self or the ego? That part that we often do not want to own or acknowledge, that we often wish to disinherit, despite the fact that it is has some very valuable things to say to us.
6) "Listening" to our Higher Selves.
7) "Listening" to the God/Goddess within.

All these aspects of Listening require the same skill, namely learning how to be quiet. Listening actually is not a cognitive process, it is not something we do with our minds; but something we allow or open up to with our hearts.

Listening is a receptive, open, allowing, feminine state; it is not an assertive, active, masculine state. When the mind is quiet, the heart can be open; and then it can "hear;" and then, as well, it can lead the way. The mind is meant to be the servant of the heart. The heart is meant to lead.

Don't analyze anyone or anything. When you do, you are using your mind and creating separation by judging, analyzing and compartmentalizing. Instead feel first.

Don't listen to words, instead feel their energy.

Don't judge a person; get a "feel: for them first.

Don't measure anything; just "feel" its energy.

Use your heart first and then let the mind help you integrate what the heart has felt. Feel first, think last! Then you will "know."

Stop thinking and start feeling! Leave your mind behind and put your heart first!

No longer think your way through life; feel your way through life.

Listening is a communion--a joining or merging with. It is not analysis or judgment.

"Know Thy Self" by Learning How to "Listen" to Your Self, Part I

This is part I of a four part blog.

Remember! When you are quiet, you can eavesdrop on God and on your Self!

In order to come to "Know Thy Self," one first must learn how to "Listen." For it is only by really knowing how to "Listen" that one can get "a handle one's 'Self.'" And it is only through "Listening" that we can be true to our Selves and live an empowered, passionate, fulfilled, joyful life.

Usually all we hear or listen to is the noise and static that our fearful, angry, worried ego mind produces; this noise effectively blocks out our ability to hear what is really important, what is at the core of who we are.

It is only by learning how to embrace the Silence, that we can hear anything important. It is only by being quiet that you can "hear" your Self, "hear" another, "hear" nature, "hear" Spirit, and "hear" the God/Goddess within. One must quiet the fretful ego mind in order to hear one Self and come to "know" one Self.

Silence is the language of God. Everything else is bad translation.
Thomas Keating

Silence is ancient. Silence has been in the space you are this very moment
for longer than anything else. It will remain after you leave
and exist long after all other things have faded.

Being "True to Your Self"--Live By Intuition and Inspiration

"Know Thyself!" This has been the clarion call of the Ancient Mystery Schools from time immemorial. The Schools have been meeting places for all who have wanted to come to truly "know" who they are and claim their personal Mastery. The profoundly transforming tools of Self-Mastery that were taught in the Schools have been "hidden" for millennia and up until recently available to only a select few. But they are now available to all who sincerely desire to learn them.

One of the great gifts of the times we are now living in is that we all can directly access this knowledge for ourselves. As well, we can each directly connect with the Masters that embody this wisdom/love and be guided by them into a deeper connection with our Selves/Souls. We can connect with a very powerful and a very real Internal Master Mind Group that really supports and loves us.

We can attain Mastery of our minds, emotions, body, and ego; and when we do, we can live a life that is constantly fed and inspired by the deepest levels of our Soul/Higher Self. We can live a life of Empowerment, Joy, and Love. We can be free of the limitations and myopia of the ego mind.

As Eileen Cady, the co-founder of The Findhorn Community, so elegantly stated:

Cease trying to work everything out with your mind.
It will get you nowhere.
Live your life by Intuition and Inspiration.
Let your whole life be a Revelation.

By claiming our Self-Mastery, we learn how to live in the divine flow of life--free of the fears, worries, and false beliefs that limit us. We can claim our Mastery and leave behind our old, false identities of being victims and powerless. We can directly access the wisdom of our Soul and live our lives based on its inspirations.

Self-Mastery and empowerment are the birthrights we are all entitled to. We are being called to accept our true inheritance, one in which we finally realize that we are divine Masters and co-creators of Joy.

You can uncover for yourself the mystery and majesty of who you really are. You can end your bondage to the old, false self-images and the enmeshments and entanglements of your past, and claim the power and freedom to "Be true to your Self."
You can enter the doors to the sacred temple of your Soul and find within all the wondrous beauty of Thy Self.

By learning to breathe, quiet the ego mind and listen, you, too can become a Master of your life and no longer a victim.

Small is the number of those who see with their own eyes
and feel with their own hearts.

Albert Einstein

The Mind is a Lot Less Important than We Think It is: a Meditation

Look! This little finger covers the eye and prevents the whole world from being seen.
In this same way this small mind covers the whole universe
and prevents Reality from being seen.

Ramana Maharshi

The mind is a lot less important than we think it is. In our Western rationalistic society, we have given pre-eminence to the cognitive processes. Of course, the mind has its place and value in the scheme of things. But the mind is not meant to be the primary way we experience reality. As Carl Jung said, "All of reality is not thinking."

Feeling or sensing is. The mind judges, analyzes, compartmentalizes and this causes a sense of separation and duality. The heart or the intuitive faculty embraces or becomes one with its object of attention. It feels it from the inside out.

The heart knows an object from the inside out and not from just the surface, outside appearance. So, to really get to know someone or something, learn to quiet your mind and feel and then identify with and become one with that which you are focused on.

In other words, "lose your mind and come to your senses."

Meditation is the doorway to this way of perceiving.

Living Today's Dream and Not Yesterday's, a Meditation

If you do not go within, you go without.
Neale Donald Walsch

Remember to look within. For it is only there that one can really find who one truly is and what is most important.

Take some time on a regular basis to slow down and go within. Suspend for awhile what you "think" you "should" be doing and instead just listen to the Silence within and allow its "voice" to speak to you.

Slowing down and taking inventory of who you presently are and where you are headed is sooooooo important. The word inventory comes from a Latin word which means "to come or go within." So, by slowing down your overly active thinking mind, you can go within and in the Quiet hear your Self rather than your ego mind's never-ending prattle.

So, take a few deep breaths now, quiet your mind and go within and gently and without too much focus ask, "What dream am I living now? Am I living the dream I had five years ago? Can I be happy and fulfilled living yesterday's dream or someone else's dream? What is my dream today?"

Gently allow these questions or similar ones to float out there and then just sit back and "listen." No, do not seek to hear your mind's ruminations, but actually just be still and sense, see and feel whatever impressions, feelings or images arise. Just "be" with them and with your Self.

You will be surprised at what comes up for you, if you leave your mind behind. Don't strain or "try," just allow the process to come to you. Be open and receptive. In time, as you practice this, a clearer and clearer vision will come to you of you.

Actually, as you practice this, you learn that being conscious of who you are is a moment to moment process. It is a process whereby you learn to "feel" first rather than "think" first. It is a process whereby you lose your mind and come to your senses.

It can be a bit of a stretch to ignore your mind and, instead, listen first to your heart/Soul or your intuition/feelings, but it's a good stretch. I suggest you try it for awhile because by doing so, you will find your Dreams and Your Self!

Who looks outside, sleeps.
Who looks inside, awakens.
Carl Jung

What is Life? A Meditation

Life is not a problem to be solved, but a mystery to be lived.
Thomas Merton

I

I would rather live in a world where my life is surrounded by mystery
than live in a world so small that my mind could comprehend it.
Kat Cathey

Most of us habitually try to control all aspects of our lives: our relationships, our work environments, our health, our finances, etc, but usually we don't succeed. We do this to feel safe and secure. We do this so that we can be happy. But the irony is that in tenaciously holding on so hard, we waste most of our precious energy in trying to control things. We exhaust ourselves trying to anticipate what may happen and we squeeze all the joy, creativity and spontaneity out of life.

By spending so much energy trying to make sure that everything and everyone follows a specific script that we have in mind, we miss a myriad of opportunities to really enjoy and experience Life. We never allow for Life to simply come to us! We are constantly trying to force it to "go our way." We leave no room for wonder and magic.

We always want to know what is going to happen next, but by doing so we limit the boundless possibilities that are available to us. Life isn't a script to be followed word by word, but a new, fresh potential waiting to be expressed or actualized, moment to moment.

It is only when we allow for the unexpected and unknown to happen that "magic" or "real Life" can happen. All that is new, fresh and joy filled can only be found in the "unknown." The "known" is stagnant, old and calcified.

Embrace the "unknown" and there you will find Life! Tenaciously hold on to the "known" and there you will find stagnation!

Allow for the mysteries of life to delight you! Learn to live in the moment and be free! Learn to trust that it is all there for you! Each moment will take care of it self! Become a Master of the mysteries of Life.

Cease trying to work things out with your mind,
it will get you nowhere.
Let your whole life be led by Intuition and Inspiration
Let your whole life be a Revelation.
Eileen Cady

In order to allow yourself to be in the moment, to experience the mystery and magic of it all, experiment with the following. Whenever you can, just stop; take a couple of deep breaths; then become aware of your body by doing a brief body scan from the top of your head to the tips of your toes. This will bring you into the present.

Then allow your attention to be simply in the present only focused on the rise and fall of your abdomen as you breathe in and out. Suspend all thought and then just feel. Don't think! Feel! And ask and allow for an insight or an inspiration to reveal itself to you! And then sit back, with your mind disengaged and then absorb and enJoy whatever insight or inspiration you receive! It may come as a thought, an impression, an image or a feeling.

In this way you can live in the moment and allow the mystery and magic of Life to enter your experiences. In this way you can live Life to the fullest and be a Master of your Life and no longer a slave of circumstances.

Some Phrases that Summarize the Class

This is Part VIII of an eight part blog.

This is the last of the eight blog posts for this Mini-Course. Below I review some phrases that summarize this course. Use them as a review and also use them as an opportunity to do a brief meditative reflection on what they might mean for you in your life. You can journal about them, as well.

And as I mentioned on my Monday, April 7, 2008 Blog post, I will be leading you in a lengthy template meditative exercise on my Friday, April 11, 2008 Podcast so you can “tune in” deeply for yourself.

Some Phrases that Summarize the Class

Listen with your heart and not your head.

Speak before you think.
Feel first, think later.
Speak Your Feel.
Talk your Feel.

Quiet your mind and open your heart.

Learn how to "go within" and you will never be "with out!"

Learn to "see" from the Inside Out and you will "see" the whole picture. You no longer need to skim the surface of life, but now you can jump all the way in!

The true treasures of life are free, but invisible to the physical eye. Come learn to see again!

The final frontier is within You!

After you do the Template Meditation exercise, reflect on the impressions that you received about yourself.

The opening heart is the most beautiful flower of all.
The greatest beauty in the world is compassion,
Love shining free from attachment and grasping.

Practical Applications for Your Intuition and Templates
A picture is worth 10,000 words.

This is Part VII of an eight part blog.

This week, during my Friday Podcast of April 11, 2008, I will be leading you in a lengthy template meditative exercise so you can deeply “tune in” for yourself.

Today, I will explain a bit more about how to use the template that I will lead in during my Podcast.

If you really want to get an intuitive “read” on a person or situation, the best technique I have found is the following. Close your eyes and imagine that the individual you are focusing on is a rose. Then just see what kind of rose they become: that is, what size, color, texture, luster, glow, etc. Note whether the petals are vibrant or dried out, whether they are open or closed, etc. Notice as well, whether the rose is all alone, in a bouquet, in a rose bush, in a desert, etc. Notice, too, whether it is sunny, rainy cloudy, dark, etc. Just keep looking at the rose and it will, in the picture it paints for you, tell you more than 10,000 words of information about that individual or situation.

Don’t force this process and don’t use your cognitive mind, instead use your intuitive, creative faculties to “read” and “feel” the energies. Feel don’t think. Analysis will lead to paralysis.

You must allow the rose to spontaneously form before you and then just trust whatever intuitions, inspirations or feelings you get. They will give you a truckloads worth of information.

You must first have the knowledge of your power;
second, the courage to dare;
third, the faith to do.
Charles F. Haanel

The HeArt of Intuition: Live from the Inside Out, Part VI

Speak Before You Think.
Feel First, Think Later.
Speak Your Feeling.
Talk your Feel.

This is Part VI of an eight part blog.

Intuition is really a gift. It truly makes it possible for you to know who you realy are. The difficulty in defining it – the difficulty in working with it – is that it's not something you "do." It's something you "allow" to come through you. You can’t “do” it with your mind; you simply allow it to flow through your heart. It occurs as inspiration and not as perspiration. It’s a “non-doing.”

When I teach my Intuition classes I tell my students, "Don't think; Speak before you think. Your mother or your dad may have said to you, ‘Think before you speak.’ In this case, no, ‘feel first, think later; feel first and speak your feeling.’ What are you feeling?"

Again, Intuition is not a mental effort, it's not a striving, it just manifests through you. You start talking your “feel” and you have no idea where what you are saying is going to lead to. You follow the “golden thread” of your feelings. It’s not scripted; it’s inspired. It comes from the heart and not from the head. And it weaves a beautiful tapestry of meaning and purpose right there before your very eyes.

But it does require you to learn to trust in your Higher Self—in the creative, inspired part of you—rather than the limited, scripted part of your ego mind.

This is Part VI of an eight part blog.

The HeArt of Intuition: Live from the Inside Out, Part V

The Land of Your Soul

This is Part V of an eight part blog.

Why would you believe that the answer to what is troubling you in your life now is in what you've already thought of or what somebody else has already told you? No, instead, it lies deep within you at the core of who you really are.

You know why you came upon this planet, you know why you are in the situation you are in now, you know why it's good for you – it's all really in Divine Order and Divine Timing – you know it's leading you to a deeper sense of Self, of awakening, of healing, of growth, and so forth.

So why try to use the mind to understand all this? It’s stuck in a box of limiting beliefs. Shift out of that place and enter The Land of Your Soul and there you will know who you are and you will know why you are where you are and where you are going.

Intuition opens you up to the big picture rather than to the little, narrow-minded picture of your ego. The ego says, "I'm suffering, whoa is me!" – but your Soul or Intuition helps you to see "No, at the moment, I am learning. And this is what I am learning and this is where it it’s all going and why.”

How do you make sense of the “things” that happen to you in your life? What do you use as your source for perspective, understanding, meaning and purpose in your life? Do you go within? Do you believe that there is a purpose and a meaning for everything that happens?

Quiet your mind for a moment and then bring up an issue in your life now that is a challenge. Focus on an image or feeling about it for a few seconds and then sit back and “see” what insights, inspirations or images you get. Don’t think; just trust and feel what you get.

Please go to my Podcast of April 4, 2008 and there I will lead you in this exercise or do it on your own.

This is Part V of an eight part blog.

The HeArt of Intuition: Live from the Inside Out, Part IV

Where is Your Reference Point?

This is Part IV of an eight part blog.

Where is your reference point? Is it within you or outside you? Who do you use as your authority—yourself or another?

Do you use your Self as your sole reference point or do you use others? In other words, do you check within your Self first or do you always go without (i.e. you trust the opinion of others more than your own) in making decisions, big and small?

In order to access your Intuition and access your Self, you must “quiet your mind and open your heart.” There is no other way. And when you do this, you experience the Silence that is there when all the unrelenting thinking and emoting quiets down. And it is in this Silence where you hear your Self for the first time.

So, by learning how to shift into this internal space—this intuitive space, you are not only accessing your Intuition, you are also learning how to be "true to your Self;" and you end up hearing and listening to your Self and to no one else. So, you now begin to use your Self as your internal reference point. There is no other reference point but You – inside You – you now recognize, hear and listen to your own voice.

So, Intuition isn't just simply the, Woo, woo, well, “I see guides”. And, you know, “I was King Tut in my last lifetime," or whatever other kind of woo, woo stuff you might think it is. It's actually an opportunity for you to come to know You – to come to know Thou--the Divine that is You--the essence that is You and be “True to Your Self.”

If you follow any one other than your Self, you will surely get lost!

This is Part IV of an eight part blog.

The Mind as a Vestigial Organ

This is Part III of an eight part blog.

Your mind is basically useless – that's why I consider it a vestigial organ, on some level at least. To find that intuitive, Soul level part of yourself, you must quiet the external mind—the ego mind. As you quiet that mind and slip in between all your incessant thoughts and emotions, you then can begin to eavesdrop on your own Soul, on your Higher Self—your intuitive Self and on God/Goddess.

Cease trying to work things out with your mind.
It will get you nowhere.
Let your whole life be led by intuition and inspiration.
Let your whole life be a revelation.
Eileen Caddy

The mind only knows what it has been programmed to know, much like a computer. Your heart/Soul accesses the infinite “knowing” of the Universe and therefore, can and does “know all things.”

With the ego mind quiet, you can sense or “tune into” the subtle energies and realms. It’s really that simple and everyone can do it.

Do you rely on your mind too much—in other words on what you already know and believe rather than on the possibility of being inspired with new insights about yourself and others? Do you think too much? Take a moment to reflect on these questions.

The HeArt of Intuition: Live from the Inside Out, Part II

What is Intuition?
It is Seeing or Listening with Your Heart
and not with Your Head.
It is “Going Within.”

This is Part II of an eight part blog.

I want to touch in on what it means to "go within," for when you “go within” you see/listen with your heart and not with your head. By “going within” you become one with your object of attention because you place it in your heart.

On the other hand, when you only use your head/mind, you are only seeing a small percentage of your object of attention because you are only using your logical mind to analyze, categorize and judge it, and, in effect, you are just scanning the surface of it. While, when you “go within” you learn how to “identify” with it – to “feel” it – to “embrace it.” And by doing this, you allow yourself to become “one with” it and see the whole picture from the Inside Out.

In other words, when you're looking at something from the outside, i.e. with your mind, you are only seeing a small part of it. You are truly just skimming the surface, but when you allow yourself to become a part of it internally, then you see the whole picture because you have become “one with” it.

If you don’t go within,
you go without.
Neale Donald Walsch

What I am suggesting above is a very different way than most people use to gather information about a person or a “thing.” By interacting in this way, you gather information with your heart and not your head. The mind does not truly “understand” anything; it just analyzes and measures. It is the heart that really “knows.”

As Vine Deloria, a Native-American scholar wrote in this regard:

“For primitive people the presence of energy and power is the starting point of their analysis and understanding of the natural world...primitive people felt power, but did not measure it. Today we are able to measure power, but do not feel it.”

What do you think about what I have suggested? Do you think it is possible for you to use your heart as the primary way to gather information?

Close your eyes now and take a moment to focus on a person you care about. Instead of thinking about them, just softly focus on an image/feeling of them and see what you feel” about them rather than what you “think” about them. Then spontaneously jot down a few notes about what you “felt.”

