It wasn't until I realized that "I was looking for love in all the wrong places" that I began to look within. It finally dawned on me that by not looking within I was not allowing myself to come to know who I truly was (am) at the core. I did not know how to go within and be present with the bedrock of who I really was and to stand on that foundation and not stand on the shifting sands of my temporary ego-based personality.
By going within I finally began to identify with that part of me that is eternal and true, i.e. my Soul or my Higher Self. My Soul knows my inherent goodness and value. All I ever need to do is to touch in with its understanding of who I am and then I am whole.
In other words, I finally began to know what it meant to have Self confidence (that is confidence in my Higher Self or Soul) and not be concerned about developing confidence in my little self, that part of me that only wants to be validated by another and wants to feel control over its circumstances.
As Rainier Maria Rilke wrote, "How deep is the reservoir from which your life flows?"
We are so much more than our current personality. As we learn "to be present" with our Higher Selves/Soul, we will come to know who we really are and then we will totally and completely love and embrace ourselves. This will then bring a "peace that passeth all understanding" to us.
Then we will know how majestic and astounding we really are. We will realize how great a blessing it is to be in our own "Presence."
This is Part II of a two part blog entry.
What does it mean to love oneself or another person? As I have journeyed through my life, I have come to the following understanding of what it means to truly love:
Love is simply "being present for your self or for another."
But what does it mean "to be present for yourself," to just be there for yourself?
As far as I am concerned, you are your most "significant other." So, in order to love yourself, you must be fully present for yourself. You must be "listening" to your self. You must be honoring yourself. You must be accepting and appreciating yourself unconditionally. This is love: "Being totally present for your self" with no judgments, no analysis, no preconceived beliefs, concepts or ideas of what you "should" be or do.
Giving this kind of love and presence to yourself, whether someone else is "present" for you or not, is the key to Self-mastery and happiness; it is actually "the key" to life. "Being present," in this way, I believe, is the answer to the perennial question of "How do I love myself or another person?"
As for myself, I know that in the past I did not think that it was possible to love myself. I did not appreciate or understand my value. All I ever did was look at what was "wrong" with me and judge and reject myself. So, all I was doing was playing an old script of "I am not good enough" and "I am not worthy." I had adopted a false belief system about myself.
As well, I was always looking for validation outside myself. I was looking for others to affirm me. I was "looking for love in all the wrong places," so to speak.
I had no idea how majestic and miraculous a being I really was. I did not know how to be in my own "Presence."
This is Part I of a two part blog entry.
This week I am sharing with those of you who read my blog, why I do the work that I do. Please go back to my post on December 15 for Part I.
Within each one of us lies a limitless well of living waters brimming with wisdom, love, inspiration, creativity and strength. We just need to find the key that opens us to these treasures.
This key lies in learning how to quiet the mind and open the heart (i.e. meditate) in order that we might learn how to experience and process life through the heart-mind and no longer through the myopic vision of the ego mind.
Herein one will find a profound place of freedom and joy from which one can truly "live life." Herein one becomes the author/authority of his/her life and learns what it means to truly be a Master of her/his thoughts, emotions and life experiences.
Herein one truly learns to be "true to thy Self." As well, one comes to understand that if you have not yet learned to "know thy Self" that life will feel and be incomplete.
So, I wish that my work can be a road map to that divine, blessed place of peace and the "Embrace" that lies within each and every person, a place that all those who truly aspire to Mastery have found, a place where there is a peace and a love that "passeth all understanding."
It is here that the initiates of the Ancient Mysteries Schools endeavored to arrive. In my work, I intend for the "mysteries" of this process to be removed and so, too, the "ancient" trappings! We are living in a time when the ancient keys to the Kingdom are, in fact, fully accessible to every modern man and woman who desires to access them. The Divine Feminine has returned!

I would like to take the opportunity now to share with those of you who read my blog, why I do the work that I do.
I would like to introduce you to what I refer to as the "Embrace" and how it is at the core of all that I do and be.
It is through the "Embrace" that "all things are made anew." As well, it is through the "Embrace" that we all are made whole and healed. And it is through the "Embrace" that we can listen and learn from each other.
What follows is a brief story that may put this is a broader context for you:
Some twenty years ago I was participating in a series Intuitive Development classes. During the classes we would meditate and quiet our minds and go into a very profound place of peace where we would access a deep, deep connection with extraordinarily loving energies.
I had been participating in these classes for about a year and had really enjoyed the warmth and camaraderie that had formed among all the class members. As well, I had very much enjoyed the peace that the experience of the classes brought. So, too, the class facilitator, Philip Burley, was a truly excellent channel and the messages that came through him were very profound and healing.
Then one night as I was "tuning in," an overpowering sense of peace and pure Love just cascaded all over and through me. I had never felt this before and it just kept growing and growing and getting deeper and deeper, wider and wider, fuller and fuller. Truly for the first time in my life I knew what it meant to have "my cup runneth over."
It was there and then that I "knew" that I had found "it." I had found both my connection with Source/God and had also found my vocation or calling in life. I "knew" that my life had been leading me to this moment so that that I could really "get" what was important and then help others experience that same "Embrace."
So, on that day it became clear to me that my raison d'etre (reason for being) was/is to continue to deepen that connection with the "Embrace" for myself, and, in whatever way possible to help others to find "It" for themselves, as well.
So, all my work up to now is dedicated to this purpose.
See my blog post on 12/22 for part II.
A boy and his father were walking along a road when they came across a large stone. The boy said to his father, "Do you think if I use all my strength, I can move this rock?"
His father answered, "If you use all your strength, I am sure you can do it."
The boy began to push the rock. Exerting himself as much as he could, he pushed and pushed. The rock did not move.
Discouraged, he said to his father, "You were wrong. I can't do it."
His father placed his arm around the boy's shoulder and said, "No son. You didn't use all your strength - you didn't ask me to help."
From Teaching Your Children About God
Do you believe that the Universe is a friendly, nurturing place or not?
Or is it a neutral or perhaps threatening place?
Do you believe that there are energies and beings that are just waiting to help you, if you just ask for their help? Or do you believe that you are all alone and basically just a spiritual orphan?
Do you believe that if you ask for support and believe and expect that it will come to you, that it will come to you?
These are the questions and beliefs that this parable is asking you to explore.
So, just take some time to explore and meditate on these questions. By doing so, you will come to better know yourself and then you will be better able to draw upon the sources of strength that are available to you.
Take the time every day to touch into this Reality and you will find the Peace that is at the core of your Being.
The above is a brief dialogue from Theophane the Monk's, Tales of a Magic Monastery. Please meditate and reflect on it.
Conversation
God and I in space alone
and nobody else in view.
"And where are the people, O Lord," I said,
"the earth below and the sky o'er head
and the dead whom once I knew?"
"That was a dream," God smiled and said,
"A dream that seemed to be true.
There were no people, living or dead,
there was no earth, and no sky o'er head;
there was only Myself -- in you."
"Why do I feel no fear," I asked,
"meeting You here this way?
For I have sinned I know full well--
and is there heaven, and is there hell,
and is this the Judgment Day?"
"Nay, those were but dreams,"
the Great God said,
"Dreams that have ceased to be.
There are no such things as fear or sin;
there is no you -- you never have been--
there is nothing at all
but Me."
Ella Wheeler Wilcox
You are an invisible fullness, a field of latent possibilities from which all things emerge.
Behind the universe moves this unnamable mystery. It is a pregnant state of love, energy, and intelligence, ready to continually give birth to new forms and absorb old and wasted ones in order to give them rebirth in new form again.
This invisible, unnamable mystery and fullness is infinite possibility. The processes of change, transformation and rebirth are the very fabric of the universe and they occur in this field of potential and latent possibilities.
Contemplate the infinite potential and possibilities that you are. The well of living waters you have to draw upon is unlimited. You can not and are not defined or limited by any role, experience, or lifetime you have had or are having. Allow yourself to experience/feel the full promise of who You ARE. Embrace the Mystery and Majesty of Your Self! Enter the Silence! Meditate! Embrace the Unknown! Embrace Your Self!
This is Part X of a ten part blog.
9) Will a different reality.
What you expect, you receive. Whatever you are looking for or looking at is what you see. Use the power of your mind to see the best in all and in yourself and you will experience the best. Keep your thoughts clear, pure, intentional and purposeful by using your will and you will create a new reality. Be clear and you will have clarity!
You are not a victim. Look at your thoughts and the predominant emotions that you have and if any of them are of a low quality, change them. You and only you have the strength and power to change them and you can.
You are a powerful creator! You created what you don't want; what makes you think you can not create what you do want.
You create your reality.
You create your experiences.
You give them meaning.
You get to choose!
You are a Master of your Life!
I hope that these reflections are helpful to you.
We really do create our reality and give meaning to our lives and experiences by the way we choose to interpret them and the perspective we choose to bring to bear upon them. Our happiness does not arise from anything we do, but by virtue of what we believe and think.
Do you live by choosing to experience your life through the eyes and heart of your Soul or do you choose to live by hiding in the shadows of your ego?
Reflect on these things!
This is Part X of a ten part blog.
This is Part IX of a ten part blog.
8) Go within and bring in the God presence over and over again and you will be free of all this suffering. Then you will have attained "perfection over the illusion."
Take the time to regularly sit in meditation and there in that Silence, where the ego mind is still and your heart is open, you will be filled with the Presence of God/Goddess and there you will know who you are and without a doubt you will know deep within you that you have eternal everlasting value. As well, you will also know that that value is inherent in you and in every living creature.
There is nothing you need to do or become or possess in this lifetime in order to realize your value. You are already THAT! You are God/Goddess in finite form who has taken on a temporary personality in this lifetime in order to manifest and embody Love. Period!
That's why you are here. It's not complicated. By realizing this, you will have attained "perfection over the illusion" and you will know your eternal value.
It's not about what we "do" with our lives that matters; it all about who we "become." So, open your heart and quiet your mind regularly and consistently and you will then come to truly "know ThySelf."
But to attain this awareness you must consistently take the time to go within over and over again so that you can touch in with "Reality," that is, God/Goddess. Otherwise the world of illusion will drag and beat you down and you will forget who you really ARE.
This is Part IX of a ten part blog.
This is Part VIII of a ten part blog.
6) I am a Divine Spirit. I have everything that is needed.
You truly are a Divine Spirit having a human experience. You are here to learn "love," give "love," receive "love," and become "love." Within you, you have all the Wisdom and love to create the best possible life for yourself.
You were made in His/Her Image. You are a co-creator with God/Goddess of your own reality. God/Goddess is infinite potential and all He/She asks of you to believe in your eternal, infinite Self and by doing so you can embody and manifest all the potential that is within you. Everything is possible, if you believe that to be so.
You are a chip off the old holographic block called God/Goddess. Why not begin to claim your birthright and become who You are!
7) Know without any uncertainty that your fears and insecurities are not your true self; that your true self is totally integrated, totally capable of handling every thing over time in the right way and with enough patience it can accomplish what it came to accomplish.
When you feel inadequate, fearful, disconnected or like a victim, you are identifying with your "little self." That part of you that has forgotten who it really is and what you are really capable of. Everything is possible for you! You can do it! And you can truly know what it is that you came to fulfill and accomplish in this lifetime.
This is Part VIII of a ten part blog.
This is Part VII of a ten part blog.
4) There is no insufficiency in you. You will get past it. This will work for you!
When you feel down and out and disempowered, you're basically feeling that you are deep down at your core inadequate or unworthy and that there isn't anything you can do to bring yourself out of it. The fact of the matter is that you are never given a challenge that you can't overcome. It's only your thinking about your thinking that makes you feel that way.
You are not a victim. You are a Master. "I am not a victim; I AM a Master." Keep repeating this phrase to yourself because it is true! This is what be a Master is really all about!
5) "When I awaken tomorrow, no matter what comes my way, I am more than adequate to handle it! I will find all of the solutions through my objectivity and my own inner spiritual power."
You are a very powerful spiritual being who has come forth to embody the gifts and strengths that are who you really are. Claim your Divinity and your strength. Know without out a doubt that you are a Master of your Life and a powerful, creative soul. By stepping back from the fears and insecurities of your ego mind and witnessing them objectively rather than getting all caught up in their drama, you can, in that objective place of Silence and meditation, find solutions to all your "problems" and reclaim your power.
This is Part VII of a ten part blog.
This is Part VI of a ten part blog.
3) Don't fall out of agreement with what is happening because when you do, you create a lot of emotional turmoil and resistance.
What you resist persists!
Embracing who you are and where you are in your life presently is the quickest cure for tension and anxiety and for resolving those very issues that you wish were not in your life.
Where you are is where you are!
To deny it or try to push it away only creates more of it. As you embrace and then honestly face the situation you have created, you can then let go of it enough and step back far enough from it to now see the bigger picture and get broadest perspective.
By stepping back in this way and giving some "space" to the situation, you can and will be inspired to take the right action that will lead to the Highest Good for all involved. As well, it will help you to transmute the energies of what you don't want into what you do want. In other words, by doing this you will see "outside the box" and thus you will be led to find empowered solutions.
As Albert Einstein said, "you can't solve a problem at the level it was created." You must see the bigger picture by seeing the situation with the eyes and heart of your Soul. You must quiet the fearful ego mind and all the drama it creates and instead listen to your Soul.