Do the same as above with someone you recently met or don’t know that well.

You can do this exercise on your own now or go to my Podcast of March 21, 2008 where I lead you in this exercise.

The HeArt of Intuition: Live from the Inside Out, Part I

Live Your Life from the “Inside Out” &
Have the “Inside Edge” on Everything You Do?

The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind a faithful servant.
We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.

Albert Einstein

This is Part I of an eight part blog.

What follows is an eight part mini-Course on Intuition. In this course you will learn how to honor and use your intuition to empower your life and live authentically.

Besides offering you written material to read on my Blog posts, I will, as well, lead you through a number of Intuitive Meditative exercises on my Podcasts.

So, enjoy this mini journey into The Land of Your Soul.

Why I feel that intuition is such an important skill to learn is because it is the best and most empowering tool with which you can come to know:

1) Who you are.
2) Where you are in your life right now.
3) Where you are going.
4) Why you are going there.
and
5) What to do next.

So, as well as being a metaphysical tool to explore the inner realms; intuition is, also, very, very practical.

What are your reasons for wanting to learn how to “connect” intuitively? Is it to connect with your Higher Self, other people, your Guides, your Ancestors, etc? Is it to help you make better decisions in your life, to feel good about yourself, to impress others, etc?

Take a few minutes to reflect on this. It will help you to set your intentions for this course and doing this will also help you to get the most out of it.

Graduating From Our Beliefs, Part IV

This is part IV of a four part blog.

I have come to realize that as I have integrated and released many belief systems that I have come to feel so much freer and so much more empowered and authentic than I ever imagined. I have come in this process to really understand what it means to “be true to myself.” And learned that, “if I follow any one other than myself, I surely will get lost!”

Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.
Ralph Waldo Emerson

The truth is that everything that is represented as what God said—every word of it—has been brought to us by men/women. Now maybe they were good men/women, well-intentioned people, but they were just human beings like you and I are who were filled with strengths and wisdom, but also with the contradictions and foibles that you and I have. They just made huge claims and they spread.

Until you can stand up to the authority of those who claim they have “the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth,” and instead live according to the God/Goddess truth within your own heart, you’re not following your Self. You are following someone else. Period! And that will get you nowhere! Actually, it can only get you eternally and infernally lost!

You are the creator and the authority of the meaning and the purpose of your life. No one else is or can ever be! Claim it!

If you follow any one other than your Self, you will surely get lost!

Graduating From Our Beliefs, Part III

This is part III of a four part blog.

When we reach this point in our personal evolution events in our lives truly have meaning because it is a meaning that comes from within us and not from an external source. We are connected to the power and essence of our Source. We no longer need to go outside of ourselves for answers or validation. It is a wonderful stage in our growth. Our only reference point is within. We now have learned to live our lives from the “inside out.”

The whole point of this is not to get identified with the system of growth you are using presently because it is temporary. Know that at some point you will graduate from needing it and/or it may take on a form very different from what you thought it was.

Please note that I myself am presently writing this piece using a belief system of some kind, but I know it won’t last. Actually, I hope it doesn’t last very long at all.

I am climbing my mountain of mastery and mystery and each turn brings me to a new vista—a new horizon—a new perspective. One that builds to some degree on the previous one, but ultimately it is one that is now very different from the previous one; and it does not allow me to “go back” any more. Once through the “rabbit’s hole”, you are in a totally new dimension—an entirely new reality—and there is nowhere else to go, but deeper.

So, what is important to understand here is that whatever system you are using is bringing you closer and closer to who you really are and to finding your own personal meaning and purpose for your life; and that you are gaining more personal power every step of the way.

Graduating From Our Beliefs, Part II

This is Part II of a four part blog.

In the beginning of our search for meaning and purpose we need structure—a system for healing and growth. It is a natural part of our evolution. We can not take our initial baby steps of growth without structure. We need a common system just to communicate the concepts. But whatever the system, there is a tendency to turn the system into a set of rigid beliefs that “know it all,” so to speak. And these beliefs then validate all those who believe in them. This is when we get stuck. This is when our growth gets stunted.

Each belief we subscribe to is meant to be a stepping stone to the next. It is not meant to be a permanent landing place. Life is an evolutionary process, not a stagnant one, so is it the case with truth. We are meant to take a belief—digest it a bit, integrate it and then make it our own; that is, take the best it has to offer us and then release the rest. Then we move on and integrate a new one and so on up the line.

So, what I am saying here is that it is necessary to transcend our belief systems one by one. And then at some point we come to a place where we release all beliefs and we live our lives from pure intention simply connected to that which comes to us from our Higher Self. Thus it is no longer our beliefs or those of others that create meaning and purpose in our lives, but it is our connection with our God Self that does. We now live a life that is true to itself.

This is Part II of a four part blog.

Graduating From Our Beliefs, Part I

This is Part I of a four part blog.

Stop believing in anything; and you may find that which is truth itself.
Krishnamurti

If you follow any one other than your Self, you will surely get lost!

Yanni Maniates

A belief is a thought that you repeat over and over again. Eventually you no longer question its origin or veracity. As well, in time some beliefs become “belief systems” that large numbers of people swear by and no longer question.

What of your beliefs have you consciously examined and explored to determine if they are really “true” for you or not?

Eventually there will come a time in your internal growth process when you will realize that you need to drop your “belief systems” completely—yes, all of them—and I do mean completely! Our Higher Self or our God Self does not adhere to a belief system or to a set of doctrines. It’s only reference point is the God/Goddess within. It’s only authority comes from within.

In order to fully develop our potential we must free ourselves of our existing beliefs. For it only then when we can hear and listen to our inner guidance and be lead by that which is for our Highest Good.

As Krishnamurti wrote: “Stop believing in anything and you may find that which is truth itself.”

Living as a Vibrational Being, Part VIII

This is Part VIII of an eight part blog.

So, to accomplish this, you need to be very intentional and conscious in how you choose to respond to the energies of situations and people. You can let the lower energies simply pass through you instead of allowing them to “stick” to you. You can keep your vibration high by being conscious of the energetic dynamics of the situation you are in.

You can now integrate this “way of being” into all the interactions in your life. Understanding the energy dynamics in your life is the key to your full awakening and happiness. As well, you can also assist others with there own spiritual growth if you open your heart, trust your feelings and understand the energetic dynamics between you and others.

Additionally, as you open to being a vibrational being, a dramatic shift will occur because you will gain greater compassion for people. When you view the energy involved in a situation it will become less and less about what "he said, she said" or "me and them" or “right and wrong” and more about sensing the energy of the situation you are in.

We can help remove the confusion and judgments in our life by living as the vibrational beings that we really are. Then we’ll now what is in fact going on and will truly live an authentic and empowered life.

There is a Light that shines beyond all things on earth, beyond us all,
beyond the heavens, beyond the highest heavens.
This is the Light that shines in our hearts.
Chandogya Upanishad

Living as a Vibrational Being, Part VII

This is Part VII of an eight part blog.

The only problem with all this was that you were not conscious of what you were “picking up” on energetically because you were not looking for it. So, you were very vulnerable to being drained.

As a vibrational being, your energy body has a reaction to these energetic forces coming toward you. This is where your ability to make choices comes into play. Often when energy comes at us that is forceful and of a lower vibration, we usually match the vibration we are receiving in order to reach a balance with the "invading" energy. So, in other words, when situations like the ones described above occur, we send out an emotional energy, consciously or unconsciously, in order to accommodate the new vibration we are receiving.

The difficulty with all this is that we often tend, out of habit, to match the lower energies instead of rising above them. We often take the “low road” instead of taking the “high road.” We default into the lowest common denominator.

But we are very capable of adapting to situations in a way that chooses the highest energies. We can learn over time that we do not have to match the lower vibrations of others, but we can hold a vibration that is in balance and harmony instead. This comes with practice and by being very energetically conscious of what is going on.

Living as a Vibrational Being, Part VI

This is Part VI of an eight part blog.

Please note that if you had chosen to get all embroiled in the “drama” of the above three scenarios, you would have felt drained and exhausted within the first half-hour of your work. On the other hand, if you had stayed centered and in a high vibration, you would be fresh and sharp and full of energy.

We either attune ourselves to the highest energies; or we don’t! Our environment doesn’t determine our experiences; what we focus on does.

We choose the vibration we resonate with by virtue of what we focus on. We see what we are looking at and what we are looking for. It’s all about vibration; it’s all a choice.

We are all evolving into conscious creators; that is conscious choosers of the vibrations we interact with.

This is the evolutionary path we are on. And as we develop the “heart-mind” that White Eagle spoke of earlier, we accelerate our growth and enhance and enrich our experiences of life. It’s all an inside job!

So, let’s look more closely at what was going on energetically in the situations above.

Each of the people in this situation has their own energy. Imagine for a moment what was happening energetically as you sat at your desk while all this was going on. Your energetic body was feeling the waves of energy moving towards you well before they reached you. When the waves arrived, you sensed not only the force of energy of the individuals involved, but, as well, you energetically experienced their thoughts and feelings. All these vibrations, negative and positive, come towards you and you experienced them on a vibrational level.

Living as a Vibrational Being, Part V

This is Part V of an eight part blog.

Now to continue the saga, a few minutes after the first co-worker leaves another co-worker comes by and starts ragging very negatively about the person you were just talking to. As this begins to happen, you have a choice to either join him in his vibrations of negativity and jealousy towards her or you can simply let him blow of some steam for a few minutes and then go back to work. He can either become a significant part of your experience that day or simply be just a passing blip on your screen.

Next, he leaves and you finally get back to your work only to discover that your computer is frozen and you can’t get any work done. So, again, you have a choice to either get all bent out of shape about it and choose a series of negative currents of energy to jump into; or you can choose to accept what is happening as part of the flow of what working with computers is all about and simply get someone to fix the computer while you get some other work done.

If the above examples don’t exactly apply to you, I’m sure that you have had similar ones happen at times.

As vibrational beings we choose the vibration that we resonate with. It’s all a choice. We can choose to be conscious and intentional with regard to the energies we engage with and focus on or not.

Living as a Vibrational Being, Part IV

This is Part IV of an eight part blog.

You can only “feel” who you ARE! You can’t “think” who you are! The mind measures, analyzes, and judges things, thus just skimming the surface; the heart, on the other hand, “feels” and thus becomes “one with” its object of attention and thus knows from within. It “sees” the whole picture.

So, from my point of view, we are here to “feel” our way through life rather than “think” our way through life.

Below is an example of a series of experiences that I feel could be instructive to help you to learn how to shift your way of perceiving and experiencing your world in a more energetic or vibrational way. Actually, learning how to “feel” your way through life can be very practical as well as liberating on a day-to-day basis. Below is a practical example.

So, here we go: You routinely walk into your place of work one morning and sit down at your desk and begin your normal work routine. Within a minute or so a co-worker comes up to you and starts to very negatively complain about the boss and she just won’t stop. She is very intense and totally preoccupied. There is no stopping her. You can’t get a word in edgewise.

As this is going on, you have a choice to either join your co-worker in her vibrations of negativity and anger by joining in the conversation or you can step back and instead neutrally witness her behavior. Rather than getting caught up in the same negative vibrations which will only drain you—no matter how justified it may seem—you can choose to hold a higher vibration.

Living as a Vibrational Being, Part III

This is Part III of an eight part blog.

Everyone is capable of learning to interpret and “pick up” on energy and to connect to the universal energies, if they wish to. This is not just the province of psychics, mystics, healers and divinely ordained and gifted ones. Actually, we are all evolving in this direction.

As White Eagle wrote:

When you have learned to think with your heart instead of with your brain,
you will have taken a great step forward.
The humanity of the future will think with the heart-mind,
for Intuition is the next sense which will be developed in humankind.

We are coming full-circle. Actually, we have always been able to do this, but simply forgot. We put our ego, overly logical minds in charge and forgot that our minds are meant to be the servant of our Soul and not the other way around.

We are intuitive beings first. We are not “talking heads;” we are “feeling hearts.”

In other words, who is your Master: your rational, logical, analytical ego mind with its false sense of superiority and delusions of grandeur or your heart or Soul who knows who you are and why you are here and can easily “pick up” on the more subtle energies?

The logical mind can not comprehend that which it is not!

Living as a Vibrational Being, Part II

This is Part II of an eight part blog.

Shifting our perceptions to the non-physical vibrational world that is all around us can be a bit of a challenge, given our very narrow over reliance on the empirical sciences and the logic of the left-brain. The key is to shift gradually and incorporate more and more of an energetic perspective about our lives and the world. By appreciating that every person and every thing has a unique energy signature and that even our emotions, feelings and words are energy, we will transform ourselves and our experience of the world radically.

Vine Deloria, a Native-American scholar wrote in this regard:

“For primitive people the presence of energy and power is the starting point of their analysis and understanding of the natural world...primitive people felt power, but did not measure it. Today we are able to measure power, but do not feel it.”

By expanding our awareness in this way, we accept that we are picking up on energy and vibration throughout our day. Once we open to this paradigm, we then can begin to assess how we feel in relationship to these countless energies. We can then learn to trust our “gut” feelings, hunches and instincts as a very legitimate way to interpret and understand ourselves, others and the world we live in.

This is Part II of an eight part blog.

Living as a Vibrational Being, Part I

This is Part I of an eight part blog.

We exist in a world with many different types of stimulation. Our lives are filled with a multitude of energetic experiences. Starting from the womb, through infancy, childhood, adolescence and adulthood we are always picking up on and being bombarded by all kinds of energies. Usually we pick up on these energies unconsciously. They affect us, but we don’t realize it. We pick up on other people’s energies, as well as the energies of water, stones, plants, animals, electromagnetic waves, etc., etc.

Simply stated, we are vibrational beings who pick on energies of all different kinds.

We are entering an era now where our previously limited perceptions in this regard are expanding geometrically. Our beliefs about who we are and what we are possible of achieving and receiving are being radically transformed to reveal that we live in a world full of depth and beauty that we did not previously realize existed simply because we had very limited perceptions about ourselves and about the world we lived in.

We have lived in the dark, but now it is dawning upon us that we are much more than what the physical eye can perceive.

Awakening Your Intuitive Knowing, Part X

This is Part X of a ten part blog. Part I begins on 10/15/07. In order to better understand what follows, it would be best to read the previous parts.

You are solely there as an instrument or as a mirror to reflect back to them some information that might be helpful to them. If they want to receive what you offer, fine. If they won’t want to receive it, that’s fine, too. But if you have as your intention that you want to make them well and want them to be better after the session, guess what, they will feel better, but you won’t. Your energy will have been used and drained.

So, as I do my work I have learned to not do it personally or to take it personally. I don’t care what a person thinks after a class or a session. My sole preparation and intention is to be connected at the heart level. That’s the only thing I care about.

If I speak from my heart, I have done my intention and my “job”. And that is all that matters. If I am concerned about how it went for you, then I really lose my energy to you. If I know that I am coming from my heart, then I have done my best and leave it at that; then I am OK.

For myself, when I started doing readings on a pay-for-basis around 20 years ago, I would literally spend an hour or so preparing before the reading, literally reading for the person without them here to make sure I had something to say when they got here. I did this because I felt that I had to make sure that they felt good when they left. And I would even give two hour readings for people simply to make sure they got enough. Doing this would totally exhaust me.

So, I finally stopped doing readings after a while because it was so darn draining. I finally had to “get”/understand this piece that I am sharing with you now. It is such that now I don’t care before a reading. [I’m not saying here that I do not care for the person. No, not at all, I do! What I don’t care about is listening to or paying any attention to my ego’s fears, insecurities and fantasies of omniscience.]

Actually, I don’t even prepare any more other than that I create a clear intention that I am going to, first, connect with “being present” and in a place of Embrace for myself and then once connected, speak what I feel and sense, unedited and not scripted by my mind.

In other words, I have learned to “speak before I think.” It has all been drummed into us that we must “think before we speak.” Yeah, but that does not get you anywhere in the world of intuition. In this work, you “speak before you think” because as you start to think you start to censor and alter what you are feeling and you get in your own way.

So, to get back to my main point, the essence of this work is Love based. Otherwise it isn’t worth very much. If you do it for ego purposes, it won’t work for you and, though it may serve others to a degree, it will only be to a small degree. All we are here to learn is how to best mirror back to another the good that is within them and to do it through the eyes and heart of our Souls.

This is Part X of a ten part blog.

Awakening Your Intuitive Knowing, Part IX

This is Part IX of a ten part blog. Part I begins on 10/15/07. In order to better understand what follows, it would be best to read the previous parts.

It became crystal clear to me at that point that “the sound of one hand clapping” is the sound/feeling of total oneness with the object of your attention. This is the sound of oneness, of “one hand clapping.” And this is what intuition is all about

It is about becoming one with the object of your attention. No longer is there a sense of separation or duality, but there is now “a becoming one with” and, therefore, a “knowing.” No, it is not with you mind that you know, but with your heart! Actually the etymology of the word intuition is “to see or go within,”

So when you want to read or connect for someone or with something, you become one with them/it. When you want to connect or be with yourself, you become one with your Self. No, not you ego or mind self, but your Higher or God/Goddess Self. It is from there that you really know. It is from there that real connection occurs. This is the place of the Embrace, of Love.

Otherwise you are caught up in an emotion we call love, but please understand that Love is not an emotion. It is a state of being. Love is not a dependent state of being. It is an independent state of being. Love is not attached state of being. It is a detached state of being. Love is a state of being that comes from the Heart and not from the head. It is a state of being that comes from the Soul and not from the ego.

What in heaven’s name is he talking about? One of the biggest problems people have when they are working with others in a healing capacity or even just in a relationship with another is something called co-dependency. What is he mumbling about here?

If you want to intuitively read another person, you really have to be very careful about what you are doing and how and why you are doing it. When you are with another individual either in a relationship, in a healing setting or in a reading setting, be it whether they are asking for your feedback or whether you are just “tuning in” in order to sense what is going on, regardless, you must be there for them as an objective mirror and nothing else. You are not there to be their authority.

As well, you are not there to prove or validate yourself, that is, to prove ,b>to yourself or to them that you can “read”--that is purely ego “stuff.” And if you are doing it for this reason, be assured that you will have your energies sapped.

Also you are not there to heal them. They have to choose to heal. So often, when we do this kind of work, we want to heal the person. We not only want to prove to them that we are good, but, also, that we are a gifted healer. That is all ego! Let go of this way of thinking; it will get you nowhere. It will only drain you!

Awakening Your Intuitive Knowing, Part VIII

This is Part VIII of a ten part blog. Part I begins on 10/15/07. In order to better understand what follows, it would be best to read the previous parts.