1) Today I am going to create a day of peace and harmony.
You get to set the tone for your day. If you wake up grumpy and unfocused, you will attract more of the same. But if, when you wake up, you set a clear intention that you are looking to create peace and harmony in your day today [guess what?] peace and harmony is what you will mostly experience.
So, upon awakening, rather than allowing for random thoughts and feelings to enter, instead, clearly focus on peace and harmony and then think, feel and imagine the events that are coming up in your day to be filled with peace and harmony. As well, during the day create periodic reminders that help you remember that above all other things it is peace and harmony that you want to experience this day.
The more you do this, the easier it gets to do and the better and more intentional your life becomes.
2) I can look at these things going on in my life now and say, "I am in charge here and can be in a place of profound peace."
No matter what you are experiencing, know that you are not a "victim of circumstances," but a Master of your life. You get to make the "best" of any and every situation you are in and you get to choose how you feel about what you are experiencing. You can make lemonade out of lemons. You can see the Highest Good and the Divine plan in it all.

Over the years I have come up with numerous phrases, thoughts and interpretations that have helped me to raise my thoughts/energies around everything that happens in my life. It has made a world of a difference in terms of how I have experienced my life.
So, what I would like to do now is to share some of these with you. These are the ways that I use to see the Highest Good in all situations and to do my best to see everything from a Divine perspective.
You and only you get to give meaning or an interpretation to the experiences you have. What someone else thinks or believes about your experiences or about you doesn't matter at all. All that matters is what you think or believe about yourself or your experiences.
And, yes, you get to choose how to "see" the things that happen in your life. Coming to know that I get to choose how I interpret the events in my life is the most important thing I have learned. Because of this understanding I have created a great deal of peace, joy and empowerment in my life.
So, I will now share with you a number of of these phrases, thoughts and interpretations that I have used over the years. As well, I will offer some commentary as to what they mean to me and how I use them.
This is Part IV of a ten part blog.
This is Part III of a ten part blog.
So, let's begin with the following questions:
What creates your reality?
What creates your experiences?
Who or what gives them meaning?
You and only you do!
If you resolve to have a different reality, you will experience a different reality.
So, how do you resolve to have a different reality?
You do so by observing the thoughts and interpretations you have about yourself and about your experiences and then you consciously and intentionally choose thoughts and interpretations that place everything in the best light. You seek to see the Highest Good in every situation. You seek to see yourself and the events in your life from God/Goddesses' perspective.
As well, you very carefully and very honestly observe what your beliefs about the Universe are and what you expect from it. And if any of it is anything less than what you would ideally want, you change it.
In other words, get quiet for a minute or so now and ask yourself: Is the Universe a friendly and supportive place; or is it a neutral one; or is it "out to get me?" What do you really believe?
This is really worth taking a few minutes to sit quietly with and meditate on. It can and will make a world of a difference for you if you honestly and lovingly look at it. So, please do so before reading on.
Your underlying core belief about what kind of a Universe you live in has a huge impact on what you experience in your life. Usually this is an area that is unexamined by most people. But I can assure you that it is extremely important to look at.