But other things happened during this experience of the “Embrace.” I, also, made the determination and the clear intention at that time that this is what I am here not only to experience personally, but also to share with others. So, I made the resolve that that was what I would be doing with my life. So, as I said at the beginning of this class, “It is truly an honor and a privilege to have you here in this class. It is an honor and a privilege to have you here to share the possibility of the Embrace with you.”

So, the reason why I have shared this story with you is because I want to really give you a clear framework in this first class about what these classes are really about: and that is, that these classes are all about making that kind of a connection with the Embrace.

As I was saying at the beginning, if you want to connect for another, you need to be present with yourself. And to be present with yourself you must stand in this heart, in this Embrace, in this Love. If you want to “read” for someone, you read from a place of connection, of heart, of the Embrace.

I remember an experience when I was studying Shiatsu about 15 years ago. Shiatsu is the Oriental healing system where you apply acupressure to the acupuncture points with your fingers rather than with needles. When you do Shiatsu it is best, if you want to allow for the unimpeded flow of the energies, to always leave at least one hand on your client’s body during the entire treatment.

I remember one time when I was balancing a person’s energies; I was holding two different points on their body with each of my hands. Then all of a sudden I shifted energetically and made a really, really deep connection with the person. And the next thing I knew, it felt as if I just had one hand on the person and that he and I were one. As well, all was one in the room, all the people, all the objects, all was one. And then a voice drifted into my consciousness and said, “This is the sound of one hand clapping.” This phrase is the famous Zen koan: “What is the sound of one hand clapping?

Awakening Your Intuitive Knowing, Part VII

This is Part VII of a ten part blog. Part I begins on 10/15/07. In order to better understand what follows, it would be best to read the previous parts.

So, I kept looking for meaning. For me initially, meaning/purpose to me meant finding a cognitive understanding of what life is all about. But, wisely I looked in spiritual directions, too. I started meditating at 16 years of age. I looked into all kinds of “stuff.” And I kept looking and looking and looking and yet still never felt right or felt a connection with myself or with others; still always feeling odd, always odd. I never fit into anything.

And it was not until 20 years ago, when I was sitting in class, similar to this one, with one of my teachers, Philip Burley, when I “got it.” Jaime, my wife and I, would travel three hours one-way to get to these classes because it was the only place we could find anything like it.

We were attending regularly for a year or so and then one night during a session somewhat similar to this, all of a sudden, this profound “Embrace” came over me. It was visceral. I felt it throughout my whole body. I was shaking, vibrating. And it was electric. And it was so embracing and so unitive and so totally transformative. I felt totally accepted and at one with myself. In the middle of it I thought, “Eureka, this is it. This is what I have been looking, but in all the wrong places” [This is a reference to the song “Looking for Love in all the Wrong Places”.]

But it was not that kind of love, that co-dependent love stuff that I was looking for. This was the Real Thing: a profound Embrace, a unitive oneness with my Self. And at that moment or during those moments (it was an experience outside of time and space) I said to myself, “One…this is it. And, two, I am not letting go of this one.” And I didn’t. I then began a practice of spending two hours a night in mediation looking for it. By the way, you don’t really have to sit in meditation for two hours a day to experience this.

Awakening Your Intuitive Knowing, Part VI

This is Part VI of a ten part blog. Part I begins on 10/15/07. In order to better understand what follows, it would be best to read the previous parts.

So, I would like to now share with you why I teach these classes.

In this lifetime, the parenting that I received was such that neither of my parents had the experience of Love or of the Embrace so they were, therefore, incapable of sharing that with me. So as a child, what I basically heard, actually, all I ever heard, was what was wrong with me and what I was not doing right. Even on her deathbed, my mom could not say anything nice to me. That simply was just not possible for her; so bless her, bless her for that!

She wanted to be able to do so, but she couldn’t for whatever reasons; it does not really matter. And it was my choice to be with her and it was a gift. And my dad was not there either, sweet dear soul that he was, because he could not handle her so he was gone emotionally. And I did not have siblings.

And so the profound gift of all this was…and also given the way I was raised, they did not let me go out of their sight much; God forbid I would do something other than what they wanted me to do… I had a very rich interior life. I had no other choice. Either that or go crazy. Which some of you may think is the case. [Laughter.]

The richness of my interior life extended, as well, into my dream life. It is still a problem for me nowadays because I go to sleep and I am so active; it is ridiculous. There is so much going on; I often say to myself, “Give me a break already. Let me just go comatose for a while. Give me a drug. Give me anything.” FYI, I don’t take drugs, never have. But…it is a very active interior life that I have.

So through all this upbringing I was left with really poor self esteem and no real direction or purpose in my life. So, from a very young age I was desperately looking for meaning. My story, I realize, may parallel many of your stories, too. So, please understand that I am not claiming my story to be unique, nor in any way am I asking for sympathy. Nor, other than for teaching purposes, do I identify with it any more.

Awakening Your Intuitive Knowing, Part V

This is Part V of a ten part blog. Part I begins on 10/15/07. In order to better understand what follows, it would be best to read the previous parts.

Caroline Myss writes in one of her books that during the time of Jesus, the band of light that humans could see was much narrower or smaller than we now see. They could not really see purple or indigo very well. They were not color blind, but they could not see the difference between purple and blue which now we easily see. So, if you can allow what I’ve just said to kind of settle in, it might give you a sense for what you are looking for as you begin to work with your intuitive sight.

Remember, you don’t “see” things with your eyes when you are doing intuitive work. Instead you just “feel”---it is a gut thing---this is just another way of saying you are using your 6th sense.

Where I want to go with all that I have just said is not anywhere near what I actually sat down and prepared to say today. I have learned, especially after doing so many intuitive development classes, not to get caught up in making sure I cover what I prepared for. I have also learned to transfer this same way of flowing with things that I am doing now in this class into most parts of my life, too.

My ego will script how it wants something to turn out and what it scripts is very limited compared to what my Soul is likely to have in mind for me. Also, if I tune in at the Soul level, I will sense and see a situation very differently from how my ego would see it.

So I have learned to let things flow instead of always trying to script them in my life; and I have learned to see them with the eyes and heart of my Soul and not from the myopia or narrow-mindedness of my ego. I choose to feel first and think later.

I have learned to see with my “first eye” and not my physical eyes. Why is it that we call intuitive sight the “third eye”? It really is the “first eye!” It is the first resource we want to use, if we really want to know something or someone.

Awakening Your Intuitive Knowing, Part IV

This is Part IV of a ten part blog. Part I begins on 10/15/07. In order to better understand what follows, it would be best to read the previous parts.

Also, because of all the left brain training we have had in our culture, intuitive knowing is considered flakey or irrelevant. But it certainly is not! What I hope to help you to understand through this course is how to feel, sense, and “see” a whole new world that is right there before you.

To do so you must learn how to shift out of the rational, cognitive state and into an intuitive, feeling state. You do this by shifting into a meditative state and then you learn how to trust the impressions you are receiving as much as, if not even more than, the physical ones you receive.

The cognitive state is a very narrow band of reality. Very little information comes thru that state. The greater part of reality comes through to you by your picking up on vibrations, in other words, by feeling. As Carl Jung said, “most of Reality is not thinking.”

Also, “we are vibratory beings” and must understand the implications of that phrase. We can live, be or travel into any level, dimension, time, or space. All we have to do is change our vibration. We can time travel into the future or the past. We can, just by changing our vibration, go anywhere we want to go in the universe. What????????? You say!

You don’t have to believe what I have just said or understand it. You don’t even have to remember what I just said. But the fact is that all you have to do is to clearly and intentionally focus your vibration and you are “there;” and “there” can be any “where;” and you can be “there” as any “thing” and you can also be there in any “time! “

We live in such a narrow band of reality, for example, our ability to see. We see within the infra red and the ultra violet bands of light. It is within this band of vibrations that we are able to see visually with the naked eye. Yet there are an infinite number of bands of reality that exist beneath the infrared and beyond the ultraviolet.

These are the bands that the animals pick up on and are guided by. This is how earthquakes and other natural phenomena are sensed before they physically occur. The vibrations are picked up on. The point is the bands go infinitely below infrared and infinitely above ultra violet. And guess what? You are capable of tuning into any one of those bands and “seeing.” But you have been so myopically trained, so narrowly trained, to see only in this infrared to ultraviolet band that you may not be able to even imagine what I am talking about.

Awakening Your Intuitive Knowing, Part III

This is Part III of a ten part blog. Part I begins on 10/15/07. In order to better understand what follows, it would be best to read the previous parts.

So the purpose of these classes is to help you go there, i.e., within. For it is there where your intuitive abilities reside. We are all energy beings, yes! You included! You are energy in motion, even though at times it might feel like you are moving very slowly. [Laughter]

Everything is energy. All that we ever do is interpret energy, receive energy, and “pick up” on energy. What we are not doing is hearing, seeing, touching, tasting, feeling or smelling. No, we are not!

We are vibrations of energy who pick up on other vibrations of energy. One of the problems with “reading” or seeing or sensing energies is that the human race for many millennia has been focused on the visual as the primary apparatus for sensing vibration. Over half of our brain is dedicated to this visual faculty simply because we have trained it that way; it has become our habitual way of interpreting/receiving vibration.

But, for instance, with regard to our cats, their whole thing is sniffing. You give them something, they sniff it. They cannot see color like we do. Their vision is more black and white than ours. That is actually why they can be more nocturnal. Their first way of receiving vibration is to smell it. As well, they have a greater hearing acuity than we do. They can hear a broader range of sound than we can. We consider them to be more primitive because they use a more primitive part of the brain, i.e., smelling. From my point of view, they are not more primitive, they simply have developed smelling as their primary way of sensing vibration.

Where so many people get tripped up with regard to developing their intuitive abilities is that they feel they cannot “see.” They assume that to be intuitive means that you “see” subtle energies as you would see them in the physical world. They believe that it should all be in Technicolor, that it should be as clear as day, like St. Paul on the road to Damascus when he encountered the resurrected Jesus.

But this is not the way most people “see.” Actually, all you are doing is “feeling” and not seeing. All you are doing is interpreting vibrations. You get caught up in expecting to “see” and then you miss what you are feeling or sensing and dismiss it all. Then you say you can’t do it or don’t get it, when, in fact, you are getting it. But you have been trained to believe that “seeing” is the only way to receive intuitive impressions.

Awakening Your Intuitive Knowing, Part II

This is Part II of a ten part blog. Part I begins on 10/15/07. In order to better understand what follows, it would be best to read the previous part.

Please know that we are all God Selves. We are all God in finite form. We are here to have the experience of being God in a finite form. Somehow, though, we have forgotten this simple fact. So, we give our authority away to others, be it to mentors, masters, guides, angels, teachers, teachings, relationships, corporations, causes, and all kinds of other things, and we then never find our own “God”ness for ourselves.

So, the purpose of these classes is to help you learn how to get in touch with that God/Goddess Self within and to be present with that Self and from that Presence be present for yourself and others. Otherwise you can not be present. Otherwise you are lost in your ego, lost in your illusions, lost in your fears, lost in your masks and in your veils, lost in your present personality and all of its limiting beliefs and fears.

Therefore, you are lost in who you think you are not who you really are. Who you think you are, is simply not who you are. If you want to look at it in a broader perspective, you have lived many, many, many lifetimes. How could you identify solely with this lifetime; this gender; this race; this culture you are in? It is ludicrous when you think about it because you are none of those identities at essence.

Be that as it may, go ahead and be a happy Dane [of Danish ancestry]. [Here I am talking to a student in the class of Danish ancestry.] Enjoy that experience. Get into your birth culture and really enjoy it.

I am not saying to forget that you have these roots in this lifetime. But when you think about this topic more deeply, you realize that your roots are the same as everyone else’s and that you are the same as everyone else. That is, you are a Divine being in human form taking on a finite experience for who knows what reason(s). But if you go within and honestly and lovingly look at yourself, you will find out what those reasons are and you will then know who you are and why you are.

Thus, whatever you are experiencing presently in your life is no longer seen as a problem. What you are experiencing no longer becomes your identity. You can go much deeper into knowing who you really are and into integrating, understanding and embracing your present experiences, both the “good” and the “bad.”

Awakening Your Intuitive Knowing, Part I

This is Part I of a ten part blog.

We are all blessed with the gift of intuitive “in” sight or intuitive knowing. It is simply not the case that some of us have the “gene” for intuition and others do not. We all have the “genius” of intuition imbedded in us.

It’s just a matter of learning how to listen to that voice within. It is a matter of learning the “language” of intuition, that is, the language of the heart. For some people this “language” of intuition is a foreign tongue, one which they were not raised knowing. For others, they picked it up somewhere along the line and it all comes easy for them. But just as with any foreign language, you can learn it and you can become quite proficient in communicating with it. Actually, in time, it becomes totally natural and easy.

In this mini-blog course I will lead you on an adventure into the world of the intuitive muse. You will learn how to listen to the oracle within you.

It is fun and it is easy, easier than learning a foreign language actually. As well, I will help you to understand and experience the profound love that is the “ground” from which intuition arises. So, let us begin.

What follows below is the partial transcript of a live class in which I was first talking about the phenomenon of channeling and then I went on to discuss what intuitive development really is all about.

“There is a phenomenon called channeling that is quite misunderstood. Channeling is not about channeling this particular being or that one; it is simply a process of being in touch with your own God or Higher Self and letting that flow through you.

We all have guides, mentors, masters, angels, etc. that support us. Their purpose is to help us to make a deep, lasting connection to our Higher Selves directly and on our own. While we are still learning to make this connection, they help to transduce the higher energies and bring them into a vibratory level that we can receive and integrate. But ultimately we are meant to channel our own God Self.

Wouldn’t You Rather be “Good at Who You Are” Rather Than Just “Good at What You Do?” Part II

This is Part II of a two part blog.

All man's miseries derive from not being able to sit quietly in a room alone.
Blaise Pascal

So the way to come to know truly who you are is to take the time to sit and simply “be” with your self on a regular consistent basis. Then you can truly come to know your self from the inside out. Then you can take actions in the world that are consistent and harmonious with who you really are rather than with what you think you should be or do. Then as you come to know your self in this way, you will know how others are, too.

Too often most of us choose what we do in our lives based on what we think others think is best for us, but somehow we never get in touch with what we feel and know on a very deep level is who we really are and is really best for us. So, we do things in our lives in an unconscious way and we end up living a very unaware, unfulfilled life.

We mistake “doing” for “being” and never find fulfillment, happiness or purpose. Instead all we find is more to “do.” We do get good at what we do, but we don’t get good at who we “be.”

We run around doing what we think we “should” be doing rather than what we know deep inside we want to do. We keep running around doing what we “should.” In other words we keep “shoulding” all over ourselves, but we never get around “being” ourselves or “being” true to ourselves.

So, what would you prefer: to “do” what you “should” with your life or “be” who you truly are? You get to choose.

Learn ‘not doing’ and everything will fall into place.

Wouldn’t You Rather be “Good at Who You Are” Rather Than Just “Good at What You Do?” Part I

This is Part I of a two part blog.

The highest reward for a person's toil is not what they get for it
but what they become by it.
John Ruskin
As human beings, our greatness lies not so much in being able to remake the world
. . . as in being able to remake ourselves.
Mahatma Gandhi

Who are you, actually? Is “who you are” defined by what you do? Or is it defined by who you “be.”

It’s rather interesting that when we greet someone we habitually ask: “How are you doing?” Rather than: “How are you Being?” It seems that we do not care to find out about who they are and what is at the essence of their lives and is eternal and everlasting. But we prefer to find out about what they are doing externally which is transient and ephemeral.

What matters most about someone, from my perspective, is “who they are” and not what they do. What they do can be of interest, but what is most important to me is whether they are a loving, open, trustworthy, kind person. So, who they are counts a lot more for me.

We are good at determining how someone else is doing by noting their wealth and status. But how does one discern how someone is? It begins by first coming to know who you are. But you’ll never know who you are, until you start focusing on that aspect of yourself and not putting all your attention on what you do. If you are honest with yourself, you will realize that you spend most of your waking hours focusing on what you do rather who you are.

Love is the Divine Transmuter, Part II

In this and my previous blog post I am commenting on a passage from my favorite spirit being, White Eagle. White Eagle is a wonderful soul who was channeled by Grace Cook. There is a wealth of published material available if you want to explore his teachings. For more information go to http://www.whiteagle.org

White Eagle was known as the Gentle Brother because of the tender, loving, yet very powerful spirit that his words and presence embodied. He cut to the chase in all that he said, speaking with a simplicity, yet with a directness and a power that cut through all illusions. His goal was to awaken us from the sloth of our ego and help us instead to take flight with the wings of our Soul.

I would like to continue by commenting on the following passage which is a continuation of the passage in my previous blog post:

We speak as one of you, we suffer as you suffer. The thought comes to us: ‘But why should you, a spirit, suffer because we suffer?’ Because, my brethren, love gives us understanding, it makes us feel with you, as you feel. Yet although we feel with you, and understand you, and absorb from you your heartaches, your sorrows do not weigh us down, because love is the divine transmuter. Love is the alchemist which transmutes the base metal of earthliness, the pain and passions of earth. Love transmutes all this, absorbs it and changes it into pure gold.

This is why you feel strengthened after contact with your guide, and you know that all is well. Your guide has brought you the light and love of God which reigns supreme in the heavenly state, and you are uplifted and strengthened and blessed by it. But you have to learn yourself to receive the cup and transmute the sorrows and sufferings of your earthly life. The Christ in you has to transmute and redeem you; then the lower self passes away and no longer has any power over you.

White Eagle

So, by learning how to regularly tap into the Divine essence of our Soul, namely Love, we can “make all things new.” For Love allows us to see the broadest perspective on any and every situation and it allows us to see the Divine Plan, Order and Timing that are in play in all that we experience. There really is a loving Divine Plan that is working itself out in our lives.

The Master Alchemists of old understood that “all things are good” and that if we can just raise our energies and see it all from the highest perspective, that is Love, that we would then have shifted our consciousness sufficiently to then have transmuted that which appeared to be “lead” to our limited ego mind into pure the “gold” that it was all along. It’s all a matter of perspective.

As Anais Nin wrote: We don't see things as they are. We see things as we are. So, as we raise our vibrations to that of Love, we see Love. If we look for the “lead” in life, we find it. If we look for the “gold,” we see and experience only that.

We are the ones who give meaning and value to the experiences we have; no one else can or does. In and of themselves our experiences are neutral. Therefore, we are both the creators and interpreters of our reality.