Our ego mind is meant to be the servant of our Soul and not the other way around. Our Soul is meant to be in the driver's seat of our lives for it sees the whole picture and understand the context and purpose for all that we experience in our lives. We are meant to live a life filled with inspiration and revelation and not one that is filled with perspiration and frustration.
So, learning how to get out of your head/mind and instead live from your heart and Soul can be a challenge. But I have found that living an authentic and empowered life can never be achieved if I solely identify myself with my ego and with the "things" in my life. I must instead come to know my Self, that is my Higher Self, and then live an empowered and passionate life that springs forth from the depths of my Soul and heart and is filled with life-sustaining, creative, vibrant energies.
There is a great depth and breadth to this "gift of life" that we have all been given and it is only through mastering our minds and opening our hearts that we can access a fulfilled, authentic and empowered life.
So, what follows are a series of techniques with which I have learned to master my mind. By learning to master my mind I have begun to live my life as an empowered person and not as a victim. I trust that you will find these techniques and the reflections about them of value to you on your path up the mountain of your own Self-Mastery.
This is Part II of a ten part blog.
This is Part I of a ten part blog.
In this series of ten blog posts beginning today, I will explore the concept that "we shape and create our reality and experiences by the thoughts we focus on." As well, I will give advice on how to master the thoughts that we have and thus create the life we want.
Usually we are quite unaware of the predominant thoughts we have. As well, we usually are unaware of the worldview and general belief systems we have.
Most people, without questioning, just follow the dominant thought patterns and worldview of their culture, country or family. There is little reflection about the beliefs that they hold or the way that they look at themselves and others.
Their worldview has been passed down for generations or it is a mish-mash of corporate- fed faux journalism that is often very disconnected from reality and is really just selling advertising. Unfortunately, most people just follow along, never questioning the dominant cultural beliefs, their lives, their own beliefs or themselves.
But as Socrates once said: "The life unexamined is not worth living."
It is a struggle and challenge to rise above the lowest common denominator thinking that is so dominant in our culture. As well, it is not easy to understand that our thoughts affect our reality; and that how our ego or "little self" interprets the events in our lives is never how our Soul does.
This is Part I of a ten part blog.
This is Part IV of a four part blog.
In reality there is no ego. It is an illusion. There is nothing to get through, accomplish, destroy or strive for. There is only SELF. And SELF is God/Goddess.
The only issue is the state of mind we believe to be true and base our lives on. Which do we choose to be: self-absorbed or SELF absorbed? Do we seek the God/Goddess within or do we look without and try to control and manipulate.
As Neale Donald Walsch wrote, “If you don’t go within, you go without.”
If we could release all of our false, limiting beliefs to this state of Beingness or Silence, the Silence would embrace, transmute and dissolve them all. For in this Silence the ego mind is quiet and it is there in that Silence where we can eavesdrop on God/Goddess. It is there that we can finally hear our Selves, listen to our Selves and become our Selves.
Here the superb essence of SELF and its infinite attributes, qualities and potentials are revealed. So ultimately knowing yourself as SELF is the goal. It is the end of all seeking, sorrow, struggle, and suffering; and in “knowing” your SELF you gain real SELF confidence.
“So seek ye first the Kingdom of Heaven and all will be given unto you.” Are you seeking the treasures you can store in heaven or are you seeking transient and ephemeral trinkets and experiences?
For my self, I have found that it is all an “inside job!”
This is Part IV of a four part blog.
This is Part III of a four part blog.
The miraculous benefit of coming to “know” this state of Beingness is experiencing the power of an incredible ease, freedom and real sense of Connection with All That Is. This ease and sense of Connection can and does transmute the “issues” that we resist, deny, and project onto others and that somehow manage to persist no matter how much we “look at” them and “understand” their origins.
After all is said and done, giving up on the notion of trying to “fix” or change ourselves, another, or a situation is the key to this whole new way of Being. This is the surrender necessary to enter your own “knowingness” of perfection. Once you “know” this state of well being as reality then everything not of it can be accepted, embraced, blessed and transmuted.
If we examine ourselves honestly, we will see that we are living in a state of constant striving. Ego, in one word, describes this state. The Buddha identified this state as the root cause of all our suffering.
Ego or our “little self,” has chosen itself as the master of our lives and has decided that its job is to enforce this striving, controlling opinion of reality. There will be no deviation as far as it is concerned. But what it doesn’t get is that it is meant to be the servant of the Soul and not the master. That is why anyone have any experience of the real SELF is an extraordinary occurrence.
This is Part III of a four part blog.
This is Part II of a four part blog.
This third state, Beingness, is a state of well being that is, has always been, and always will be. It is a feminine state of openness and receptivity. It listens to its Self first and then acts out of inspiration. Its opposite is the first state of consciousness which is always calculating with a heartless mind and is always trying to “control” people and events. This state of consciousness sees everything and everyone as “objects” to manipulate.
As well, this third state of Beingness is not caused by any particular action on our part and is present everywhere and in every human being. It is our inherent nature. In the past this state was was only attained by saints and masters and everyone else was at a loss. But Beingness is our natural state, the birthright of each and every one of us. It is in our blueprint, our DNA. We can no longer deny or ignore it.
For millennia we have believed that it is our purpose to labor, attain, and then preserve our external accomplishments. We have been promised that this mode of behavior would give us a sense of security and well being. But the results of this belief system have manifested in a soul less life of solving one problem after another in the pursuit of happiness but with no end in sight and with little happiness to show for it.
As Albert Camus reminded us in his essay The Myth of Sisyphus, modern man’s plight is much like the story of Sisyphus who eternally found him self rolling a big boulder up a hill only to have it roll down again so that he would have to go down the hill and roll it up again. There was not much happiness or sense of purpose to Sisyphus’s life as is the case for so many modern people.

Have you ever just wanted to be your Self? I’m sure you have. But who is this Self that you want to be?
I hope this series of blog posts will help to bring some clarity to you about what this elusive being named the SELF (Higher Self) really is. And in doing so help you to “be” and “find” your SELF.
This is an amazing time in history. On the one hand, there are wars and rumors of even more wars. There are famines and starvation. There are leaders whose consciousness is extremely self-centered and delusional. There is a world-wide economic system based on greed and hoarding that is collapsing.
Yet on the other hand, a whole new paradigm of consciousness is emerging in people who are opening to the Wisdom and Love within themselves and are seeking for answers from within and no longer just looking with out!
Both of these were based on a sense of separation, of otherness and of duality.

I have come to realize that as I have integrated and released many belief systems that I have come to feel so much freer and so much more empowered and authentic than I ever imagined. I have come in this process to really understand what it means to “be true to myself.” And learned that, “if I follow any one other than myself, I surely will get lost!”
The truth is that everything that is represented as what God said—every word of it—has been brought to us by men/women. Now maybe they were good men/women, well-intentioned people, but they were just human beings like you and I are who were filled with strengths and wisdom, but also with the contradictions and foibles that you and I have. They just made huge claims and they spread.
Until you can stand up to the authority of those who claim they have “the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth,” and instead live according to the God/Goddess truth within your own heart, you’re not following your Self. You are following someone else. Period! And that will get you nowhere! Actually, it can only get you eternally and infernally lost!
You are the creator and the authority of the meaning and the purpose of your life. No one else is or can ever be! Claim it!
This is Part IV of a four part blog.
This is part III of a four part blog.
When we reach this point in our personal evolution events in our lives truly have meaning because it is a meaning that comes from within us and not from an external source. We are connected to the power and essence of our Source. We no longer need to go outside of ourselves for answers or validation. It is a wonderful stage in our growth. Our only reference point is within. We now have learned to live our lives from the “inside out.”
The whole point of this is not to get identified with the system of growth you are using presently because it is temporary. Know that at some point you will graduate from needing it and/or it may take on a form very different from what you thought it was.
Please note that I myself am presently writing this piece using a belief system of some kind, but I know it won’t last. Actually, I hope it doesn’t last very long at all.
I am climbing my mountain of mastery and mystery and each turn brings me to a new vista—a new horizon—a new perspective. One that builds to some degree on the previous one, but ultimately it is one that is now very different from the previous one; and it does not allow me to “go back” any more. Once through the “rabbit’s hole”, you are in a totally new dimension—an entirely new reality—and there is nowhere else to go, but deeper.
So, what is important to understand here is that whatever system you are using is bringing you closer and closer to who you really are and to finding your own personal meaning and purpose for your life; and that you are gaining more personal power every step of the way.

In the beginning of our search for meaning and purpose we need structure—a system for healing and growth. It is a natural part of our evolution. We can not take our initial baby steps of growth without structure. We need a common system just to communicate the concepts. But whatever the system, there is a tendency to turn the system into a set of rigid beliefs that “know it all,” so to speak. And these beliefs then validate all those who believe in them. This is when we get stuck. This is when our growth gets stunted.
Each belief we subscribe to is meant to be a stepping stone to the next. It is not meant to be a permanent landing place. Life is an evolutionary process, not a stagnant one, so is it the case with truth. We are meant to take a belief—digest it a bit, integrate it and then make it our own; that is, take the best it has to offer us and then release the rest. Then we move on and integrate a new one and so on up the line.
So, what I am saying here is that it is necessary to transcend our belief systems one by one. And then at some point we come to a place where we release all beliefs and we live our lives from pure intention simply connected to that which comes to us from our Higher Self. Thus it is no longer our beliefs or those of others that create meaning and purpose in our lives, but it is our connection with our God Self that does. We now live a life that is true to itself.

If you follow any one other than your Self, you will surely get lost!
Yanni Maniates
A belief is a thought that you repeat over and over again. Eventually you no longer question its origin or veracity. As well, in time some beliefs become “belief systems” that large numbers of people swear by and no longer question.
What of your beliefs have you consciously examined and explored to determine if they are really “true” for you or not?
Eventually there will come a time in your internal growth process when you will realize that you need to drop your “belief systems” completely—yes, all of them—and I do mean completely! Our Higher Self or our God Self does not adhere to a belief system or to a set of doctrines. It’s only reference point is the God/Goddess within. It’s only authority comes from within.
In order to fully develop our potential we must free ourselves of our existing beliefs. For it only then when we can hear and listen to our inner guidance and be lead by that which is for our Highest Good.
As Krishnamurti wrote: “Stop believing in anything and you may find that which is truth itself.”

This is Part X of a ten part blog. Part I begins on 10/15/07. In order to better understand what follows, it would be best to read the previous parts.
You are solely there as an instrument or as a mirror to reflect back to them some information that might be helpful to them. If they want to receive what you offer, fine. If they won’t want to receive it, that’s fine, too. But if you have as your intention that you want to make them well and want them to be better after the session, guess what, they will feel better, but you won’t. Your energy will have been used and drained.
So, as I do my work I have learned to not do it personally or to take it personally. I don’t care what a person thinks after a class or a session. My sole preparation and intention is to be connected at the heart level. That’s the only thing I care about.
If I speak from my heart, I have done my intention and my “job”. And that is all that matters. If I am concerned about how it went for you, then I really lose my energy to you. If I know that I am coming from my heart, then I have done my best and leave it at that; then I am OK.
For myself, when I started doing readings on a pay-for-basis around 20 years ago, I would literally spend an hour or so preparing before the reading, literally reading for the person without them here to make sure I had something to say when they got here. I did this because I felt that I had to make sure that they felt good when they left. And I would even give two hour readings for people simply to make sure they got enough. Doing this would totally exhaust me.
So, I finally stopped doing readings after a while because it was so darn draining. I finally had to “get”/understand this piece that I am sharing with you now. It is such that now I don’t care before a reading. [I’m not saying here that I do not care for the person. No, not at all, I do! What I don’t care about is listening to or paying any attention to my ego’s fears, insecurities and fantasies of omniscience.]
Actually, I don’t even prepare any more other than that I create a clear intention that I am going to, first, connect with “being present” and in a place of Embrace for myself and then once connected, speak what I feel and sense, unedited and not scripted by my mind.
In other words, I have learned to “speak before I think.” It has all been drummed into us that we must “think before we speak.” Yeah, but that does not get you anywhere in the world of intuition. In this work, you “speak before you think” because as you start to think you start to censor and alter what you are feeling and you get in your own way.
So, to get back to my main point, the essence of this work is Love based. Otherwise it isn’t worth very much. If you do it for ego purposes, it won’t work for you and, though it may serve others to a degree, it will only be to a small degree. All we are here to learn is how to best mirror back to another the good that is within them and to do it through the eyes and heart of our Souls.
This is Part X of a ten part blog.
This is Part IX of a ten part blog. Part I begins on 10/15/07. In order to better understand what follows, it would be best to read the previous parts.
It became crystal clear to me at that point that “the sound of one hand clapping” is the sound/feeling of total oneness with the object of your attention. This is the sound of oneness, of “one hand clapping.” And this is what intuition is all about
It is about becoming one with the object of your attention. No longer is there a sense of separation or duality, but there is now “a becoming one with” and, therefore, a “knowing.” No, it is not with you mind that you know, but with your heart! Actually the etymology of the word intuition is “to see or go within,”
So when you want to read or connect for someone or with something, you become one with them/it. When you want to connect or be with yourself, you become one with your Self. No, not you ego or mind self, but your Higher or God/Goddess Self. It is from there that you really know. It is from there that real connection occurs. This is the place of the Embrace, of Love.
Otherwise you are caught up in an emotion we call love, but please understand that Love is not an emotion. It is a state of being. Love is not a dependent state of being. It is an independent state of being. Love is not attached state of being. It is a detached state of being. Love is a state of being that comes from the Heart and not from the head. It is a state of being that comes from the Soul and not from the ego.
What in heaven’s name is he talking about? One of the biggest problems people have when they are working with others in a healing capacity or even just in a relationship with another is something called co-dependency. What is he mumbling about here?
If you want to intuitively read another person, you really have to be very careful about what you are doing and how and why you are doing it. When you are with another individual either in a relationship, in a healing setting or in a reading setting, be it whether they are asking for your feedback or whether you are just “tuning in” in order to sense what is going on, regardless, you must be there for them as an objective mirror and nothing else. You are not there to be their authority.
As well, you are not there to prove or validate yourself, that is, to prove ,b>to yourself or to them that you can “read”--that is purely ego “stuff.” And if you are doing it for this reason, be assured that you will have your energies sapped.
Also you are not there to heal them. They have to choose to heal. So often, when we do this kind of work, we want to heal the person. We not only want to prove to them that we are good, but, also, that we are a gifted healer. That is all ego! Let go of this way of thinking; it will get you nowhere. It will only drain you!

This is Part VIII of a ten part blog. Part I begins on 10/15/07. In order to better understand what follows, it would be best to read the previous parts.
But other things happened during this experience of the “Embrace.” I, also, made the determination and the clear intention at that time that this is what I am here not only to experience personally, but also to share with others. So, I made the resolve that that was what I would be doing with my life. So, as I said at the beginning of this class, “It is truly an honor and a privilege to have you here in this class. It is an honor and a privilege to have you here to share the possibility of the Embrace with you.”
So, the reason why I have shared this story with you is because I want to really give you a clear framework in this first class about what these classes are really about: and that is, that these classes are all about making that kind of a connection with the Embrace.
As I was saying at the beginning, if you want to connect for another, you need to be present with yourself. And to be present with yourself you must stand in this heart, in this Embrace, in this Love. If you want to “read” for someone, you read from a place of connection, of heart, of the Embrace.
I remember an experience when I was studying Shiatsu about 15 years ago. Shiatsu is the Oriental healing system where you apply acupressure to the acupuncture points with your fingers rather than with needles. When you do Shiatsu it is best, if you want to allow for the unimpeded flow of the energies, to always leave at least one hand on your client’s body during the entire treatment.
I remember one time when I was balancing a person’s energies; I was holding two different points on their body with each of my hands. Then all of a sudden I shifted energetically and made a really, really deep connection with the person. And the next thing I knew, it felt as if I just had one hand on the person and that he and I were one. As well, all was one in the room, all the people, all the objects, all was one. And then a voice drifted into my consciousness and said, “This is the sound of one hand clapping.” This phrase is the famous Zen koan: “What is the sound of one hand clapping?

So, I kept looking for meaning. For me initially, meaning/purpose to me meant finding a cognitive understanding of what life is all about. But, wisely I looked in spiritual directions, too. I started meditating at 16 years of age. I looked into all kinds of “stuff.” And I kept looking and looking and looking and yet still never felt right or felt a connection with myself or with others; still always feeling odd, always odd. I never fit into anything.
And it was not until 20 years ago, when I was sitting in class, similar to this one, with one of my teachers, Philip Burley, when I “got it.” Jaime, my wife and I, would travel three hours one-way to get to these classes because it was the only place we could find anything like it.
We were attending regularly for a year or so and then one night during a session somewhat similar to this, all of a sudden, this profound “Embrace” came over me. It was visceral. I felt it throughout my whole body. I was shaking, vibrating. And it was electric. And it was so embracing and so unitive and so totally transformative. I felt totally accepted and at one with myself. In the middle of it I thought, “Eureka, this is it. This is what I have been looking, but in all the wrong places” [This is a reference to the song “Looking for Love in all the Wrong Places”.]
But it was not that kind of love, that co-dependent love stuff that I was looking for. This was the Real Thing: a profound Embrace, a unitive oneness with my Self. And at that moment or during those moments (it was an experience outside of time and space) I said to myself, “One…this is it. And, two, I am not letting go of this one.” And I didn’t. I then began a practice of spending two hours a night in mediation looking for it. By the way, you don’t really have to sit in meditation for two hours a day to experience this.