So, learn to quiet your mind and open your heart and tap into the essence of who you are on a regular basis and by doing so you will have become a conscious, loving creator of your world, that is you will have become a Master Alchemist.

The world changes according to the way people see it, and if you alter,
even by a millimeter, the way...people look at reality, then you can change it.
James Baldwin

Love is the Divine Transmuter, Part I

In my next two blog posts I will be commenting on a passage from my favorite spirit being, White Eagle.

I would like to begin by commenting on the following passage:

In the world there is too much haste; there is no calm, no period of retirement from the battle of life. Some of you are so eager to get on with a particular plan that you feel yourself frustrated by any halt. You become filled with a kind of fever; and maybe when you are told to be patient you say to yourself, ‘But the people in spirit don’t understand the needs of the flesh and the demands of the earthly life.’

My brother, my sister, we in spirit understand only too well the claims of the physical life, for we have, stored up in our souls, experiences such as you are even now undergoing. So when you are told to make time to withdraw from feverish activity, remember that those who proffer this advice have learned the need for this withdrawal; for surely, surely only in the secret places will man make contact with the Source of his being; only in the secret places can he truly pray.

White Eagle

We are all more often than not in a hurry. We are even in a hurry to find time to relax or meditate or pray. How insane! We find ourselves on a treadmill of “doing” one thing after the other. Do, do, do, do, do--all day long! We keep doing “doo” “dooing” all over ourselves.

We somehow think that it is best for us to ignore our innate desire to find calm, comfort and solace in the “still, quiet place within.” Therefore, we never really get in touch with the essence of who we really are and with what really matters in our lives. “Doing” replaces “Being” and we become human “doings” rather than the human “beings” that we are really meant to be.

We are not on this planet solely for the purpose of feverishly running around trying to get an endless, unrelenting series of unforgiving chores done. We are here to deepen our connection with our Source and to learn how to feel embraced by the Love of God/Goddess and to share that embrace with others. We have eternal life and we are meant to deepen our connection to this eternal part of ourselves and not solely identify with the transient, ephemeral, “doing,” present personality part of ourselves.

Life is an opportunity to learn how to deepen and broaden our ability to give and receive Love. What we accomplish or do externally is only meant to be the backdrop for this schooling in learning how to Love. What we “do” is not meant to be our raison d’etre (our reason for being). Our raison d’etre is about coming to truly know and embody the Love that is at the Source of our Being.

By running around and getting caught up in a series of endless “things to do” we avoid our true purpose and live in denial of our true Selves.

Embrace and Embody Your Soul’s Wisdom and Soar, Part XII

This is Part XII of a twelve part blog. Part I begins on 05/14/07. In order to better understand what follows, it would be best to read the previous parts.

So, in conclusion, learn how to relax and let go emotionally and let God/Goddess and your Guides lead you into the fulfillment of your life.

When you have something that is hard to let go of, ask God/Goddess to take away that old baggage—to simply take it away—and to replace it with clarity. Just hand it over; it’s not your problem any more!

And by just simply doing this, you can release your hold on the problem. And by doing so, you create enough distance from it so that you can see the bigger picture and listen to the guidance that is coming in from a broader perspective.

Doing it the old way from within the box of your ego’s mind, will get you nowhere. It will just get you further boxed in.

So, allow yourself to be helped by God/Goddess. Have faith and confidence in Her/Him. If you can’t let go of a thought or situation, ask God/Goddess to help you release it. And She will. Be patient, gentle, generous and compassionate with yourself and with others.

Constantly keep refocusing the negative “stuff” by asking to see the “Good” in any given situation. As well, honor other people’s journeys rather than judging them, appreciate and accept every one and every thing with gratitude, and always ask yourself: what did this situation or individual teach me and then sit back and listen for the answer?

You are not alone! By no means are you alone! Hold on to God/Goddess’s hand. Do not let go! He/She is your strength and sustenance.

You were never intended to “go it” alone. You are not a “spiritual orphan.” God is always on your side, that is, inside you! So, quiet the ego mind and listen and you will come to hear and Know Thy Self.

So, learn how to look for “Soul”lutions in your life. Rather than trying to it do it all by yourself and then getting stuck in finding only “sole”lutions.

You don’t have to “wing it” on your own anymore. You’re not alone anymore! You have this wonderful group of souls who are very ready and able to assist you in finding your Self and being true to your Self.

You have an incredible well of Wisdom and Love you can tap into at any time. Just ask and then open to receive.

In conclusion, stop and ask yourself; “Who now do I choose to talk to or ‘commune with’ all day long?”

Give it a try! You have absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain. “Everlasting life” is waiting for you!

Please note that the word “communion” or “communicate” comes from the Latin and means to become one with. So, our purpose in life is to “communicate” with God/Goddess so that we can become one with Her/Him and then we can truly come to know and BE who we really ARE!

Peace be with you!

Embrace and Embody Your Soul’s Wisdom and Soar, Part XI

This is Part XI of a twelve part blog. Part I begins on 05/14/07. In order to better understand what follows, it would be best to read the previous parts.

So, take the time every day to connect with and “listen” to your Soul’s promptings. Ask God/Goddess to help you with this. Ask your Guides to help you with this. Just ask and ask and ask and in time you will receive the guidance and clarity you seek.

And you will, through this process, have learned how to no longer listen to your ego, but instead to be guided by the promptings of your Soul. You will then know what it means to live a “Soul-filled” life.

So, whenever you find yourself lost in your thoughts of limitation and fear, ask God/Goddess and your Guides to help you find your way back home again. Ask for clarity and then refocus your negativity to positivity, so that you can release yourself from the yoke of the fears, anger etc that encumber you.

In other words, learn how to give it over to God/Goddess or your Guides for a solution. Don’t try to figure it out all by your self or try to control it, just offer it up to God/Goddess, let go and trust that it all will work out for your Highest Good and for the Highest Good of all concerned.

Your ego mind could not possibly have all the answers, only your God/Goddess mind does. Quiet the ego mind and then listen to the promptings and inspirations you get. Release your fears and let God/Goddess be your strength and inspiration.

Your ego is not strong; it is actually very weak and will eventually crumble at the slightest provocation. Your real strength lies in your connection with God/Goddess and your Guides. There you will find solace, strength and inspiration. There you will find your Self.

This is the source of all real strength and power. All the rest is worldly and will fade. What you have come forth in this lifetime to experience and embody is to really understand and learn what it means to dwell in the Love of the “Embrace;” and by doing so you really will have gained strength and wisdom.

None of us can do it on our own. We are all a part of a wonderful Soul family that is here to guide us to a higher and purer expression of the unconditional Love of God/Goddess. It is all rather incredible and so magnificently beautiful!

Part XII of this blog entry will post on 06/20/07

Embrace and Embody Your Soul’s Wisdom and Soar, Part X

This is Part X of a twelve part blog. Part I begins on 05/14/07. In order to better understand what follows, it would be best to read the previous parts.

So, your Guides are very essential in helping you to feel “connected.” And, with their help and expertise, you can gradually trust that you are held in the heart and hands of the “Embrace” and that you are really, totally and completely cared for and loved.

And then you can flow effortlessly and joyfully down the stream of your life. You can, as well, just slide on over to the passenger’s seat and let them chauffer you around. You can let go of trying to control your life and instead allow it flow to you. You can let go of your ego’s point of view and learn to now see with and through the eyes and heart of God/Goddess.

So, quit trying to control everything! You can’t and you never will. It is totally futile. Learn to surrender your ego’s will and accept and dive, instead, into your Soul’s will for you. Embrace and Embody Your Soul’s Wisdom and Soar!

It’s all about quieting the ego mind and connecting with your Soul. And when you do, you feel so strong, free and light. And then you always know what to do next because it is always intuitively, not intellectually, obvious what is for your Highest Good.

Quiet the mind and learn how to wait and intuitively “listen in” so that you can hear what is for your Highest Good and the Highest Good for all involved. For most of you this is a radically different way of functioning.

Most people try to control events and others by imposing their will on a situation. They do this despite the fact that the actions they take are based on all kinds of false assumptions and partial truths that their ego has “bought into.” And they do it all without any real due diligence; they just do it out of raw impulse or ignorance.

The mind/ego is meant to be a servant of the Soul. But we have turned it all around and allow our ego minds to be the master and we ignore our Soul. We only listen to our minds and we never “hear” our Soul. This is a recipe for disaster!

Embrace and Embody Your Soul’s Wisdom and Soar, Part IX

This is Part IX of a twelve part blog. Part I begins on 05/14/07. In order to better understand what follows, it would be best to read the previous parts.

Another aspect of this that I would like to discuss now is that it is so important that we have a strong, clear loving relationship with our Guides. Firstly, all our healing comes through a direct relationship with God/Goddess and our Higher Self. And it is our Guides who are so pivotal in this process of connecting us with God/Goddess and our Higher Self.

Our Guides know us better than we know ourselves. As well, they can see where are lives are going and can help us to make the best decision regarding any situation that comes up. They know what is for our Highest Good and, if we touch in with them, they can help us find the straightest and clearest path to our healing and awakening.

Guides even help create situations that will help us to grow. They are really there for us. They are a part of our “Soul Family” and really care for us. And, again, they can help us make the best choice for our growth in any given situation.

But so few realize that they exist and even less people realize how helpful they can be. God/Goddess did not leave us out here to fend on our own. There is an incredible support network available to us. We just need to open the channels of communication to them and, boy, oh boy, will our lives change! But if we continue to just listen to our little selves, we will end up missing out on so much of what is possible for us.

So, to create this connection, all you need to formally do is to sit and just “listen” for ten minutes a day. Yup, that’s all! Just sit and quiet the ego mind, connect and listen. You do not need to do it for hours and hours, really!

As well, as you go through your day, keep a constant dialogue going with God/Goddess, your Higher Self and/or your Guides rather than waste your time and energy ‘talking” with a bunch of surly, unruly, negative characters that just drain your energies and have no vision for your life. With God and your Guides, you can dream big and then live those wonderful dreams, but with your low-life motley crew all you get is more of the same, old, sad story.

Be joyful always,
Pray continuously,
Give thanks in all circumstances,
1Thessalonians 5, 16-18

Embrace and Embody Your Soul’s Wisdom and Soar, Part VIII

This is Part VIII of a twelve part blog. Part I begins on 05/14/07. In order to better understand what follows, it would be best to read the previous parts.

You can’t solve a problem at the level that it was created. You must get out of your box—that is your limiting mindset. You must get out of your own way! And the only method to do this with is to learn how to see things through the broadest perspective possible, namely, through the eyes and heart of God/Goddess.

So, it is all about connecting with God/Goddess, your Higher Self and your Guides and it is in this way that you get answers and see the bigger picture. But more important than just getting answers and seeing the broader perspective is “feeling” a sense of “connection” with All That Is. This is “the key.” This is why you were created—so that you could embody and experience this ultimate Love and “communion” with all of creation.

And as you make this connection, you truly learn how to develop unconditional Trust in God/Goddess, your Self and your Guides. As well, you learn how to appreciate that everything is perfect in your life and in Divine Order and Timing. Life becomes a magical adventure rather than a fearful series of unknowns. You now enter into the mysteries of life and can trust and “Let go and let God!”

As well, you learn as you evolve through this process how to develop high acceptance of your circumstances and, as well, how to release your ego’s limited and limiting expectations. This, too, is another key to becoming a Master—acceptance, appreciation and letting go! Once you see the bigger picture this becomes so much easier.

So, lastly, to understand God/Goddess and to develop a relationship with Him, you must be like Her. You are made in His/Her image. You are a reflection of the Source that created you. Be like who you ARE and you will “know!”

The more of God/Goddess in your life, the less needs and voids there will be in your life. Fill up with God/Goddess and you will never again run on empty again or feel alone!

Embrace and Embody Your Soul’s Wisdom and Soar, Part VII

This is Part VII of a twelve part blog. Part I begins on 05/14/07. In order to better understand what follows, it would be best to read the previous parts.

So, in order to bring in these positive, life-affirming energies and for you to return to the Land of your Soul, spoken about previously, talk to God/Goddess all the time; and, while you are at it, feel free to talk to Her/Him about anything! Yes, anything--just as you would with a loved one or a very close friend!

Ask Her/Him questions and trust that you will receive a response. God/Goddess communicates through Love. And Love is everywhere and messages are hidden in His/Her countless expressions Love.

For instance, notice the beautiful cloud formations in the sky, or the warm gentle breeze or the smile of a child, or the beauty of a tree. All these are talking to you! All these are expressing God/Goddess’s Love for you and are answers to your questions, if you just know how to “listen,” if you know the “code.” All of creation is a gift of Love from God.

By contemplating the Love that is all around you, clear answers come to you--no, not through the logical mind, but, instead, through your heart and through the intuitive, non-cognitive right brain.

The language of God/Goddess is Love. If you want to hear God/Goddess and develop a deep personal bond and relationship with Her, you must learn “Love.” You must see Love, look for Love, be Love, become Love, give Love, open to receive Love. Then you’ll get IT!!!! Then you will be able to speak face to face! Then you will find the answers to all your questions.

Also, whenever you find yourself with questions about why you find yourself in a “challenging” situation regarding your relationships, health or wealth, you might want to ask your Higher Self the following question: What lesson is there in this situation that will help me to learn how to more fully and completely love and accept myself or another?

So, rather than trying to avoid the situations you find yourself in, this process will help you to learn how to face them, embrace them and then, after having done that, you will be better able to replace or transmute them. Just ask your Higher Self or God/Goddess to guide you and the keys and answers to your healing will be given. But you must ask and then “listen.”

Embrace and Embody Your Soul’s Wisdom and Soar, Part VI

This is Part VI of a twelve part blog. Part I begins on 05/14/07. In order to better understand what follows, it would be best to read the previous parts.

The best way, I have found, to bring in more of these positive, loving energies is to talk to God/Goddess. Yes, literally chat all day long with God/Goddess. You “chat” all day long with all kinds of other characters in your mind, why not make God/Goddess your primary companion.

At this point, I would like you to literally stop and ask yourself: Who are my primary companions?

Who are you talking to most of the time: your “little self” with all its fears and limiting beliefs; your “imagined” enem(y)ies; your long lost friend; a fictional character; a TV personality? Who are you talking to and why?

And, most importantly ask yourself, “Is this doing me any good?

Why waste energy on “someone” or something that is of no benefit to you!

Also, why assume that it is impossible to talk to God/Goddess and to have a personal relationship with Her, if you have never really tried it? God/Goddess, aka, the “Big Kahuna,” started it all and is certainly the most experienced at Unconditional Love.

So, the real question here is, why do you keep “looking for Love in all the wrong places?”

Go to the Source and give it a try. What in Heaven’s Name do you have to lose--a boring, banal relationship with projections of your “lower self?” Please take the time to slow down enough to notice the company you keep! And when you do, I can assure you that you will want to make a change.

We are meant to be a human expression of God/Goddess. So, why not embody that now? Why not come to truly know your Source? What a great way to spend your time and energy!

Also, if you truly want to build up your self-worth, believe me, this is the best way to do it. Just imagine having a personal, loving, uplifting, eternal relationship with All That Is, your Source. It really doesn’t get any better than this!

So, return to the Land of your Soul. Get back to who you are as a Soul—no longer identify yourself with your present personality and lifetime! This will help you to really ground yourself and bring more fun and freedom into your life.

Embrace and Embody Your Soul’s Wisdom and Soar, Part V

This is Part V of a twelve part blog. Part I begins on 05/14/07. In order to better understand what follows, it would be best to read the previous parts.

Yes, God/Goddess made it simple to create the life you want and to release your negativity, but it isn’t that easy to change your old habitual ways of thinking and feeling-- especially since you have practiced them in many lifetimes and, as well, have had them reinforced by your family and by society in general.

So, this is all a process in which you gradually, like peeling off the layers of an onion, become aware of more and more of the layers of limiting beliefs and negativity that you participate in, and as you do, you gradually release them.

So, to most expeditiously facilitate this process for yourself, begin by becoming very aware of your thoughts.

What do you think about most? What do you worry about most often? What issue, situation, or person is most dominant? Also, ask yourself, what thoughts am I having that I can not let go of? Just sit and listen to yourself; you’ll be amazed at what you find!

This is no different than driving a car. In order to drive a car you must know how to start it, steer it, etc. and then while it is in motion, you must be very cognizant of where you are spatially and where you want to go and where others are relative to you. But you didn’t learn how to do this all at once. It took time. And what was initially a complicated task to achieve, namely driving a car, has now become routine and easy.

So, too, if you give the ruminations of your mind as much attention as you did the mechanics of driving your car, you will gradually become a Master of your thoughts, and, therefore, a Master of your Life.

So, practice raising your level of awareness with regard to how the negativity comes in for you. Also notice what thought patterns leak your energy and then let them go and bring in more positivity.

So, you gradually notice the patterns and then you gradually release them and in time you have created a whole new reality for yourself.

You do this one step at a time: “Inch by inch, it is a cinch; yard by yard, it is hard.”

Embrace and Embody Your Soul’s Wisdom and Soar, Part IV

This is Part IV of a twelve part blog. Part I begins on 05/14/07. In order to better understand what follows, it would be best to read the previous parts.

Your mind is the problem and your mind is the solution!

God/Goddess made it simple for you to get out of this trap where your mind is both the problem and the solution. All you have to do is to shift out of the fear, anger, worry, etc that you usually are focused on and instead move into trust and gratitude!

Shift what you place your attention on from negative to positive; and what you see and experience in your life will be radically transformed. You can change yourself, if you change your self; that is, if you change your thinking!

So, slow down enough to take the time to ask yourself the following: What leaks your energy out, what disconnects you from Source? And when you do, you’ll see that negative thinking is the culprit.

Negativity closes down your ability to receive the Universal prime energy of Love and Wisdom that is there waiting for you to tap into. It puts up a defensive barrier to all the pure positive energy that the Universe wants to pour into you.

Positive thoughts and expectations draw in this pure, positive life force energy through your crown chakra. But when you are in a negative loop, you restrict the flow of these positive, loving energies to you. You close the door to them, so to speak.

The experiences you have in your life are created by the variety of thoughts you have. Happy thoughts create happy and healthy experiences; negative thoughts attract and create unhealthy experiences. You get to choose.

So, too, different cells are created in your body by the different thoughts you dwell on. Happy thoughts create happy and healthy cells, negative thoughts create unhealthy cells. You get to choose.