This is Part VI of a ten part blog. Part I begins on 10/15/07. In order to better understand what follows, it would be best to read the previous parts.
So, I would like to now share with you why I teach these classes.
In this lifetime, the parenting that I received was such that neither of my parents had the experience of Love or of the Embrace so they were, therefore, incapable of sharing that with me. So as a child, what I basically heard, actually, all I ever heard, was what was wrong with me and what I was not doing right. Even on her deathbed, my mom could not say anything nice to me. That simply was just not possible for her; so bless her, bless her for that!
She wanted to be able to do so, but she couldn’t for whatever reasons; it does not really matter. And it was my choice to be with her and it was a gift. And my dad was not there either, sweet dear soul that he was, because he could not handle her so he was gone emotionally. And I did not have siblings.
And so the profound gift of all this was…and also given the way I was raised, they did not let me go out of their sight much; God forbid I would do something other than what they wanted me to do… I had a very rich interior life. I had no other choice. Either that or go crazy. Which some of you may think is the case. [Laughter.]
The richness of my interior life extended, as well, into my dream life. It is still a problem for me nowadays because I go to sleep and I am so active; it is ridiculous. There is so much going on; I often say to myself, “Give me a break already. Let me just go comatose for a while. Give me a drug. Give me anything.” FYI, I don’t take drugs, never have. But…it is a very active interior life that I have.
So through all this upbringing I was left with really poor self esteem and no real direction or purpose in my life. So, from a very young age I was desperately looking for meaning. My story, I realize, may parallel many of your stories, too. So, please understand that I am not claiming my story to be unique, nor in any way am I asking for sympathy. Nor, other than for teaching purposes, do I identify with it any more.
This is Part VI of a ten part blog.
This is Part V of a ten part blog. Part I begins on 10/15/07. In order to better understand what follows, it would be best to read the previous parts.
Caroline Myss writes in one of her books that during the time of Jesus, the band of light that humans could see was much narrower or smaller than we now see. They could not really see purple or indigo very well. They were not color blind, but they could not see the difference between purple and blue which now we easily see. So, if you can allow what I’ve just said to kind of settle in, it might give you a sense for what you are looking for as you begin to work with your intuitive sight.
Remember, you don’t “see” things with your eyes when you are doing intuitive work. Instead you just “feel”---it is a gut thing---this is just another way of saying you are using your 6th sense.
Where I want to go with all that I have just said is not anywhere near what I actually sat down and prepared to say today. I have learned, especially after doing so many intuitive development classes, not to get caught up in making sure I cover what I prepared for. I have also learned to transfer this same way of flowing with things that I am doing now in this class into most parts of my life, too.
My ego will script how it wants something to turn out and what it scripts is very limited compared to what my Soul is likely to have in mind for me. Also, if I tune in at the Soul level, I will sense and see a situation very differently from how my ego would see it.
So I have learned to let things flow instead of always trying to script them in my life; and I have learned to see them with the eyes and heart of my Soul and not from the myopia or narrow-mindedness of my ego. I choose to feel first and think later.
I have learned to see with my “first eye” and not my physical eyes. Why is it that we call intuitive sight the “third eye”? It really is the “first eye!” It is the first resource we want to use, if we really want to know something or someone.

Also, because of all the left brain training we have had in our culture, intuitive knowing is considered flakey or irrelevant. But it certainly is not! What I hope to help you to understand through this course is how to feel, sense, and “see” a whole new world that is right there before you.
To do so you must learn how to shift out of the rational, cognitive state and into an intuitive, feeling state. You do this by shifting into a meditative state and then you learn how to trust the impressions you are receiving as much as, if not even more than, the physical ones you receive.
The cognitive state is a very narrow band of reality. Very little information comes thru that state. The greater part of reality comes through to you by your picking up on vibrations, in other words, by feeling. As Carl Jung said, “most of Reality is not thinking.”
Also, “we are vibratory beings” and must understand the implications of that phrase. We can live, be or travel into any level, dimension, time, or space. All we have to do is change our vibration. We can time travel into the future or the past. We can, just by changing our vibration, go anywhere we want to go in the universe. What????????? You say!
You don’t have to believe what I have just said or understand it. You don’t even have to remember what I just said. But the fact is that all you have to do is to clearly and intentionally focus your vibration and you are “there;” and “there” can be any “where;” and you can be “there” as any “thing” and you can also be there in any “time! “
We live in such a narrow band of reality, for example, our ability to see. We see within the infra red and the ultra violet bands of light. It is within this band of vibrations that we are able to see visually with the naked eye. Yet there are an infinite number of bands of reality that exist beneath the infrared and beyond the ultraviolet.
These are the bands that the animals pick up on and are guided by. This is how earthquakes and other natural phenomena are sensed before they physically occur. The vibrations are picked up on. The point is the bands go infinitely below infrared and infinitely above ultra violet. And guess what? You are capable of tuning into any one of those bands and “seeing.” But you have been so myopically trained, so narrowly trained, to see only in this infrared to ultraviolet band that you may not be able to even imagine what I am talking about.
This is Part IV of a ten part blog.
This is Part III of a ten part blog. Part I begins on 10/15/07. In order to better understand what follows, it would be best to read the previous parts.
So the purpose of these classes is to help you go there, i.e., within. For it is there where your intuitive abilities reside. We are all energy beings, yes! You included! You are energy in motion, even though at times it might feel like you are moving very slowly. [Laughter]
Everything is energy. All that we ever do is interpret energy, receive energy, and “pick up” on energy. What we are not doing is hearing, seeing, touching, tasting, feeling or smelling. No, we are not!
We are vibrations of energy who pick up on other vibrations of energy. One of the problems with “reading” or seeing or sensing energies is that the human race for many millennia has been focused on the visual as the primary apparatus for sensing vibration. Over half of our brain is dedicated to this visual faculty simply because we have trained it that way; it has become our habitual way of interpreting/receiving vibration.
But, for instance, with regard to our cats, their whole thing is sniffing. You give them something, they sniff it. They cannot see color like we do. Their vision is more black and white than ours. That is actually why they can be more nocturnal. Their first way of receiving vibration is to smell it. As well, they have a greater hearing acuity than we do. They can hear a broader range of sound than we can. We consider them to be more primitive because they use a more primitive part of the brain, i.e., smelling. From my point of view, they are not more primitive, they simply have developed smelling as their primary way of sensing vibration.
Where so many people get tripped up with regard to developing their intuitive abilities is that they feel they cannot “see.” They assume that to be intuitive means that you “see” subtle energies as you would see them in the physical world. They believe that it should all be in Technicolor, that it should be as clear as day, like St. Paul on the road to Damascus when he encountered the resurrected Jesus.
But this is not the way most people “see.” Actually, all you are doing is “feeling” and not seeing. All you are doing is interpreting vibrations. You get caught up in expecting to “see” and then you miss what you are feeling or sensing and dismiss it all. Then you say you can’t do it or don’t get it, when, in fact, you are getting it. But you have been trained to believe that “seeing” is the only way to receive intuitive impressions.

This is Part II of a ten part blog. Part I begins on 10/15/07. In order to better understand what follows, it would be best to read the previous part.
Please know that we are all God Selves. We are all God in finite form. We are here to have the experience of being God in a finite form. Somehow, though, we have forgotten this simple fact. So, we give our authority away to others, be it to mentors, masters, guides, angels, teachers, teachings, relationships, corporations, causes, and all kinds of other things, and we then never find our own “God”ness for ourselves.
So, the purpose of these classes is to help you learn how to get in touch with that God/Goddess Self within and to be present with that Self and from that Presence be present for yourself and others. Otherwise you can not be present. Otherwise you are lost in your ego, lost in your illusions, lost in your fears, lost in your masks and in your veils, lost in your present personality and all of its limiting beliefs and fears.
Therefore, you are lost in who you think you are not who you really are. Who you think you are, is simply not who you are. If you want to look at it in a broader perspective, you have lived many, many, many lifetimes. How could you identify solely with this lifetime; this gender; this race; this culture you are in? It is ludicrous when you think about it because you are none of those identities at essence.
Be that as it may, go ahead and be a happy Dane [of Danish ancestry]. [Here I am talking to a student in the class of Danish ancestry.] Enjoy that experience. Get into your birth culture and really enjoy it.
I am not saying to forget that you have these roots in this lifetime. But when you think about this topic more deeply, you realize that your roots are the same as everyone else’s and that you are the same as everyone else. That is, you are a Divine being in human form taking on a finite experience for who knows what reason(s). But if you go within and honestly and lovingly look at yourself, you will find out what those reasons are and you will then know who you are and why you are.
Thus, whatever you are experiencing presently in your life is no longer seen as a problem. What you are experiencing no longer becomes your identity. You can go much deeper into knowing who you really are and into integrating, understanding and embracing your present experiences, both the “good” and the “bad.”
This is Part II of a ten part blog.
This is Part I of a ten part blog.
We are all blessed with the gift of intuitive “in” sight or intuitive knowing. It is simply not the case that some of us have the “gene” for intuition and others do not. We all have the “genius” of intuition imbedded in us.
It’s just a matter of learning how to listen to that voice within. It is a matter of learning the “language” of intuition, that is, the language of the heart. For some people this “language” of intuition is a foreign tongue, one which they were not raised knowing. For others, they picked it up somewhere along the line and it all comes easy for them. But just as with any foreign language, you can learn it and you can become quite proficient in communicating with it. Actually, in time, it becomes totally natural and easy.
In this mini-blog course I will lead you on an adventure into the world of the intuitive muse. You will learn how to listen to the oracle within you.
It is fun and it is easy, easier than learning a foreign language actually. As well, I will help you to understand and experience the profound love that is the “ground” from which intuition arises. So, let us begin.
What follows below is the partial transcript of a live class in which I was first talking about the phenomenon of channeling and then I went on to discuss what intuitive development really is all about.
“There is a phenomenon called channeling that is quite misunderstood. Channeling is not about channeling this particular being or that one; it is simply a process of being in touch with your own God or Higher Self and letting that flow through you.
We all have guides, mentors, masters, angels, etc. that support us. Their purpose is to help us to make a deep, lasting connection to our Higher Selves directly and on our own. While we are still learning to make this connection, they help to transduce the higher energies and bring them into a vibratory level that we can receive and integrate. But ultimately we are meant to channel our own God Self.