So, it is very important to observe the limiting beliefs you have that restrict you. Take the time to just “be” quiet with your Self and you will see your patterns. Notice what comes up.

Ask yourself: What makes me lose it? What blocks me from bringing it all in? And then after you identify your energy drains, choose to let them go and then bring in more joy and love.

More about how to do this in the next blog post.

Embrace and Embody Your Soul’s Wisdom and Soar, Part III

This is Part III of a twelve part blog. Part I begins on 05/14/07. In order to better understand what follows, it would be best to read the previous parts.

So many people get caught up in the details and minutiae of life and miss the bigger picture. Many see the dot on the top of the “i” but completely miss the “i” as well as the word that the “i” is contained in, least of all do they even imagine that there is a sentence, paragraph, chapter and whole book that that “i” is a part of. As well, they miss that the book is part of a library that is part of a culture, that is part of a planet, that is part of a solar system, that is..., that is …, ad infinitum…a part of…

We are so much more than that little “i” that we identify ourselves with. We are not the ego mind, we are the Self! We are the Divine Self!

So, I hope to help you to better see the bigger picture that the words above are pointing to through what I will be sharing with you in this series of blogs.

So, how does one learn how to love purely and unconditionally?

It all boils down to developing your own very personal relationship with God/Goddess.

As well, it depends on you developing a very direct connection with your Higher Self.

And the greatest tool you have to help you create this special, personal relationship with God/Goddess and your Higher Self is all your Guides, Mentors, Masters, Angels, etc—your heavenly crew of helpers who are there solely for this purpose—namely they are there to help guide you into a very deep connection, “communion” and oneness with your Self or Soul and with God/Goddess.

These Guides, Mentors, Master, Angels, Extra-Terrestrials, or whatever name or identity you want to give to them, really do exist and they really are here to help you—really!

You are way more powerful than you ever dreamed of, and have all of God/Goddess’s Love and Wisdom surrounding you in every way, wherever you go and whatever you do! That is what your Angels, Guides and Mentors want you to know and feel. You are not alone. You are not a “spiritual orphan.” You are a very powerful being who has a whole host of help at your side!

Embrace and Embody Your Soul’s Wisdom and Soar, Part II

This is Part II of a twelve part blog. Part I begins on 05/14/07. In order to better understand what follows, it would be best to read the previous part.

In order for any of what I will be sharing with you in this series of blog posts to “work” for you, you will have to not only suspend judgment, but also let go of trying to make sense of any of this with your ego, left-brain mind.

“All of reality is not thinking” as Carl Jung wrote. So, in order to get into these new realities, you will have to shift out of your old habitual way of receiving and processing information, that is by using your left-brain and shift instead into a whole new, non-cognitive, non-linear, right-brain way of “knowing,” receiving and processing information.

So, just let go and enjoy the ride! Allow yourself to enter into other realities--other dimensions, other paradigms, other ways of “knowing.” Let a whole new series of worlds open up to you—ones that the mystics and sages of old have been pointing to for millennia.

So, join me now on a magical, mystery tour into your Self and the world of Unconditional Love and Perennial Wisdom.

Ultimately, from my point of view, it all comes down to the following question:

What is my Purpose in this Life?

And, for me, at least, the answer to that question all boils down to learning how to Love, embrace, appreciate and accept myself, my experiences, others and the whole Universe unconditionally. My purpose in life is definitely not about acquiring, skills, power, possessions, positions, etc. It’s all about learning how to Love.

Of course, in the process of learning how to love unconditionally, you may, in fact, acquire some skills, power, possessions, positions, etc. But it’s not about any of these “things” that your life is really all about.

Actually, you don’t need any of the above “things” to learn how to love; poverty and misfortune can teach you the same lesson. You have your experiences simply and solely to help you, as quickly and permanently as possible, to learn how to love at higher and higher levels of purity and unconditionality.

Embrace and Embody Your Soul’s Wisdom and Soar, Part I

This is Part I of a twelve part blog.

This next series of blog posts can be read on their own, though they are a continuation of a theme that I have been developing the past month or so. In order to get the full context for what follows you might want to go back and read my blog posts entitled: What Does it Mean to Have a “Personal” Relationship with God/Goddess? posted 04/16/07 and Who are You Really Talking to All Day Long and Why! The Art of Mindfulness, posted 04/30/07.

If we take the time to become aware of it, we discover that we are constantly having some kind of an internal dialogue going on in our minds. And as I wrote in my earlier blogs most of it is repetitious, boring and usually rather negative.

What I would like to share with you in this next series of blog posts is how one can channel this previously mostly wasted energy of negative mind drivel into something very wonderful, life transforming and enriching.

Instead of spending most your energies rehashing old, worn-out scenarios or dialogues in your mind, why not take that time and energy to consciously and intentionally develop a personal relationship with God/Goddess, your Higher Self and your Guides?

I realize that for some of you the above statement, in and of itself, may seem rather absurd. But I ask you to reserve judgment until you have both read through what I have to offer and tried what I suggest.

Yes, I understand that many believe that a personal relationship with God/Goddess is either unimportant or impossible, but until you have taken the time to try it out, please hold off judging the proposition. [See my previous blog posts referred to above for more about this.]

Also, many believe developing a relationship with our Guides is also rather preposterous-- that any such relationship is basically a projection and not real. Well, that’s what I thought about it at one point, but as time went on, I began to develop a very real connection and communion with an incredible group of energies that was more “real” than real. I have no doubt that what I presently experience is not projection. It is very, very real.

As well, for me the concept of connecting with my Higher Self had also been one that was, initially, quite hard to grasp. It all felt so amorphous, ethereal and hard to believe, but, in time, I was able to learn how to shift into an awareness that allowed me to “hear” and “listen” to my Self, that is my Higher Self. And, boy, oh boy, it has been such a blessing and wellspring of incredible comfort, guidance and wisdom since then.

What does it Mean to Have a “Personal” Relationship with God/Goddess? Part IV

This is Part IV of a four part blog. Please see my blog entry of 04/23/07 for Part III.

We were never meant to “wing it” on our own. We were meant to fly in a beautiful, harmonious formation together with God/Goddess and others. And this support, strength and clarity is there for the asking and it is very, very real.

But you must first let go of your belief that it is not possible or perhaps not necessary or not cool or in vogue nowadays to develop this personal relationship with God/Goddess. I am not referring to a relationship that relies on someone else’s rigid understanding of how you should do it. But on one that relies totally on the unique way you choose to do it!

For without a strong, personal sense of connection or communion with God/Goddess you will find yourself always “looking for love in all the wrong places.” As well, you are more than likely to be pursuing goals that are not really for your Highest Good. Also, they are likely to be goals that do not best express the essence and the gifts of who you are.

But you no longer need to look or wander aimlessly. The Way is there. Just look within. It is all an “inside job.”

It is really all about coming to “Know your Self.” For when you come to “Know Thy Self, you come to know God/Goddess.

When you look within, you are looking at a mirror that is simply reflecting You back to you. And then you begin to realize that you have been talking to your Self all the time. That You and God/Goddess are One!

You begin to realize that what is possible for you is truly infinite. You realize that the potential of the whole Universe has now opened up for you. And like a child you now begin to live each day in awe of the wonder and beauty of it all and you now really trust and know that all is well.

So, creating a personal relationship with God/Goddess is what it is all about. It is the real purpose of your life, of everyone’s!

“You must be a child to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.”

NB Please do think about what you have just read, just “feel” it; don’t think it and you then will “know” if it resonates with you.

What does it Mean to Have a “Personal” Relationship with God/Goddess? Part III

This is Part III of a four part blog. Please see my blog entry of 04/18/07 for Part II.
So, if you want a real relationship with God/Goddess, you must develop one on your own by talking to God/Goddess daily—moment to moment even.

This is what I believe St. Paul meant when he said: “Be joyful always. Pray continuously. Give thanks in all circumstances.” With this attitude and in this way, you gradually develop your connection and relationship with God/Goddess. As in any good relationship, it takes time and consistency for it to really gel. But when it does, it is so, so special. And it is so unique and eternal!

Yes, you can ask others how they do it and follow some of their techniques, but ultimately, you have to figure out what works best for you and what your style is. You need to claim the uniqueness of who you are. And you need to truly feel a sense of connection, confidence and communion with who you really are and then you can claim your own distinctive relationship with God/Goddess.

And it is so, so important to understand that this is not just another relationship. This is the ultimate relationship of all your relationships. This is “the big Kahuna,” so to speak.

Your sense of Self, stability, love and strength all lie in your ability to develop this relationship. Without it you are lost and will feel alone. Without it you will try to fill up the voids that you feel within yourself with all kinds of dysfunctional behaviors and experiences. But you will get nowhere.

Without it you will try to get things done or accomplished in your life or make changes in yourself emotionally or physically, but will eventually find your self up against a wall, frustrated and confused that nothing seems to be working.

It is at this point that you finally realize that you were never meant to do it on your own. But that there is a profound wellspring of Love and support that is there waiting, patiently and lovingly, for you to ask for help, support and strength. And when you ask, It always responds. And all that is left for you to do after you have asked is to really listen and to pay attention to the response you get and then trust and act on the inspirations and insights that you receive.

What does it Mean to Have a “Personal” Relationship with God/Goddess? Part II

This is Part II of a four part blog. Part III will be posted on 04/23/07.

So, if you want a real relationship with God/Goddess, you must develop one on your own by talking to God/Goddess daily—moment to moment even. And when I say here, “talk to God/Goddess,” I mean just that.

You actually talk to God/Goddess as you would to a real friend or a loved one. In time you learn how to communicate—that is, to be heard and to really listen. In time you really develop an ongoing, enriching conversation and interaction, albeit somewhat different than the kind you would have with another person. [In a future blog post I will say more about the kind of relationship you can develop.]

You’ll be amazed to discover what you learn about your Self and the world you live in when you develop a personal relationship with God/Goddess. By being in constant communion with God/Goddess, the most incredible gift you receive is the ability to see everyone and everything through the eyes and heart of God/Goddess.

This way of seeing is a completely different experience from your common way of perceiving things which is one that is limited by the narrow-minded filters and fears of your belief systems. Having this direct relationship opens you up to a whole new world. You get to see everything in a totally new light.

As well, by developing this personal relationship you become like God/Goddess. You become more and more fashioned in His/Her Image. You rise above your human, imperfect emotions, identifications and interpretations and instead see clearly and with the eyes of Love. You learn to accept and appreciate it all.

As well, rather than just relying on yourself to change or get things done in your life, you now begin to allow His/Her strength and Love to flow through you and that is when miracles can and do happen in your life. You learn that you are never alone and that together with God/Goddess everything is possible. You come to understand that on your own so little is really possible, but in partnership with God/Goddess all things are possible.

What does it Mean to Have a “Personal” Relationship with God/Goddess? Part I

This is Part I of a four part blog.

Well, a personal relationship with God/Goddess is just that—very “personal.” It is very unique and special. A personal relationship with God/Goddess is no different from any other relationship you might have with someone very close and dear to you.

In the most intimate and close of relationships—say that of a parent and a child--the mother of the child has a very different relationship with her child as compared to the relationship that the father has with the same child. So, too, the child has a very different relationship with each of his/her parents. As well, siblings have very different relationships with each other.

So, your relationship with God/Goddess is very, very special and very much a function of who “you” are. No two relationships with God/Goddess are ever or can ever be the same.

Also, (and this point is very important to understand) for the relationship to be a “real” one, it must be one that you, on your own, have directly with God/Goddess. No one else is listening in, no one else is involved. It is purely and privately your relationship—it is just between you and God/Goddess period!

There are rather antiquated and dysfunctional belief systems out there that suggest that you need an intermediary in order to have a relationship with God/Goddess. That simply is not true.

A parent wants to have a direct relationship with their offspring. So, too, does the child want to have a direct relationship with his/her parents. No intermediaries are necessary or wanted. Otherwise, it is not a relationship. It is not personal. It is not intimate. It will go nowhere.

Your relationship with God is literally like that of a child with his/her parents; it is not like the relationship of a mail room clerk with the CEO of a Fortune 500 company. It is personal, genuine, intimate and very satisfying.

The Keys to Awakening and Ascension, Part II

This is Part II of a two Part blog. Go to my blog entry of 04/09/07 for Part I.

How can you live your life not knowing who you ARE?

It is the most important question you can ask yourself. It is the most important quest you can embark on in your life. And it is precisely why you have incarnated this time.

Your purpose in coming forth in this dimension at this time is to come to truly, finally and completely “Know Thy Self.” To finally without a scintilla of a doubt know who you ARE so that you can embody and experience that “knowing” throughout the rest of your eternity.

In other words you have come forth this time to totally “get” this lesson and to then move on to greater and greater experiences and realizations of the Love of God/Goddess.

For each one of you the process of getting the answer to the question of “Who Am I?” will be different. So, there is no one way to find the answer nor is there the same answer for every one.

But as you ask the question, you begin to eliminate who you are not and then eventually you come to know who you are.

You will know that you are there, that is, that you have found the answer, when you have stopped asking the question. For there is no answer to the question of ´”Who AM I.” Actually, there is not even the question. There is just the profound experience of your Self as God/Goddess.

And when that “knowing” comes over you, you know you “know” who you are and why you are, but it no longer matters!

For now you have found your Self and all your questions have now turned into answers.

So, what was once a big “WHY” no longer matters. And the big “WHY” has now turned into a big “Y” that stands for and sees it all as one big “YES!”

So, seek ye first your Self and all will be added!
NB Please do think about what you have just read, just “feel” it; don’t think it and you then will “know” if it resonates with you.

This is Part II of a two part blog.

The Keys to Awakening and Ascension, Part I

Becoming awakened is very simple. Just learn how to "be present" with your Self and this will allow you to be awakened to who you really are.

For this precisely is what awakening really is--knowing who you ARE in all your magnificence and splendor! "Being present" with your Self is the key that will help you to open the doors to the mystery and majesty of who you are.

This is Part I of a two part blog. Part II will be posted on 04/11/07.

The Art or HeArt of Channeling, Part X

In this series of blogs and podcasts, I will be focusing on the topic of Channeling. For five weeks I will post on my blog a transcription of a session I presented on this topic.

In order to make sense of all of this and to be able to best follow the flow, please start at Part I which begins with my blog entry on March 5, 2007.

So, what follows is a session of “channeling” that I did a number of years ago. Please note that the energies/beings that are being channeled refer to themselves as “we.”

What follows now is a transcription of a meditation that the group was lead in. I have chosen to include it here because I feel that just reading the words and sensing and feeling what they are pointing to can be very healing and enlightening and can help you to switch into a real sense of who you are. Please read it meditatively. This is part III of the meditation, the final part. EnJoy! Please go to my podcast of April 6, 2007 to be lead in the full meditation.

“Now we would ask you to come out of this natural spring, out of this whirlpool and find a rock or a grassy knoll to sun your self upon. Just get up and find the sunny spot and then just lie there and feel the warmth of the sun. Feel the embrace of the earth. Feel heaven and earth uniting within you.

For as creators, made in His/Her image, you bring together all of heaven and earth and within you is the potential to experience it all without separation or duality, but to just feel, to just feel the oneness of it all and your oneness with it all.

Feel yourself as the convergence of heaven, of earth, of spirit, of matter. Yes, a center. Each one of you is the center of God/Goddess. And the number of centers is infinite. Feel what that might mean. Not with your minds but with your hearts, remembering, remembering, remembering …

As you lie there now feeling your connection to All That Is, allow yourself to invite in any guides, angels, masters, mentors, ancestors, etc. that work with you known or unknown, seen or felt. Let this be very spontaneous!

Feel them taking care of you and embracing you. For they know you. They know you, for they have known you before you forgot you, and they are here to remind you of that real you. They are here to help you forget that which is not you.

Allow them to inspire, to impress you, to fill you to overflowing, as you continue your connection to All That Is, feeling the oneness, the wholeness. We leave you now to experience, to feel, to connect and we shall return briefly. Pause…

The goal this afternoon was to bring you to that place of connection so that your experience of it might be so solid, so clear, so rich and so full that you might never again forget. So that as you go forth in your life, no matter what circumstances may be there before you, you are in this place of connection and you know, without a doubt, that you always are held in the hands and the heart of God/Goddess and that all is in Divine Order and Divine Timing.

Start now to come out by gradually beginning to sense your physical body and the room that you are sitting in. And when you are ready you can begin to open your eyes, taking a few deep breaths to ground yourself and feeling more refreshed and more at peace than when we began. Again at your own pace you may open your eyes, more refreshed and more at peace than when we began.

This is part X and the conclusion of a 10 part blog and the final part of the three part meditation. Please go to my podcast of April 6, 2007 to be lead in the full meditation.

In this series of blogs and podcasts, I will be focusing on the topic of Channeling. For five weeks I will post on my blog a transcription of a session I presented on this topic.

“Imagine that there is a whirlpool nearby, a natural spring. Bring yourself to this natural spring and allow yourself to just sit in this spring. You can sit in it and it doesn’t go above your head. It feels like a spa made especially for you and the water is the perfect temperature and is so refreshing, cleansing and healing for you.

You feel the whirling and the swirling of the energies of the water and it cleanses you. It washes away all the energetic debris you have accumulated. You allow yourself to just sink into this healing, into this connection. Again you are not separate from this water that you sit in nor are you separate from this natural environment. You are one with it. It is you, you are it. You see it in yourself and it reflects you back to you as you look at it.

Feel the energies, the waters massage your toes and rub the bottoms of the soles of your feet, cleansing you deeper and deeper. Feel the water now flowing up to your calves, your knees, your thighs, your hips.

Feel the cleansing energy and as this energy cleanses it brings to you the understanding we spoke of earlier of not being separate from but one with All That Is. Feel it flowing now into your torso, your abdomen (both the front and the back), your arms, your hands as it continues now to flow up to your neck.

If you wish just dunk your head into the water now and feel it caress and envelop your head and your hair. Now as you slowly take your head out of the water and shake your hair out, you feel golden rivulets of love and light all around you and within you.”

What follows now is a transcription of a meditation that the group was lead in. I have chosen to include it here in my next three blog posts because I feel that just reading the words and sensing and feeling what they are pointing to can be very healing and enlightening and can help you to switch into a real sense of who you are. Please read it meditatively. EnJoy! Please go to my podcast of April 6, 2007 to be lead in the full meditation.

“So we ask you now to close your eyes and we will lead you in a meditation. We would like you now to integrate what we have spoken of. So, just begin to close you eyes and get comfortable, get comfortable within yourself. Take a couple of deep breathes to ground your self…

Open to receiving, imagine now your crown chakra, at the top of your head, opening as if it were a cup and let that cup be as large as you wish it to be. Feel it acting like a funnel for these energies so that you might be filled to overflowing with an understanding, a knowing, of who you really are. Feel the living waters, the living light flow into the top of your head and then gradually let it flow throughout your whole body all the way down to the bottoms of your feet…

Feel yourself now being filled with this energy and let it remind you that you are not separate from this energy, but that you are the Spirit of God/Goddess Her Self. Feel it enveloping you, feel it filling you…

Take another deep breath, and now we would like you to imagine that you are in the Garden of Eden, that you are in a pristine place of new beginnings, of connection, of holiness, of sacredness, of purity, of love.

Begin now to allow yourself to feel the embrace of the energies of the sun as you open to receiving its warmth, its light. Feel it warming every cell in your being. Feel it filling you inside and out…

As well, open up to the all the creatures large and small that you can see and those that you can’t see that are all around you…

As well, open to energies of the vegetation and the trees, to the sky, to the perfumed air.

Feel, sense your self not as separate from all these but as one with all these sensations, all these creatures, all these beings, all these energies. Not outside of you but inside of you - feeling, tasting, touching, sensing smelling, hearing, knowing, seeing. Your God/Goddess essence is everywhere. It is within and it is without; it is you, too.”

In order to make sense of all of this and to be able to best follow the flow, please start at Part I which begins with my blog entry on March 5, 2007.

So, what follows is a session of “channeling” that I did a number of years ago. Please note that the energies/beings that are being channeled refer to themselves as “we.”

“Some of these individuals you know of historically, others have never been recorded in your history. As well, there are many who have attained this awareness, way before what you call your recorded history. And it is they, all of them, who work as a force to help you to remember what we speak of.

We, they, have been labeled the White Brotherhood by some and we laugh. As well, we have been labeled “Ascended Masters” or Buddha “this” or Krishna “that” or whatever name you have chosen to give us. We do not see our selves in that light. We do not give any one of us any more importance than another, nor do we see ourselves as more than you, for we are all made of the same “stuff” – of that God/Goddess substance.

And so, yes, we perhaps now “see” a little better than you do, but your blindness, your myopia now is but temporary and the potential, power and love we see within you is so, so real. It is what we already are experiencing within ourselves and what you can experience, too. So we ask you to just entertain what we have been offering this afternoon as a possibility. We ask you not think too much about it, but allow the energy or the essence of what has been said to just seep in.

You cannot grasp with your minds that which is of God/Goddess. You can’t even speak of God/Goddess with your minds. It is why it has been said your soul resides in your heart for it is there that the doorway is located to your God Self, to your Soul, to your true identity. Please learn to feel with your heart and not think so much with your minds. And then all that we have been saying will be crystal clear!”

In order to make sense of all of this and to be able to best follow the flow, please start at Part I which begins with my blog entry on March 5, 2007.

So, what follows is a session of “channeling” that I did a number of years ago. Please note that the energies/beings that are being channeled refer to themselves as “we.”

“And so this whole process begins, as has been said by many teachers, by totally and completely loving Thy Self. What we have been describing up to this moment is precisely this, namely: How to love Thy Self.

God/Goddess does not see Her/Himself as separate from Him/Herself but adores all of Her Self. We ask you to completely adore, appreciate and accept yourself. And in that adoration, appreciation and acceptance you will then be able to see that same God/Goddess in others; and you, too, then as God/Goddess will be able to see in another your Self.

This is what unconditional love is all about. It is not a sappy, clingy, codependent state of bondage, but an appreciation, an acceptance and an adoration of all that one is, sees, and experiences. And, as well, it is an appreciation, an acceptance and an adoration of every one and every thing else.

You are not separate from anyone or anything. The sense of separation is simply a belief system you have taken on in third dimensional reality on this planet called Earth to learn and to grow through and with, but it is not ultimately true. For as we look at this world and it’s “problems,” and as we look at each one of you and your “problems,” clearly all of them stem from what we’ve been speaking about; namely, your lack of a sense of connection to the core or essence of “who” you really ARE.

So, it begins and ends with you understanding who you really are. Throughout your recorded history there have been a few individuals who have attained this understanding of who they really ARE. Actually “understanding” is a weak word that does not adequately describe what we mean. What might better describe what we mean is that there have been a few individuals who have attained this vibration of energy or awareness.”

“It’s okay to give a name to God/Goddess. And in many traditions there are many names for God/Goddess and in many of the traditions you recite the names of God/Goddess in order to help you feel connected. But please remember this, that each one of your names is a name/expression of God/Goddess. Each one of you is a finite expression of that which you call God/Goddess.

You come to events such as these so that you might find healing, so that you might find wholeness, so that you might find your true Selves. When you find your true Self, who you really are, that is how you find that healing, that wholeness, that salvation which you seek. You find it by finding who you really ARE.

It is not found by seeking the right remedy or a healing from someone else. It is not found by hearing the right word or the right teaching from someone else. It is not found in someone else, period! It is within you.

It is simply not true that someone else has an understanding or wisdom that you don’t have. When you interact with someone and have an insight; it is not their insight that you now have gained, but what is happening here is that you are now seeing reflected in them something that you had forgotten, but that now you are remembering about You. You are gaining you own insight into your Self and about your Self.

No one has more or knows more than you do. How could they? For if you allow yourself to tap into the essence of who you are, if you erase all the limiting images and beliefs of who you are from your memory bank, if you truly feel the essence of who you are, you come to know without a doubt that you are now whole, you are now healed. And you know that you know all the answers to all your questions! You now know Your Self and trust your Self. It doesn’t get any better than this! This is Self-Mastery! This is Awakening!”

So, what follows is a session of “channeling” that I did a number of years ago. Please note that the energies/beings that are being channeled refer to themselves as “we.”

“Many of you still believe that God/Goddess is somehow outside of you. You can believe or buy into that belief, so to speak, or you can buy into the belief that God/Goddess is inside of you. But for many of you, even after you have decided to accept that God/Goddess must be within you, still perceive this concept as if God/Goddess has somehow just left one kernel, one atom of HerSelf inside you, perhaps in your heart, and then somehow the rest of Her/Him is still outside of you somewhere.

No way! She/He is inside all of you, period!

Do not in any way diminish your value by believing that there is only this one little, itsy-bitsy kernel of God “stuff” inside of you and then there is all the rest of you that is separate from God/Goddess.

Take a moment and ask yourself: Who AM I? Are you separate from that which is All That Is? If you believe in that separateness, you then are, in fact, separate. But if you allow yourself to remember that you aren’t separate or less than, then you remember who you really are and that you are One.

And how can you remember? Let go of your ego. Let go of the limiting beliefs that you have bought into that you are only your body, your thoughts or your present experiences. These beliefs are really like a “death penalty.” But there is no “death.” You have “eternal life.” You are “eternal life.” You are made in His/Her image! Any belief other than that is simply misguided!

So, understand that God/Goddess is not inside you nor is God/Goddess outside you. God/Goddess is YOU.

You are God/Goddess in finite form who has taken on this present personality temporarily in order to learn how to further expand your ability to love.

When God/Goddess looks at you, She sees you as Her Self. You are a mirror, a reflection of Her to Her. When you see yourself who do you see, a name or a personality Linda or Jen or Jill or Mike? Or do you see God/Goddess? Who do you see?”

“What is so important to understand here is that most of you do not understand that YOU are God/Goddess. You temporarily and incorrectly see yourself as a third dimensional being with limitations, living on this planet called Earth in this lifetime, and only identify with this particular lifetime and personality. But you don’t even remember, least of all acknowledge, most of the lifetimes you’ve lived. You are a very old soul, a very wise soul, a soul with enormous resources available to you, if you but allow your ego’s interpretation of you to just drop away. Once you do, you will remember! You will truly know! Everyone is like this!

Perhaps all you focus on now and remember are your limitations and failures. Too many of you look for what is wrong with you. You define your life in a very narrow way and you see yourself as a finite, limited being. Every once in a while another image or feeling of a much higher vibration flows into you about you. Every once in a while you remember that you are so much more than just the experiences your ego is having!

But who you are now in the present is an “out picturing” of who you believe you are. And when you remember and know and understand that God/Goddess is You and not just within you, but really, really is you, then you can begin to open to that “channeling” that we spoke of before. Then you will allow for true “inspiration” to flow to you and through you!

You then become that channel, that finite expression of Godness and of wholeness and of fullness. This is what “true channeling” is all about. It is not about channeling another being outside of you, but it is a process of connecting with the God/Goddess essence or core of who you are and letting it all flow to you and through you.”

In order to make sense of all of this and to be able to best follow the flow, please start at Part I which begins with my blog entry on March 5, 2007.

So, what follows is a session of “channeling” that I did a number of years ago. Please note that the energies/beings that are being channeled refer to themselves as “we.”

“As well, one can channel with one’s eyes wide open while speaking in their normal voice and it is still channeling. [I have had this happen many, many times for myself. It is a situation in which I don’t have any idea what I’m saying. I have not preplanned a word of what I am speaking about. Just a series of images, impressions, thoughts and feelings keep coming up that inspire me as to what to say one moment to the next. While this is going on, I actually find myself listening to my words and internally saying to myself, “Hey that makes sense. I like that!” While this is happening my eyes are open and it looks like I am having a normal dialogue or conversation, but I am not.]

And so this is also a part of the phenomenon called channeling. Why we are making such a point of this now is because it is so, so important for you to realize that: You all “channel” in some form or another at different times and in many different ways. You have all had moments in “the zone” or moments of pure clarity, insight, foreknowing or inspiration. You have all been inspired in some form or another.

You may have chosen to ignore the inspiration and go against it because it wasn’t in your belief system to trust it. Or you may have been clueless that you were in fact being inspired and somehow thought that the bulk of what you were feeling and saying was coming from your own ego mind.

But the whole point of this discussion is not to get you to become a “medium” who “channels” some “other” ethereal being, but the point here is for you to get in touch with the core of who you really are and “channel” your Self or your Higher Self. No, not your ego’s little self, but your God(dess) Self that is at your core and that is definitely at the core of everyone. So, the whole point here is to help you to learn how to connect with and to channel and embody the Spirit of the God/Goddess that is within you.”

The Art or HeArt of Channeling, Part I

In my next series of blogs and podcasts, I will be focusing on the topic of Channeling. Over the next five weeks I will post on my blog a transcription of a session I presented on this topic.

So, what follows is a session of “channeling” that I did a number of years ago. Please note that the energies/beings that are being channeled refer to themselves as “we.”

“In modern times there are people who have been labeled as mediums or psychics. We have always been uncomfortable with these labels because they imply that the person channeling is somehow better than everyone else or special in some unique or other worldly way. They are not! Everyone can “channel.” As well, we are uncomfortable with the word “channeling” itself because it implies that there is some other being taking the speaker over.

Now to clarify what we are saying, when someone is channeling it doesn’t mean that there aren’t other energies that are present and supporting the process of “inspiring” you while you channel. There certainly are, whether you call them The Holy Spirit, the Buddhist Spirit, the Hindu Spirit, the Muslim Spirit, Aunt Fran, Uncle Al----whatever--- it doesn’t matter what you call them.

But what really is happening during the process of channeling is that one is being filled with inspiration. For your information, “inspire” comes from the Latin word that means “to be filled with spirit.” What channeling, from our point of view is all about, is being “inspired;” that is, it is about being filled with the spirit. But what spirit?

You all have guides, mentors, masters, angels, ancestors, etc. that are with you all the time. They are there to protect and inspire you. They were there with you at “the get go” and “the get go,” by the way, started way before you showed up on this planet. In other words, they have been with you for a very, very, very long time. They have been with you from the beginning, from your beginning.

As you are probably aware, there are different forms or kinds of channeling. For instance, while channeling some mediums’ voices change dramatically, their eyes stay closed and all kinds of spiritual phenomena occur while they are speaking. The Spiritualist Churches practice this kind of mediumship”

Our Suffering Teaches Us How to Become Masters of Love, Part VI

This is Part VI of a six part blog. In order to understand and make best use of what follows, please see my previous entries of 02/12/07 for Part I, of 02/14/07 for Part II, of 02/19/07 for Part III, of 02/21/07 for Part IV and of 02/26/07 for Part V.

Love is the only gold.
Tennyson

Be assured that if you follow anyone other than your Self, you will surely get lost.

Take the time to really “listen” to your Self and all will become crystal clear.

Below are a few phrases that will help you to keep your focus clear in this regard:

God/Goddess loves you no matter what because in doing so, He/She loves Him/Herself.

Don’t take your life’s experiences personally, these experiences are not who you ARE! They are just steps on your path to Awakening! You ARE so much more!

Hang in there! You CAN do it! And actually you ARE doing it!

Trust the process and Trust your Self!

Fear is the ultimate illusion. Empowerment the ultimate truth!

It’s all a series of conclusions about a series of delusions.

When you appreciate something, you allow yourself to fully receive it!

Rather than “making the best of it,” “make it the best!”

Can you put on your armor and shields of sacredness and walk through the sorrow, fear and disappointment of what other Humans have done, without
judgment of them or without being discouraged?

Our Suffering Teaches Us How to Become Masters of Love, Part V

This is Part V of a six part blog. In order to understand and make best use of what follows, please see my previous entries of 02/12/07 for Part I, of 02/14/07 for Part II, of 02/19/07 for Part III and of 02/21 for Part IV.

All that you previously interpreted with your ego’s eyes as failure and “suffering” is now seen as just steps leadings you out of the illusion of your separateness and aloneness and instead into the realms of Oneness, Light and Love that your Higher Self or Soul dwells in eternally.

Even the Awakened One, the Buddha, proclaimed:

It is hard to be born a human being,
and hard to live the life of one.
It is even harder to hear of the path;
and harder still to awake, to rise and to follow.

But once all this “suffering” is seen as the illusion that it really is, then the true Light of who you really are finally awakens within you and then you can own, know, integrate and embody it in a way that it becomes you and you become IT.

So, let go of your ego’s desire to have things always go your way, i.e. the way you “think” they should.

Let go of the need to hold onto things that are already as you desire so they will continue to be what you want. Believe me, they never will remain the same. The only constant in this universe is “change.”

Let go of trying to control others, you never will!

Let go of your fears, projections and defenses.

Let go of the need to make others wrong or right or to judge them.

Just dwell in the Light of your Soul by sitting in meditation and all will be revealed to you! “Be still and know!” Listen to the “still, small voice within!” It will lead you to your Self.

Love is the only gold.
Tennyson

Come out of the circle of time into the circle of love.
Rumi

This state of love is not a denial of reality, but rather an acceptance and true appreciation of it! It is an understanding that all of life is an eternal journey into a greater and greater ability to love, appreciate and embrace more and more of one’s experiences!

Love is the only gold.
Tennyson

Our purpose here on this planet is not to acquire information and “things,” but to learn how to really love. And so when we are at our lowest and yet are still able to reach up to love and reach out for love, we then truly will have mastered what Love is all about. For by reaching out for love, we shed light into the darkness. We turn chaos into order. We transform lead into gold. We truly tap into the essence of love and become the Master Alchemist! We turn all our “suffering” or our illusions into gold!

If in the depths of despair you seek Love’s guidance and surrender fully to its tender embrace, then truly you have learned what it means to have “Love” and that knowing will remain with you and continue to grow within you throughout eternity. But if, on the other hand, you just make love an intellectual exercise, you learn nothing about love and are left empty and unfulfilled.

So, when your body is not functioning well, but you can still love it, you have learned what it means to love unconditionally.

So, when your best friend or lover has left you and yet you can still love yourself, you have learned how to truly love yourself.

So, when you financial situation has bottomed out, but you can still appreciate the wonder and beauty of life and of yourself and still know that you are good and can thrive, you have learned what it means to love.

And when another has harmed you and you can still love them and yourself, truly you have learned what love is.

Our Suffering Teaches Us How to Become Masters of Love, Part II

This is Part II of a six part blog. In order to understand and make best use of what follows, please see my previous entry of 02/12/07 for Part I.

I am not afraid of storms,
for I am learning how to sail my ship.
Louisa May Alcott

We create our reality. Everything that “happens to us” is part of a master plan or blueprint that is helping us to “become,” grow and heal in ways that will truly allow us to develop and manifest all the potential within us.

Seeing our experiences through our Soul’s perspective will lead us away from where our limited awareness is presently focused to an unlimited, eternal and infinite vision of who we really are and will put into perspective why we are experiencing what we are experiencing.

So, it is those who have experienced the greatest sense of loss and suffering in their lives who have risen to the greatest heights and depths of wisdom and love.

What is to give light must endure burning.
Victor Frankl

Our Suffering Teaches Us How to Become Masters of Love, Part I

This is Part I of a six part blog,

In the depth of winter,
I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer.
Albert Camus

The gift that suffering bestows upon us is that it teaches us how to become Masters of Love!

That which we call “suffering” is an experience we create for ourselves so that we can refine or increase our ability to love ourselves, love another and love the whole of the creation. When we “suffer” we ultimately feel abandoned and alone. As well, we feel that we are unworthy and unlovable. But all of this is just the ultimate illusion, an illusion that has us believing that we are somehow separate from God/Goddess and somehow undeserving of His/Her love.

We are meant to have dominion over all the creation. But that dominion is not one of “possession,” but it is a dominion of love. It is the dominion of one who is the caretaker and caregiver. It is not a dominion of “the hording of things,” but it is a stewardship of caring for all. And the way that we earn that dominion is to be more and more able to love, appreciate and embrace it all.

But how does one learn to “love/appreciate” it all.

Most of us believe that suffering is something that is inflicted upon us by an outside force. Whether it is illness, financial ruin, relationship issues, natural or human-made disasters, etc., we see ourselves as a “victim” of circumstances.

The problem with this way of looking at the experiences you are having is that by seeing yourself as a “victim,” you are giving away your ownership of the situation and are therefore, giving away your “power” to change it.

Create a New Vision/Vibration for Yourself! Part IV

This is Part IV of a four part blog. Please see my previous blog entries of November 20, 22 & 27 for parts I, II & III.

“Without a vision, the people will perish.” “Without a vision, you will perish.”

For more information of this topic, see my book: Magical Keys to Self-Mastery: Creating Miracles in Your Life.

Create a New Vision/Vibration for Yourself! Part III

This is Part III of a three part blog. Please see my previous blog entries of November 20 & 22 for parts I & II

So, you must first honestly and lovingly “Face” yourself (i.e., your thoughts and feelings) and then “Embrace” them (accept what you find) and then you can begin to gradually “Replace” them with a clear vision of who you really are and what you really want to create in your life and with your life.