This whole process that I am describing to you is astounding in what it reveals to you about your “story.” As you begin to unravel your “story,” as you “inquire into” and “examine” what you believe and who you think you are, you will be amazed at what you uncover and recover.
As you do this process, you will no doubt, at some point, be hoodwinked into believing you have it all together, too. Don’t buy into that one either. We are all “works in progress” and we will never get it done! It is just an ongoing process of discovery and recovery and ascent into higher and higher levels of Self-Mastery and selfless-Love.
Where I would like to leave you now is to suggest to you that It, that is, Life, is all about learning how to love unconditionally, everyone and everything you experience. Actually, L I F E is an acronym for Love It For Ever!
Life is learning how to love, accept, embrace and appreciate all that we experience, no matter how it may seem.
Nothing is at it appears to be. What we think we are seeing is often just us “looking darkly” through the distorted lenses of our limiting beliefs.
We were made from Love and out of Love and we are being given the opportunity to “own” and embody the essence of who we are. By having all the experiences we have, both the “good” and the “bad,” we are given the opportunity to love it all. As we do, we come to appreciate and embody the heart and Love of God/Goddess. We then become like God/Goddess and see it all through the eyes and heart of Love.
As Saint Paul wrote: So faith, hope, love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
Go for it! You have nothing to lose and your Kingdom to gain! This is what the purpose and meaning of your Life is all about!
Don’t take my word for it, though! Only take yours!
Peace be with you!
This is Part XII of a twelve part blog.
This is Part XI of a twelve part blog. Part I begins on 09/03/07. In order to better understand what follows, it would be best to read the previous parts.
From my point of view, as I wrote above, it all comes down to what Albert Einstein once wrote. Namely, that the most important question you can ask yourself is: “Is this a friendly Universe or not?”
Everything in your life is predicated on your core beliefs about the nature of this Universe and of Life itself. What kind of Universe do you believe you live in? What kind of Creator put this all together? Or, is there even a Creator? Is it all random? Is there meaning and purpose to it all?
Whatever you believe, you experience!
Whatever you are looking for, you get!
Whatever you ask for, you receive!
Whatever you are looking at, you see!
Whatever you believe, whether it is conscious or not, the Universe still is always responding in kind. “‘Like’ does in fact attract ‘like’.”
So what do you “like?” What do you expect? What do you believe is possible for you?
Who do your think you are--a child of God/Goddess or an orphaned misfit?
Do you believe that if you ask, you will receive? Or do you believe that the Universe is arbitrary and totally unpredictable?
Do you feel worthy of receiving? Or do you see yourself as a beggar just hoping that some benevolent power will grant you at least one wish because you have been so willing to be subservient to him or her? Are others more worthy than you?
As you “play” with this process of “Face, Embrace and Replace,” all kinds of questions like these above will begin to arise into your awareness. Stop and examine each one carefully and fully as I suggested above in Part VIII. Leave no stone unturned. For you never know what you will find waiting there for you under the most unassuming of stones.

As I wrote earlier, “you can’t do it alone!” And the most important belief I feel that we have to clear within ourselves is that we somehow believe that we are alone. We are not.
We are not “spiritual orphans” abandoned by a heartless Creator. We are precious, beautiful, beloved children that are cherished beyond what we can imagine by an incredibly loving Being. Yes! this applies to you and to every other being in all of Creation!
The Universe is indeed a friendly place. It is here to support you. It is filled with beings, physical and non-physical, who are always available and very willing to help you fulfill all your dreams. All you have to do is to ask and you will receive. The Universe wants to support you in any and every way possible!
I ask you now to re-read through the three preceding paragraphs again and see if any of what I have written is something that you do not presently believe. If there is something that is hard to believe or impossible to believe or sounds like a bunch of drivel, then perhaps you need to look at that belief and be open to the possibility that you may be looking at all of this in a mistaken way.
Believe me, if you can truly “own” in your heart and soul what is contained in these three paragraphs, you are well on you way to being true to your inherent, essential nature and to a life filled with meaning and purpose.
Take the time to “Face, Embrace and Replace” these three paragraphs and the beliefs contained within them, word by word, sentence by sentence, belief by belief and in time you will be free to be yourself!
Why am I so sure of this? Because I have come to understand that all healing is a spiritual matter. It’s not mental or physical or metaphysical!
It is about learning how to reconnect with the Love and support of your Creator! It’s about learning how to bypass the duality of the mind and enter the Oneness of the Heart.

Below is a poem by Eileen Cady, a co-founder of the Findhorn Community that I feel can help you to better understand the process and the opportunity that you are offering yourself when you consciously choose to really “be true” to yourself.
I would suggest that you read this passage over slowly and carefully a couple of times and let its message sink in. For within it is contained the keys to taking courage and to “replacing” and transmuting all that which is not you into all that which is!

So, how this “Face, Embrace and Replace” process works is that you first identify a belief or two about yourself or your life that you feel uncomfortable with. You can do this simply by just sitting down and spontaneously writing down whatever comes to your mind and as you do you will come up with a few uncomfortable beliefs.
Then, after that doing that, find a comfortable place where you can quietly be away from the distractions of life. Take a few deep, cleansing, relaxing, healing breaths, close your eyes, and then just sit there with one of the beliefs you are uncomfortable with.
This is the “Facing” phase of the process. By doing this, you are identifying the belief and taking ownership and responsibility for it.
Now comes the “Embracing” phase of the process where you allow whatever feelings that come up to come up around this belief. Just “embrace” these feelings that come up now—no matter how uncomfortable or negative they may be. Just sit and be with them for two to three minutes or so. If you wander, just come back to the focus of this exercise which is your feelings and not your “thinkings.”
Then after you have sat with your feelings for a bit, ask your self how you can change this belief. You are now entering the “Replace” phase. Then sit and “listen” to whatever impressions, thoughts, feelings or images that come up for you. Don’t be afraid of what you “hear” or “see” or “sense.” Just accept! Change is a challenge for almost everyone, but it is good!
Then ask for the courage to take the actions and make the changes in your life that need to be made in order for you “to be the change you wish to become!”
Yes, truthfully “facing” and identifying your beliefs is challenging and so is “embracing” the feelings that surround them, but the biggest challenge is “replacing” them. And to replace them you must have the courage “to be yourself.” This is the biggest and most important challenge you can possibly take on in your life, that is, to dare “to be your self!”
You can “be yourself!” You are not alone; but boy it is not easy to believe at first!

Life is a juxtaposition of opposites. The yin is looking for it’s yang to complete itself; the yang for it’s yin; the negative is looking for the positive; the positive for its negative; the feminine for the masculine; the masculine for the feminine; the ebb for the flow; the flow for the ebb; the in-breath for the out breath; the out-breath for the in-breath.
So, as we sort through all the dross of our beliefs, please understand that everything we unearth and experience is there solely to help us to climb higher upon our mountain of Self-Mastery. Our “opposites” are our “complements.”
Nothing is in our way! Everything is The Way! Your Way! The “High” Way!
So which way are you going? Which path are you taking—the High road or the low road?
One of the most valuable phrases and techniques that I have found on my path is: “Face, Embrace and Replace.”
Over twenty years ago, I had a spiritual reading with a man whose name I have lost and forgotten. In that reading he introduced me to this phrase and the “work” that goes along with actualizing it. I am eternally indebted to him for it. For it has given me the formula for how to look carefully at my belief systems and then how to transmute the dysfunctional ones into functional ones.
So, again, it all began with me not being comfortable in the roles my parents and friends were expecting me to play.
How about you, did you just accept the roles you were uncomfortable with anyhow and just try to make the “best of it?” Or did you totally deny that you had dreams and desires that were not being supported?
What roles are you presently playing that are not comfortable or true to who you are?