So, to summarize, you hold this “imagined reality” in your mind to the point where your subconscious actually believes it to be so real that it goes about making it manifest in your life. Once you have this clear image in your mind, your subconscious will then attract the circumstances, people, and opportunities you need to bring about the vision you have “imagined.”

Or, on the other hand, if you are not connected to a clear positive image, and are in a negative default mode of thinking and feeling, you will then attract the nightmare you dread!

Create a New Vision/Vibration for Yourself! Part II

This is Part II of a four part blog. Please see my previous blog entry of November 20 for part I

By the way, you can’t just sit one time to get the full picture, but if you sit consistently with yourself, within just a few weeks, you will get a pretty clear picture of what your predominant thoughts and feelings are. Then because of this awareness, or “mindfulness” as the Buddhists call it, you will now be more conscious of what you are vibrating and, therefore, more able to change it.

After you have taken the time to really see your patterns, it then becomes easier for you to create a clear vision about your future and a practical plan for success.

But until you have taken the time to look within, you literally are in the “dark” about yourself. And in the dark it is very difficult to see or create a vision for your self. You really do need to shed light on the darkness within in order to create something new without.

This is Part II of a four part blog. Please see my next blog entry of November 27 for part III.

November 20, 2006

Create a New Vision/Vibration for Yourself! Part I

This is Part I of a four part blog.

The essence of all things and experiences is vibration. All our thoughts, feelings and actions have their own particular rates of vibration. These vibrations set up a resonance with whatever has a similar or identical frequency.

This is why it is so, so essential to be a very close observer of your thoughts and feelings. The way you think, feel and act creates the primary vibration of your being, i.e., your “energy signature.” This fundamental “energy signature” then creates resonance with similar vibrational frequencies in the universe wherever they may be. The result is an attraction of experiences, people, challenges and opportunities that are in vibrational resonance with your own dominant frequency.

The fundamental law of “like attracts like” is immutable and eternal.

This is part II of a two part blog. Please see my last blog entry on November 13 for part I.

On the other hand, if you went to “hell,” you would see that there is very little of the light of God there; and the inhabitants tenaciously still hold on to their warped earthbound ego-centered personalities. Actually all the negativity of the lower self is amplified in these realms. All the fearful, angry thoughts, self-centered traits, and controlling and manipulative ways are heightened. It is a very low energy, ugly place. Surprisingly those in these “hells” gain a certain pleasure in sustaining their infringing, restrictive world. Actually, they are so self-absorbed that they notice no one but themselves. It is a very lonely existence.

For instance, the miser remains in the corner of his room endlessly counting his money and zealously guarding it to make sure that no one can have any. Those from the higher realms visit regularly and project love and light to those in “hell.” And occasionally one of those in the lower realms notices and gradually follows the Light to the next higher realm.

So, “we reap what we sow.” Our life in the spirit word is not determined by Peter at the gates of judgment, but by our cumulative thoughts and actions while on earth. We are our own judge and jury. We determine our fate. We determine our experience. We determine our destiny.

Actually, we either live in “heaven” or in “hell” on earth, too, purely by the company we keep and the thoughts and emotions that are our most predominant. That is why it is so important to be conscious of the company we keep, be it in our thoughts or in our relationships.

We get to choose the realm we inhabit. What we see and experience is a vibrational match to what we think, believe and feel.

This is Part II of a two part blog. Please see my previous blog entry of November 13 for Part I.

November 13, 2006

The Spirit World: A Brief Description, Part I

This is Part I of a two part blog.

Actually this mirrors the many different “worlds” that human beings inhabit on earth. My wife and I have often commented when we have visited a “foreign” country or an area of the United States or our neighborhood, for that matter, that we have never been to before that it certainly seems like we have entered whole new planet.

So, let’s say you went to a more “heavenly” area.

This is Part I of a two part blog. Please see my next blog entry on November 15 for part II.

"Know Thy Self" by Learning How to "Listen" to Your Self, Part IV

This is part IV of a four part blog. Please see my last three blog entries on October 30, November 1 & 6 for parts I, II, & III.

It is in meditation where you can connect with the essence of your object of attention. It is in meditation where you can eavesdrop on your Self and on the God/Goddess within. It is in meditation where you can come to truly “Know ThySelf.” Why not learn how to experience this sweet ambrosia of the gods? Why not learn how to experience your “Godness?”

Lastly, this lovely sentence from “The Cloud of Unknowing” an anonymous medieval spiritual classic, sums it all up so beautifully:

By Love God may be gotten and holden, but by thought never.

So, learning how to still the mind through meditation helps one to learn how to truly listen to one Self and to another. It is in meditation that we access the essence and the heart of the matter, instead of getting all caught up in our heads and in the illusory surface appearance of things.

It is in meditation that we “see things clearly” and come to “know” ourselves and another. It is in this Silence where we can truly be present and Listen!

“Know Thy Self” by Learning How to “Listen” to Your Self, Part III

This is part III of a four part blog. Please see my last two blog entries on October 30 and November 1 for parts I & II.

That may be the most holy, the most sacred—may be. You cannot give it a name. It is perhaps the unnamable. And when there is that, then there is intelligence and compassion, and love. So life is not fragmented. It is a whole, unitary process, moving and living.”

It is in this state of being that Krisnamurti describes above where one can be present and listening. It is a profound state of unity with one’s object of attention; and it is a profound state of the heart.

“Know Thy Self” by Learning How to “Listen” to Your Self, Part II

This is part II of a four part blog. Please see my last blog entry on October 30 for part I.

There are seven kinds or aspects to “Listening:”
1) “Listening” to another.”
2) “Listening” to nature.
3) “Listening” to Spirit.
4) “Listening” to your physical body.
5) “Listening” to that part of us called the little self or the ego? That part that we often do not want to own or acknowledge, that we often wish to disinherit, despite the fact that it is has some very valuable things to say to us.
6) “Listening” to our Higher Selves.
7) “Listening” to the God/Goddess within.

When the mind is quiet, the heart can be open; and then it can “hear;” and then, as well, it can lead the way. The mind is meant to be the servant of the heart. The heart is meant to lead.

Don’t analyze anyone or anything. When you do, you are using your mind and creating separation by judging, analyzing and compartmentalizing. Instead feel first.

Don’t listen to words, instead feel their energy.

Don’t judge a person; get a “feel: for them first.

Don’t measure anything; just “feel” its energy.

Use your heart first and then let the mind help you integrate what the heart has felt. Feel first, think last! Then you will “know.”

Stop thinking and start feeling! Leave your mind behind and put your heart first!

No longer think your way through life; feel your way through life.

Listening is a communion—a joining or merging with. It is not analysis or judgment.

“Know Thy Self” by Learning How to “Listen” to Your Self, Part I

This is part I of a four part blog.

Remember! When you are quiet, you can eavesdrop on God and on your Self!

In order to come to “Know Thy Self,” one first must learn how to “Listen.” For it is only by really knowing how to “Listen” that one can get “a handle one’s ‘Self.’” And it is only through “Listening” that we can be true to our Selves and live an empowered, passionate, fulfilled, joyful life.

Usually all we hear or listen to is the noise and static that our fearful, angry, worried ego mind produces; this noise effectively blocks out our ability to hear what is really important, what is at the core of who we are.

It is only by learning how to embrace the Silence, that we can hear anything important. It is only by being quiet that you can “hear” your Self, “hear” another, “hear” nature, “hear” Spirit, and “hear” the God/Goddess within. One must quiet the fretful ego mind in order to hear one Self and come to “know” one Self.

Silence is the language of God. Everything else is bad translation.

Thomas Keating

Silence is ancient. Silence has been in the space you are this very moment for longer than anything else. It will remain after you leave and exist long after all other things have faded.

Slow Down! Get There Fast! Part II

This is Part II of a two-part blog. See my entry of October 9 for Part I.

It was because my wife and I chose to “Slow Down! Get there Fast!” that we gradually began to realize that living in New York City with all the noise and frenetic activity was not a match for who we were.

As well, working in two high profile and high pressure professions was also not who we were and what we wanted to do with our lives. Even though we first thought that these jobs were our ticket to heaven; they really were quite the opposite!

So, after living in NYC for only three years; it became obvious to us that we had to leave. So, we made plans and in two years we were out of the City, no longer in those jobs and living in a lot slower paced and less urbanized environment. We moved to a setting that was so much more a match to who we were and not who we thought we should be.

As well, by slowing down, we began to get more and more of our real priorities straight. We took care of ourselves and explored all kinds of enriching avenues of personal growth. We deepened our meditation and other spiritual practices. As well, we started the study and practice of Chi Gung, a Chinese form of meditation and energy mastery.

This all lead me to have the courage to make my passion, which is teaching and writing about the spiritual and healing arts, become my vocation and my work. So, within just two years we moved out of the Big Apple and I began my healing and teaching practice.

Starting anything new always has it challenges and opportunities. So, there were many times when I doubted myself and my abilities. But every time I did, I remembered that if I would just “slow down” I could tune into that “still, small voice within” and there I would find my center and find my Self again and all would be clear. I would remember in this place of Silence who I was and why I came forth.

I would see where I stood on my climb up my mountain of mastery, redouble my courage and confidence and continue on, clearly knowing that I was now “getting there fast!” That is, I was getting there in Divine Timing and in Divine Order and All was truly Good!

So, “Slow Down! Get There Fast!” It works wonders!

Slow Down! Get There Fast! Part I

My wife, Jaime, and I were living in New York City some twenty years ago. We were both working in very high pressure jobs in Manhattan. I was in book publishing and she was in insurance.

As well, we had a two hour of commute back and forth to work every day. So, by the time we got home we were exhausted from all the stimulation. There was always something to “do” and it always had to be done fast! So, life was a series of unending tasks that seemed to just exponentially explode on us. It wasn’t fun to say the least.

So, one day while we were taking stock of all we had to do, my wife, in total frustration, screamed out: “Slow Down! Get There Fast!”

It made us both stop in our tracks and first, laugh, but most importantly, it helped us to realize that we were like hamsters spinning around on a treadmill in a cage. We were going nowhere fast!

So, we asked, “Why are we doing this?” And we realized that we were unconscious. We were just doing more and more just for the sake of doing more and more in the hope that it would make us feel better about ourselves. But it certainly wasn’t helping!

So, at that point we recognized that we had to incorporate a conscious, consistent spiritual practice into our lives; that is, we needed to create a time of slowing down. We had been doing numerous spiritual practices for years on a haphazard basis, but it wasn’t enough obviously.

So, we then decided to sit and meditate and/or pray for at least thirty minutes an evening. It was so refreshing and relaxing. And most importantly, it helped us reach our goal of feeling good about ourselves very quickly; and we no longer had to run around mindlessly exhausting ourselves to reach our goal!

By slowing down, we got to our goal of feeling good about ourselves very, very fast. The other way of going about it, by running around all over the place, was actually moving us further and further away from our goal.

So, no matter what your goal is: “Slow Down! Get there Fast!” It works wonders!

In my next blog entry of October 11 I will continue this theme and explain how this process of slowing down helped me to find my purpose in life and live my passion.

Pray and “Think on These Things”

“…whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and then the God of peace shall be with you.”

(Philippians 4: 8-9)

Prayer
Be joyful always,
Pray continuously,
Give thanks in all circumstances.
1 Thessalonians 5, 16-18

In terms of increasing the quality of my life, I have found that prayer is such an incredibly valuable and precious tool.

When I refer to prayer I do not mean the repetition of rote phrases that no longer have any meaning. Prayer for me is seeing the good in all people, events and circumstances in my life and blessing and appreciating it all.

As you “think” or pray in this way, you are shining light on everything. And it is in this light and because of this light that the hidden beauty and brilliance of whatever you are focusing on is fully revealed.

As well, as you pray, you will continue to see your light grow stronger and stronger. And this light and this strength will be the attracting point and signal that you put out to others and to the universe. And as a result, you will attract even more light and strength to yourself. And in time all the darkness within you will be transformed into the light it always was. In this way you become the beacon on the hill, the lighthouse in the storm.

As you practice this you will be awed by all the good you will find within and without!

Quality is not inherent in an object or a person; it is created one prayer at a time; one kind word at a time; one noble action at a time; one positive thought at a time.

The great Masters still shine so brightly because they knew to constantly strengthen and brighten this flame within themselves with the fuel of prayer, love, service and good thoughts! And because of this, they no longer cast shadows any more! For they had become the Light!

Prayer is not an asking for, it is a becoming.

Think on these things!

October 2, 2006

What is Quality?

Quality is not something inherent in an object, person or experience;
Quality is something we imbue into an object, person or experience.

We create quality. We create a quality life.

We give life its meaning, substance and value by the way we choose to interpret events. All of life is good and working towards the Highest Good. Everything we experience is from the Good and for the Good though we may not know how to “see” it that way sometimes.

Quality can not be measured by the quantity of material things we accumulate, the number or status of the people we know or the types of experiences we have; it can only be determined by the value we give to the experience.

So, to have a quality experience; go out there and give value to all you see and experience; especially give value to yourself. You determine the quality of your experiences by the way you choose to value them. You determine the quality or value of yourself by the way you choose to value yourself.

So, take the time to quiet your mind and go within and listen to that “still, small voice within.” And ask it to help you to learn how to “see” yourself and everything and everyone in your life with the eyes and heart of your Soul and then you will see all things “anew.”

You will “see” how precious and valuable you are and how precious and valuable every person, place and experience is in your life. They all are steps up your mountain of mastery. Everything and everyone is leading you to your Highest Good.

By listening to that “still, small voice within,” you will learn how to live your life in Grace and Trust. You will see the bigger picture and know who you truly are from the depths of your being and how blessed life really is.

So, slow down, quiet your mind and listen so that you can ease into a life of real quality and value!

The Art or HeArt of “Listening” Part VI

This is Part VI of a six part series. See my five previous blog entries on September 11, 13, 18, 20, and 25 for Parts I, II, III, IV & V.

Too often when we interact with others, we are not listening, we are not silent. So, we get caught up in an ego draining interaction, or we get caught up in our own fears and we miss the opportunity to commune on a heart to heart level. We walk away feeling drained instead of being uplifted.

What also happens is that some people often initiate an interaction because they need energy. They are in the interaction solely for the purpose of drawing in energy from someone. I call these kinds of people “parasites.” Not a very nice way to describe someone, yet we all do it at times. And we all have certainly experienced feeling totally drained after a conversation.

If you are not at first quiet and listening silently, you will not know what is going on energetically in an interaction. You will not know that you are about to be drained in a major way. But if you are silent and really listening, you will realize whether an interaction is for your Highest Good or not. You will know whether the interaction is an enmeshed and entangled one and whether a stagnated, mutated energy is flowing forth from that individual or not. This is not meant to be a judgment of that individual, but it is just an objective appraisal of the energies.

At this point you can make a decision about whether you want to continue to engage in this interaction or not. If you are really listening, then you can really hear where the interaction is going energetically. You then can make a choice to be with that person’s energy or choose not to be with their energy. It is within the silence that you can know what they are really saying, what their real fear is, and what their real issue is or what their real passion is. Often what someone is saying out loud has nothing to do with what is really going on within them.

If what they are saying is energetically off and you are conscious of it, then you can offer them a compliment or a comment that comes from your heart that makes them stop and take notice. Then, if you have said the right thing, all of a sudden, it is as if the spirit that possessed them is gone and now you find yourself in an uplifting interchange.

What is most important here is that you did not take that energy into yourself and get engaged in a whole sequence of negativity and then wonder why afterwards you felt so awful? But if you are not really “listening” from within, you are not going to realize whose presence you are in or what kind of energies you are in and you will wonder how this all happened to you.

So, then, how does one listen? You listen by being silent!

The Art or HeArt of “Listening” Part V

This is Part V of a six part series. See my four previous blog entries on September 11, 13, 18, and 20 for Parts I, II, III, & IV.

I soon began to realize that it was so much more enjoyable being with those who were present and listening. Those who were constantly talking about how great they were or how brilliant their intellectual theories were, got rather boring; and, interestingly, those same people never asked me a question about myself. I did not exist on some level other than as a sounding board.

But it was these “laughing Buddha” types who would not only ask me about me, but they would “listen.” I just felt embraced by them. I felt “one” with them.

Even though it was 1985 when I left this job, still to this day, there are two dozen or so of these “laughing Buddhas” I still communicate with. [By the way, many of these people were Westerners!]

I really learned through all this that it was so important for me to be silent in order to really be listening. It did not matter what the issue was or whether I was in a planning meeting discussing practical things, having dinner, or just hanging out. In order to hear, I had to be still and listen quietly. It was only by doing this that I was able to hear and respond from a place of connection.

It was not that I did not speak up at times, I did; but I learned not to talk a lot in these settings. I chose to listen. I learned to just be present and just witness what was going on. I learned to go beyond words and appearances and sense the “essence” of the interchange.

I listened in the silence and to the silence, not only to my own silence, but also to the silence between their words. And it was there that I got to “know” them. It was there where I got to know who they really were and what they were really saying.

It was from this place where I could make a comment that could move the discussion into an area that was more productive; or I could sense that the interaction was going nowhere and I knew that it was time for me to excuse myself. I was not judging them, but I could sense when their energies did not match mine. I learned not to “lean into” conversations or situations where I did not belong and which did not serve my Highest Good or the Highest Good of all concerned.

The Art or HeArt of “Listening” Part IV

This is Part IV of a six part series. See my three previous blog entries on September 11, 13 and 18 for Parts I, II & III.

Here I was thirty years old and the “head honcho” of the whole enterprise while the participants were at least in their early 40’s and went all the way up to their 80’s. Also, most of them were rather eminent in their communities or internationally. So, my position as their junior was clearly to serve them all. I had to make sure that the organizational aspects of the event went smoothly and that they were all well cared for. In addition, I had to make sure that the topics that we chose had thematic coherence and that it all came together smoothly. I learned an enormous amount doing this.

One of the most important things I learned was that I had to be “listening” all the time. I had to be a “good listener.” Whether I was running a large meeting or just a small planning meeting; I had to be listening. I had to be listening, too, to mundane complaints such as someone’s room was too small or perhaps the glass of water was not placed correctly on the podium, I had to always be listening.

So, given my age and the position I was in; I had to listen. All I did was “listen.” As well, when I wasn’t at an actual conference or formal meeting, I was meeting with people at my office or talking on the phone all the time. When I was at an event, we would have breakfast, lunch, and dinner meetings. When we were on the beach on Maui; I was in meetings. At six in the morning, I was in meetings. At 11 at night, I was in meetings: Listen, Listen, and Listening.