Actually, at this point it might be helpful for us to explore the etymology of the word “story.” It comes from the Greek and Latin and means “to inquire into” or “to examine.” So, as we explore our stories here, let’s really “inquire into” and “examine: honestly and thoroughly what beliefs we base our lives upon.
As Socrates once said:
The life unexamined is not worth living.
What we are exploring here is not simply a mental exercise, but it is a “life” exercise. This is about exercising your “life-giving” muscles. These “life-giving” muscles are your ability to choose, to create, to intend, to dream, to love, to laugh, to be free, to nourish yourself, to experience change, to honor and love yourself and others, to “be true” to yourself, to “know yourself” from the inside out and to experience the God/Goddess within you.
I suspect that one of the biggest false beliefs that I carried around for a very long time was the belief that “I was not good enough.” I was always overestimating others and underestimating myself. I might add at this point that this is the best way I have found to give away my power!
Now, let me be clear here I am not suggesting that you now go around overestimating yourself and underestimating others. That doesn’t work either. For some folks this is the belief/pattern that needs to be examined. It wasn’t the one I needed to examine, though. But we are all in this together and opposites do manage to find each other in order to balance each other out and find the “golden mean.”
We create our opposite in order to find the balance we seek and to help another find his or hers. It really is a neat Universe we live in! I’ll explain further.

This is Part V of a twelve part blog. Part I begins on 09/03/07. In order to better understand what follows, it would be best to read the previous parts.
I knew that something was “wrong,” so to speak, when I was quite young. I always felt that I didn’t fit in anywhere—even before entering Kindergarten! My parents wanted me to be a “certain” way and my friends wanted me to be a “certain” way. But none of it was comfortable for me. No of it made sense. None of it fit! None of it was “certain” to me!
I’m not sure when the following question began to be a conscious one for me, but it seems that it was one that came up for me at a very early age, for it has stayed at the forefront of my awareness all my life and has been the primary determining factor in all my decisions in my life; it has been, in effect, my North Star: The question I am referring to is: What is the purpose of my Life! What is the meaning of Life?
I know that these are two questions, not one, but for me they were always one and the same—inseparable—two sides of the same coin! I could never get away from these questions. No matter how hard my ego/little self tried to distract me, these questions always appeared up-front and center-stage for me.
Yes, these questions were and are my North Star! Whenever I remembered to ask them of myself and then stopped long enough to listen to the answer I got and followed what I received, I would, as a result, find myself on my path and would be actualizing my purpose in my life and my life would have meaning.
Whenever I didn’t ask these questions and relegated them to the dust bin of obscurity and irrelevance in my life, I got myself in big trouble. Yes, they were always there in the forefront, but I, at times, looked away or down and missed what was right in front of me and what was most important.

Thus, I discovered that I had to dig deep within to find the “bedrock” of my “being” and free myself from the quicksand of other people’s desires and expectations of me.
To do this I had to plumb the depths of my little self and navigate past all of its fears and insecurities and come up, instead, to land upon the solid ground of the shores of my Higher Self! There I could stand on the core foundation of who I really AM. There I could look at myself in the mirror and see who I really AM!
As I began to do this, I clearly realized, then and there, that I could no longer live in the shadow of my ego or of someone else’s expectations, but had to live in the Light of my Soul!
I am well aware that all of this is a lot easier said than done—but regardless this kind of brutally honest soul-searching is very, very necessary.
So, what I would like to share with you now is a bit of my story; how I originally wrote it, how I gradually began to read it over and rewrite it, how I eventually chucked the whole thing, and how I, now, no longer have a story, but just AM from moment to moment!
It’s all about “Being” and not about “doing.” A story “does;” a Life IS. I choose to BE who I AM and not to just “do.” I am a human “being” and not a human “doing.”
So, let’s explore this story a bit, perhaps it can help you to find or refine yours, as well!
So, let’s discover what it means “to live your life from the inside out,” to live your life seeing everything and everyone through the eyes and heart of your Soul rather than following a prepared, cookie-cutter script and being blind to and afraid of the possibilities that are you!
This is Part IV of a twelve part blog.
This is Part III of a twelve part blog. Part I begins on 09/03/07. In order to better understand what follows, it would be best to read the previous parts.
In other words, I lived with beliefs and expectations that were limiting and that assumed that my life was not my own. I assumed that my life was just something that had already been scripted by others and that it was my responsibility to follow that script and then all would be well and safe!
But what I didn’t understand was that all the “stuff” that I didn’t want in my life was there simply because I didn’t realize that I was letting it be there. I was allowing it to be there because I believed, deep down inside, that life was not much more than tagging along on a prearranged plan, following orders, paying taxes, having a few beers and then dieing.
Parenthetically, I know that the above description of what I expected of life sounds rather morose and exaggerated, but it was pretty true to course considering what I was experiencing in my life. But, and this is a big BUT, there was also a part of me that knew that life was about joy, freedom and love.
But somehow my dysfunctional, old belief system had me accepting as true that I had to endure all this “sad” stuff so that as a reward for my penance I could occasionally be doled out a few of life’s pleasures and riches. Boy was I ever totally wrong about that belief!
I came to realize that I really had a poverty mentality: Life was a drag; Money was not easy to attain; I had little to offer others; I wasn’t really worthy; every thing was hard to come by! To attain anything, one had to work one’s tail off; nothing comes easy; it’s immoral to charge for my services; Money is the root of all evil; etc, etc, etc. My! What a litany of life-restricting negativity.
So, in time I came to realize that another’s person’s dreams were truly my nightmares!
And I also came to realize that there was no safety or security on the shifting sands of another’s’ expectations of me. Sound familiar?

But it was interesting that I really believed that the characters in the story that I had “bought into” were real, even though I wasn’t being “real” or honest with myself. Actually, I thought that these characters and scenarios were more real than I was.
In other words, I believed that these characters and scenarios had an existence separate from me and that they could influence and affect me no matter what I did or didn’t do. I thought I was powerless in the face of these all-knowing, all-mighty “external” forces.
But I didn’t realize that I created them all for me to learn from and that they did not have an existence separate from me. They were me! I created them. I gave them life. I perpetuated them because I chose to. I allowed them to remain in my life.
How I chose to view them determined how I experienced them! They were me. I was them! No one forced them on me, I invited them all in! They were mine! Period!
Whew! In other words, everything in my life was something that I had, in some way or another, chosen, consciously or unconsciously, to have there with me. This was my script/story and I had written/created it all—all the drama, pathos, comedy and tragedy! All of it!
It was all mine and no one else’s! So, I either was conscious about what I was doing and got something I really wanted or I was unconscious about what I wanted and got what I didn’t want or understand. So, no matter how you cut it, whether I was conscious or not, I had attracted and drawn it all into my life.
This is Part II of a twelve part blog.
This is Part I of a twelve part blog.
I have a story to tell and that story is my story. I once thought that I had my story “down,” so to speak, and that I was living my own life. But as I became more and more conscious and honest with my self, I realized that it was not really my story that I was living. It was someone else’s.
It turned out that as I examined what I was doing with my life, that really all I was doing was following the script that someone else wrote for me. Actually, as I got even more truthful with myself, I realized that I, somewhere deep inside me, believed that it was my responsibility to follow the script that was handed to me.
That was kind of dumb, I guess, but it took quite awhile to open up to the truth of the matter and to be genuinely honest with myself.
Actually, it took quite a bit of courage to look at my life candidly and realize that I was living a “lie.” I wasn’t living my life. I was living the expectations and dreams of my parents and of others. All of which were well-meaning, I might add, but very little of which were mine.
And, as a result of all this, I came to ask myself this all important question:
So, I finally I got around to realizing that my life Is My Story and no one else’s; and that I can change it, keep it the way it is, erase parts or all of it, create new scenes, characters and scenarios, whatever! It’s my play to write and re-write—“to play with,” so to speak!
What I want to be and do, I CAN be and do!! Really! I just have to discover and recover what it is that I want to be and then have the courage to claim it!

This is Part IV of a four part blog. Please see my blog post of 08 20 07, 08 22 07 and 08 27 07 to read the passage from I Corinthians 13 that I am commenting on and to get a context for what I am speaking about in this blog post.
Given the imperfections of our ego minds, this is such a hard lesson to fathom. We keep being diverted into getting as many things “done” as possible in our lives and being better than another at doing one thing or another, rather than staying focused on learning how to “be” ourselves; and in “being” ourselves truly love, appreciate, accept and be present for ourselves and for one another.
You are not defined by what you “do,” but by who you “be.” And at the core or essence level of who you really are is simply and purely Love. You are Love and he/she, that is another, is Love. We are all Love. This, I believe, is the message Jesus wished for us to learn.
He didn’t care how good we got at doing anything, no matter how spiritual it was, [speaking in tongues, healing, prophesizing, etc.] all he cared about was whether we knew how to really Love. And Paul in his letter to the Corinthians was inspired to help the Corinthians get their priorities right, too.
How about you, are your priorities right? Are you looking within to find meaning and purpose in your life, or not?
And if you are looking within, great, but are you making a big deal of how good you are at some aspect of it? Or are you just quietly, but very powerfully allowing Love to lead the way in your life?
It doesn’t matter what you “do” or “have” in life. All that matters is who you “be” and how you “be.”
“Seek ye first the Kingdom of Heaven and all things will be added to it.”