As time went on I began to see that there were three kinds of people that I was listening to. First, there were the “holier than thou eminences,” as I called them. When they talked about the paper they wrote, or their tradition, or themselves, it was all ego; it was all “look at how great I am”.

The second group of people was incredibly brilliant intellectually and had wonderful things to say, but they were only interesting up to a point. After awhile what they were talking about would give me a bad headache or a severe case of mental diarrhea. They were so caught up in their heads.

Lastly there were the Buddhist monks and other wonderful souls like them who came to these events simply to enjoy themselves and to enjoy the company of others. They just laughed and smiled and greeted you warmly all the time. They were there just to enjoy, to listen, to learn, to just be present.

The Art or HeArt of “Listening” Part III

This is Part III of a six part series. See my two previous blog entries on September 11 and 13 for Parts I & II.

Listening to another is a skill that so few have.

So, what does it mean to “listen” to another? I have found that most us most of time, myself included, are in a place of self-absorption. Therefore, we are not listening. We are so caught up in projecting a certain impression about ourselves or getting our point across or being heard or being “right” that we pay almost no attention to the person right there in front of us.

Listening can not occur when the mind is preoccupied. “Listening” can only occur in the silence and receptivity of the heart. It can only occur when the little self, the ego, the self-absorbed part of us is silent.

What often happens, too, is that we are so full of “hubris” or false pride that we just want to hear ourselves talk and we are not interested in what another has to say. We are not there to listen, we are only there to make another see or hear us. This happens because we have a lack of real Self-confidence, that is, we lack confidence in our Higher Self and lack an understanding of what our Higher Self is and who we really are; and are, instead, trying to build up our little self’s self-confidence, that is, our ego’s delusion of confidence or personal superiority.

By doing this we just keep putting up one barrier of separation after the other. Eventually, it becomes very difficult to bring these walls of separation down in our relationships.

For myself, I really got to understand this when I was about thirty years old. At that time I became the Executive Director of an organization that planned ecumenical, inter-faith conferences all around the world. The people that attended the conferences were academics in religion and philosophy as well as religious leaders from all over the world. Many very fascinating people attended from all walks of life.

Some of the conferences were as large as 1,000 and some of the events were small groups of twelve to twenty attendees. I did this for about seven years and literally went around the world numerous times doing it.

The Art or HeArt of “Listening” Part II

This is Part II of a six part series. See my previous blog entry on September 11 for Part I.

There is the event in the Judeo-Christian tradition called “The Fall.” From my point of view that event describes the time when we as a race chose to stop “listening” with our hearts and, instead, began to judge with our minds. We ate of the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, that is, we entered the world of judgment, analysis and separation.

We no longer experienced life from within, but, instead, we experienced it as “other” than us or outside us. We started judging and analyzing instead of feeling and that created the sense of separation that we feel from each other, nature, Spirit, our Higher Selves and from God/Goddess. This is what cast us out of the Garden of Eden.

Vine Deloria, PhD, a Native American scholar so aptly wrote in this regard:

“For primitive people the presence of energy and power is the starting point of their analysis and understanding of the natural world...primitive people felt power, but did not measure it. Today we are able to measure power, but do not feel it.”

Rene Dubos, celebrated microbiologist and author wrote:

“Sometimes the more measurable, drives out the most important.”

In another vein, Elizabeth Barrett Browning wrote:

“Earth is crammed with Heaven, if we but listen.”

Heaven is everywhere and in everyone. Each one of us and everything that we could possibly interact with is simply an entryway, a portal to our Higher Selves and to the God/Goddess within if we could “listen” to it, if we could “see” it. Everyone is an opening to your Higher Self, even your enemies, even your tormentors. If we could learn again to “listen,” we all could reenter that Garden.

The Art or HeArt of “Listening” Part I

This is Part I of a six part series of blog posts.

Listening is the most important skill that one can develop; but it is not a cognitive function as most believe. It is a function of the heart.

Listening is not an active, assertive state. It is not a state that judges, understands, or analyzes. It is simply a state of “being,” a state of silence, a state of openness, receptivity, and allowing. It is quiet and still and does not pay attention to words or appearances; instead it senses the “essence” of things. It looks into the Soul of people, experiences and all things. It is a state of simply being present and just “knowing.”

It is a surrender, a merging with, a communion; it is just being present with no agenda.

“Listening” to an“other”

One of the gifts of learning to listen is to realize that there is no “other.” There is only One; and the only way to “listen” is to merge with or become a part of that which you are listening to. There is no other way to “listen.”

Otherwise, all you are doing is judging and analyzing with your mind, and, by doing so, you separate yourself out from what you are listening to and experience it as “other” when it is not “other.” This is what creates all the conflict within our selves and with “others” and also all the conflict in the world. We see things as “other.” But really, how can anything or anyone be “other”?

Who do You Think You are? A Meditation

In the Katha Upanishad, the sages of ancient India describe
the source of the limitless potential within us in the following manner:

There shines not the sun, neither the moon nor star,
nor flash of lightening, nor fire lit on earth as bright.
The Self is the light reflected by all.
He shining, everything shines after him.

And as the Sufi mystics write:

He whom the galaxies can not contain, he is in my little heart.

It is so hard for the ego mind to wrap itself around who you really ARE. The ego mind is only capable of remembering the conditioning which it has been fed since birth. It knows nothing about the Divine plan that you formulated before it came into being. It has no clue regarding your infinite potential; and it certainly has no idea about the incredible mysteries and majesty that lie within you.

So, why do we keep relying on the ego mind to help us get to know ourselves or to understand what our purpose is? The ego mind is meant at best to be a servant of our soul. It is not meant to be our master.

So, let us learn how to access this clear, pure essence by learning to quiet our ego mind and listen to our heart/soul. Then we will discover who we ARE.

Meditation is the key to this way of perceiving.

Whatever arises is not Self.
It is not I;
it does not belong to anybody;
it is just conditioning.
Jack Kornfield

The Mind is a Lot Less Important than We Think It is: a Meditation

Look! This little finger covers the eye and prevents the whole world from being seen.
In this same way this small mind covers the whole universe
and prevents Reality from being seen.
Ramana Maharshi

The mind is a lot less important than we think it is. In our Western rationalistic society, we have given pre-eminence to the cognitive processes. Of course, the mind has its place and value in the scheme of things. But the mind is not meant to be the primary way we experience reality. As Carl Jung said, “All of reality is not thinking.”

So, to really get to know someone or something, learn to quiet your mind and feel; and then identify with and become one with that which you are focused on.

In other words, “lose your mind and come to your senses.”

Meditation is the doorway to this way of perceiving.

Spiritual Guides, Mentors, Masters, Angels, and Ancestors, Part IV

This is Part IV of a four part series. Please go back to my last three blog entries for Parts I, II and III.

Past Lives:

1. While in a meditative state create the intention that you want to see a past life for yourself or for the person you are reading for. Then, as in number one in Part III of my previous blog entry, create a silhouette of a person and then begin to see it fill in. Trust the impressions you get. See what gender, size, shape, clothing, feeling, historical time period, etc. appear.

2. Ask why it has appeared now and what it wants to communicate. Trust the impressions you get.

3. Ask what is the primary message or quality that it wishes to reflect to the person you are reading for or to you. Sense/merge with its presence and sense what you feel it wants to communicate. Trust the impressions you get.

4. Ask for a name, too. See number 4 in Part III of my previous blog for instructions on how to receive a name.

5. Or, lastly, imagine yourself or the person you are reading for as an historical figure and see who shows up. Then determine your relationship or their relationship to that historical figure and to the era they represent. In other words, if Socrates shows up, it is more than likely that his image appears as a marker for an era and is not likely to mean that you or the individual you are reading for was Socrates. Then by asking simple questions and creating a silhouette as above you can unearth information about this particular past life. Trust the impressions you get.

This is the last of four parts on this topic. Please go back to my last three blog entries for Parts I, II and III.

Feel free to email me with any questions you may have about this topic.

Spiritual Guides, Mentors, Masters, Angels, and Ancestors, Part III

This is Part III of a four part series. Please go back to my last two blog entries for Parts I and II.

How can I sense them?

1. While in a meditative state create a silhouette of a person and then begin to see it fill in. See what gender, size, shape, clothing, feeling, etc. appear. Ask if it is a guide, mentor, master, angel, ancestor, etc. Usually it will be obvious. Trust the impressions you get.

2. Ask why it is here now and what it wants to communicate. Trust the impressions you get.

3. Ask what is the primary message/feeling that it wishes to communicate either to you or to the person you are reading for. Sense/merge with its presence and “listen” to what it is communicating or saying.

4. Ask for a name. The name may be spelled out before you or you might hear it clairvoyantly, but often it can be expressed symbolically, e.g., a white eagle feather is White Eagle. Or it can be expressed metaphorically, e.g. a rock means Peter, a crown means Stephen, etc. Or you can create your own shorthand for common names using symbols, metaphors and letters of the alphabet. Or you can ask for the letter of the first name and then be lead to more letters. Trust your impressions and flow with them and you will be amazed at what can happen.

5. If it is an ancestor, notice whether it is on the right (father’s side) or left (mother’s side). Ask it to reveal to you gender and relationship (i.e. grandparent or aunt/uncle, etc.) and perhaps a word or an image that might have evidential meaning for the person you are reading for. For example, a ring or watch or favorite color or article of clothing that would have special meaning. Trust your impressions.

6. Sense/merge with this energy and let it express a message through your heart. Trust your impressions and flow with them. [Sometimes the person that appears may be physically alive. You can tell by looking at their navel and noticing whether there is a silver cord present or not. If the cord is not present, they are no longer physical.]

7. Lastly, another technique is to focus on the image of a heart and see who comes out of it. Trust the impressions you get.

Spiritual Guides, Mentors, Masters, Angels, and Ancestors, Part II

This is Part II of a four part series. Please go back to my last blog entry for Part I.

Who are my Guides?

1. They are often individuals who have had a similar Soul’s purpose and/or lessons to learn as you presently do, but who have already “mastered” them.

2. Their personalities were (are) likely to be the same or similar to yours.

3. As well, some are less evolved than you and they are there to impede your way in order to help you to overcome. They have similar issues as you do. They gain in this process, as well.

How do they work with me?

1. They never impose or force decisions or truths upon you. They honor and recognize that you must make your own choices.

2. They support you. They are not judgmental. They are loving, kind, and healing. They never come with fear.

3. They need your permission to help. You must “ask” for their support. “Seek and ye shall find. Knock and the door shall be opened.”

4. They help you to get in touch with the Divine within you, with your main power source. They help recharge your batteries. They help you to access higher truths, spiritual experiences, and healing.

Parts III and IV to follow.

Spiritual Guides, Mentors, Masters, Angels, and Ancestors, Part I

This is Part I of a four part series.

Our Guides are with us before our physical birth, at our birth, all the way through our physical lifetime, and during and after our crossing over. In other words, they are always with us. They are a part of our Soul group. One or two are usually most prominent, though we have many in our lifetime.

They can be seen and experienced consciously, if we quiet our minds and open our hearts. Otherwise most of the communication goes on when we are asleep on the astral plane.

Their purpose is to Serve, Protect, Inspire, Guide, and Teach us.

We have a number of Guides with us on a constant basis (they are always on call, so to speak), for example:

1. Master Guides: offer inspiration, higher truths, and insight. They guide us to greater peace, love, and mastery over our thoughts and feelings. They have chosen and agreed to love us unconditionally and to work with us for eternity, no matter what.

2. Protectors: help with physical protection, healing, and health.

3. Intuitive Guides: help with our spiritual and psychic development. They are “gatekeepers,” in other words; they protect the gates between the physical and spiritual worlds for us.

4. Occupation/Work: come according to the work we do: parent, teacher, counselor, politician, artist, musician, engineer, accountant, plumber, scientist, religious leader, etc.

5. Special Guides: touch in from time to time for particular issues or problems you have, i.e., finances, relationships, work, etc.; or for specific spiritual development issues, Jesus, Mary, Yogananda, St. Germain, etc.; or for specific creative projects, inventions, etc.

Throughout your life, your guides come and go, as your needs change. If you take on a new, important, and difficult task, you may have a special guide for the duration of that task. Other guides may remain with you for the better or total part of your life. You meet or attract many along the way in your life.

The "Embrace," Part II

This week I am sharing with those of you who read my blog why I do the work that I do. Please go back to my post on July 31 for Part I.

Within each one of us lies a limitless well of living waters brimming with wisdom, love, inspiration, creativity and strength. We just need to find the key that opens us to these treasures.

This key lies in learning how to quiet the mind and open the heart (i.e. meditate) in order that we might learn how to experience and process life through the heart-mind and no longer through the myopic vision of the ego mind.

Herein one will find a profound place of freedom and joy from which one can truly “live life.” Herein one becomes the author/authority of his/her life and learns what it means to truly be a Master of her/his thoughts, emotions and life experiences.

Herein one truly learns to be “true to thy Self.” As well, one comes to understand that if you have not yet learned to “know thy Self” that life will feel and be incomplete.

So, I wish that my work can be a road map to that divine, blessed place of peace and the “Embrace” that lies within each and every person, a place that all those who truly aspire to Mastery have found, a place where there is a peace and a love that “passeth all understanding.”

It is here that the initiates of the Ancient Mysteries Schools endeavored to arrive. In my work, I intend for the “mysteries” of this process to be removed and so, too, the “ancient” trappings! We are living in a time when the ancient keys to the Kingdom are, in fact, fully accessible to every modern man and woman who desires to access them. The Divine Feminine has returned!

The subject tonight is Love
and for tomorrow night as well.
As a matter of fact,
I know no better topic
for us to discuss
until we all die!

I would like to take the opportunity now to share with those of you who read my blog, why I do the work that I do.

I would like to introduce you to what I refer to as the “Embrace” and how it is at the core of all that I do and be.

It is through the “Embrace” that “all things are made anew.” As well, it is through the “Embrace” that we all are made whole and healed. And it is through the “Embrace” that we can listen and learn from each other.

What follows is a brief story that may put this is a broader context for you:

Some eighteen years ago I was participating in a series Intuitive Development classes. During the classes we would meditate and quiet our minds and go into a very profound place of peace where we would access a deep, deep connection with extraordinarily loving energies.

I had been participating in these classes for about a year and had really enjoyed the warmth and camaraderie that had formed among all the class members. As well, I had very much enjoyed the peace that the experience of the classes brought. So, too, the class facilitator, Philip Burley, was a truly excellent channel and the messages that came through him were very profound and healing.

Then one night as I was “tuning in,” an overpowering sense of peace and pure Love just cascaded all over and through me. I had never felt this before and it just kept growing and growing and getting deeper and deeper, wider and wider, fuller and fuller. Truly for the first time in my life I knew what it meant to have “my cup runneth over.”

It was there and then that I “knew” that I had found “it.” I had found both my connection with Source/God and had also found my vocation or calling in life. I “knew” that my life had been leading me to this moment so that that I could really “get” what was important and then help others experience that same “Embrace.”

So, on that day it became clear to me that my raison d’etre (reason for being) was/is to continue to deepen that connection with the “Embrace” for myself, and, in whatever way possible to help others to find “It” for themselves, as well.

So, all my work up to now is dedicated to this purpose.

How to Use Your Intuition in Real Life, Part II

This is a continuation of a blog I posted on June 22. It is the last in series of entries I will post on Intuition for now.

Even neuroscience has declared that intuition physically exists in our brain,
in the emotional part of the forebrain. So, follow the feeling.
James Wanless
No matter how deep a study you make,
what you really have to rely on is your own intuition,
and when it comes down to it,
you really don't know what's going to happen until you do it.
Konosuke Matsushita, founder Matsushita Electric Co.

Five Ways to Help Workout Your Intuitive Muscles:
1. Create the intention to use your Intuition and the numerous techniques suggested in previous posts by regularly reminding yourself, “I want to use my Intuition.”
2. Constantly pay attention to and be on the lookout for feelings or impressions. It is a very spontaneous, subtle process
3. Trust the feelings and impressions you get. Don’t ignore them.
4. Have the courage to act on your impressions. Be intu-active!
5. Monitor the process. Keep an “Intuitive Hunch Journal” so you can keep tabs on how often you are right.
6. Begin using your Intuition with smaller issues and then gradually move on to the bigger ones.

Intuition helps one be more decisive, swift, clear and accurate in decision-making. Success is an inside job. Develop your intuitive muscles and be intuitively fit. Increase your Intuitive Intelligence IQ. You’ll be amazed at how good you get at it and at how easy it is!

How to Use Your Intuition in Real Life

During the last month or so I have been blogging about Intuition. I will continue on this topic this week and will be offering you further specific techniques on how to develop your Intuition. You might also want to go back and review what I have written previously. In effect, I have been offering a mini-course on “How to Develop Your Intuition.” Next week I will blog on a different topic.

When I worked on the polio vaccine, I had a theory.
I guided each [experiment] by imagining myself in the phenomenon in which I was interested.
The intuitive realm . . . the realm of the imagination guides my thinking.
Intuition will tell the thinking mind where to look next.
Jonas Salk

Intuition is my most valued business tool.
Lewis Platt, CEO of Hewlett Packard

Learning to use your Intuition is like learning a new language. As you get practiced and fully conversant in the new language you are learning, you no longer need to think about what you are going to say, it just comes flowing out of you.

So, too, Intuition can become second nature for you. Instead of thinking in a left-brain, analytical mode all the time, you learn to “think” in a right brain way, too. Instead of experiencing paralysis through too much analysis, you can experience great success and fulfillment through inspired creativity.

Intuition uses a “language” that is made up of pictures and feelings. Over time you can create a very easy to use “language” that you make up yourself. For example, if you want to get a “read” on someone or some situation, just visualize them as a car, a book, an animal, etc and “see” what impressions come to you.

See what kind of car, book, animal, etc comes to you and then trust that the “feeling” or image that you get is an accurate “read” of the person or situation. In time you will learn to trust your impressions and very easily, accurately and quickly get a “read” on a person or situation with this simple, yet very powerful tool.

Please see my next blog post for further suggestions on how to access your Intuition.

Further Exercises on How to Use Your Intuition to Gather Information, Part II

This is a continuation of a post I made last Monday 06/12/06:

As well, as you are walking down the street and something or someone catches your attention, Notice! Pay attention! There are no coincidences. The Universe is talking to you all the time. It is reflecting back to you