We have incarnated, from my point of view, onto this planet in order to learn how to give and receive Love, period! We are put through the crucible of this life and many other earthly, challenging lifetimes in order to learn that, no matter what, “Love is the Answer.” If we can finally understand that our purpose in life is all about learning how to love ourselves and another as we would wish them to love us, we have gotten what unconditional Love is all about and why we incarnated on this planet.
Earth is a training ground for learning how to love unconditionally. We are all faced with numerous trials and tribulations in this regard and if we rely on our minds to find a solution or an answer, we are forever lost. But if we seek for answers within, there in the Silence, where the mind has stopped all its incessant ruminations, we get to hear the “still, small voice within.”
And it is there where we know who we really are and how to Love. There the bigger picture is revealed. There we see the Divine Timing, Order and Plan for all that transpires in our life and can be at peace no matter what!
There we are held in the “Embrace.” There we “no longer see through a glass darkly, but then face to face.” It is there where we get the strength and inspirations to Love ourselves and another fully and unconditionally. It is there that we realize that our value does not lie in any external things we do or have, but in the internal qualities of Love that we develop.
So, what treasures are you storing up for your transition to the spirit world or for your transition to “Heaven,” earthly ones that will vanish or internal ones that will bring you eternal joy and happiness?

As well, for this “new” religion to spread the way it did, despite all the strong persecution from the establishment, it had to be such a transformative experience that it would inspire people to risk “life and limb” to spread the “Word.”
So, early Christianity certainly was a religion that touched many people very deeply. The gatherings of early Christians were very “spirit-filled,” that is, charismatic and Pentecostal. People spoke in tongues, channeled, did healings, did prophecy, performed miracles, etc. It was quite a rich, emotional atmosphere that was created.
In the passage above St. Paul was writing to the Corinthians in order to help them to understand that all the phenomena that they were experiencing were good, but that they must not lose sight that the whole point of all this was the underlying Love that made all these miraculous things possible. To lose sight of that would be to lose sight of the whole message and mission of Jesus and it would also be losing sight of the whole purpose of the early Church that was emerging after Jesus’ Resurrection.
We all get so caught up in the phenomena of life and lose track of the essence of it all. In other words, we get caught up in the glitz and glitter of life and miss out on its real meaning. We get caught up in all kinds of surface external events and miss out on the internal aspect of things. We get caught up in “doing” all kinds of things, but miss out on just “being” true to our selves and “knowing” ourselves and what our real purpose in life is. We easily allow ourselves to be distracted.
This is Part II of a four part blog.
This is Part I of a four part blog.
Though I speak in the tongues of men and angels, but have not Love, I am a noisy gong or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. Though I give away all I have to feed the poor, and though I deliver my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient; Love is kind; Love is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong; but rejoices in the right. Love bears all things; believes all things; hopes all things; endures all things.
Love never ends; as for prophecy, it will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. For our knowledge is imperfect and our prophecy is imperfect, but when the perfect comes the imperfect will pass away.
When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; when I became a man, I gave up childish ways. For now we see through a glass darkly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall understand fully, even as I have been fully understood.
So faith, hope, love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
The quote above from I Corinthians 13 is probably my favorite quote in all of Western literature.
What I would like to do here is to first give a context for why St. Paul wrote what he wrote in Corinthians and then offer commentary on the actual passage.
After the Resurrection of Jesus a man named Saul was walking on the road to Damascus whereupon he had had a vision of the resurrected Jesus. In this encounter Saul, who previously was fiercely persecuting Jesus, had a major conversion or a metanoia experience and became a convert of Jesus. It was here as well that his name was changed to Paul.
Paul then went on, along with Peter, to be one of the two major foundational personalities in the spread of the emerging “new” religion, Christianity. In its early days Christianity was a very charismatic and Pentecostal religion. In order for it to spread as quickly and widely as it did, it needed to be a religion that had a deep profound affect on its followers.
At the beginning of the Christian era most people were illiterate and there certainly were no radios or TVs to spread the message. The message had to be spread by its power and it had to strongly touch the populace very deeply. It had to be “an experience they wouldn’t forget” so to speak, so that it would indelibly be etched in their hearts and minds.
As well, it had to be a very potent experience for them to change their religious affiliation to a “new” religion. Remember, they were living in very parochial, closed-minded times and changing one’s religion was no small thing to do. There was a lot of social pressure not to “leave the fold.”

In this and my previous blog post I am commenting on a passage from my favorite spirit being, White Eagle. White Eagle is a wonderful soul who was channeled by Grace Cook. There is a wealth of published material available if you want to explore his teachings. For more information go to http://www.whiteagle.org
White Eagle was known as the Gentle Brother because of the tender, loving, yet very powerful spirit that his words and presence embodied. He cut to the chase in all that he said, speaking with a simplicity, yet with a directness and a power that cut through all illusions. His goal was to awaken us from the sloth of our ego and help us instead to take flight with the wings of our Soul.
I would like to continue by commenting on the following passage which is a continuation of the passage in my previous blog post:
We speak as one of you, we suffer as you suffer. The thought comes to us: ‘But why should you, a spirit, suffer because we suffer?’ Because, my brethren, love gives us understanding, it makes us feel with you, as you feel. Yet although we feel with you, and understand you, and absorb from you your heartaches, your sorrows do not weigh us down, because love is the divine transmuter. Love is the alchemist which transmutes the base metal of earthliness, the pain and passions of earth. Love transmutes all this, absorbs it and changes it into pure gold.
This is why you feel strengthened after contact with your guide, and you know that all is well. Your guide has brought you the light and love of God which reigns supreme in the heavenly state, and you are uplifted and strengthened and blessed by it. But you have to learn yourself to receive the cup and transmute the sorrows and sufferings of your earthly life. The Christ in you has to transmute and redeem you; then the lower self passes away and no longer has any power over you.
So, by learning how to regularly tap into the Divine essence of our Soul, namely Love, we can “make all things new.” For Love allows us to see the broadest perspective on any and every situation and it allows us to see the Divine Plan, Order and Timing that are in play in all that we experience. There really is a loving Divine Plan that is working itself out in our lives.
The Master Alchemists of old understood that “all things are good” and that if we can just raise our energies and see it all from the highest perspective, that is Love, that we would then have shifted our consciousness sufficiently to then have transmuted that which appeared to be “lead” to our limited ego mind into pure the “gold” that it was all along. It’s all a matter of perspective.
As Anais Nin wrote: We don't see things as they are. We see things as we are. So, as we raise our vibrations to that of Love, we see Love. If we look for the “lead” in life, we find it. If we look for the “gold,” we see and experience only that.
We are the ones who give meaning and value to the experiences we have; no one else can or does. In and of themselves our experiences are neutral. Therefore, we are both the creators and interpreters of our reality.
So, learn to quiet your mind and open your heart and tap into the essence of who you are on a regular basis and by doing so you will have become a conscious, loving creator of your world, that is you will have become a Master Alchemist.
This is Part II of a two part Blog.
In my next two blog posts I will be commenting on a passage from my favorite spirit being, White Eagle.
I would like to begin by commenting on the following passage:
In the world there is too much haste; there is no calm, no period of retirement from the battle of life. Some of you are so eager to get on with a particular plan that you feel yourself frustrated by any halt. You become filled with a kind of fever; and maybe when you are told to be patient you say to yourself, ‘But the people in spirit don’t understand the needs of the flesh and the demands of the earthly life.’
My brother, my sister, we in spirit understand only too well the claims of the physical life, for we have, stored up in our souls, experiences such as you are even now undergoing. So when you are told to make time to withdraw from feverish activity, remember that those who proffer this advice have learned the need for this withdrawal; for surely, surely only in the secret places will man make contact with the Source of his being; only in the secret places can he truly pray.
We are all more often than not in a hurry. We are even in a hurry to find time to relax or meditate or pray. How insane! We find ourselves on a treadmill of “doing” one thing after the other. Do, do, do, do, do--all day long! We keep doing “doo” “dooing” all over ourselves.
We somehow think that it is best for us to ignore our innate desire to find calm, comfort and solace in the “still, quiet place within.” Therefore, we never really get in touch with the essence of who we really are and with what really matters in our lives. “Doing” replaces “Being” and we become human “doings” rather than the human “beings” that we are really meant to be.
We are not on this planet solely for the purpose of feverishly running around trying to get an endless, unrelenting series of unforgiving chores done. We are here to deepen our connection with our Source and to learn how to feel embraced by the Love of God/Goddess and to share that embrace with others. We have eternal life and we are meant to deepen our connection to this eternal part of ourselves and not solely identify with the transient, ephemeral, “doing,” present personality part of ourselves.
Life is an opportunity to learn how to deepen and broaden our ability to give and receive Love. What we accomplish or do externally is only meant to be the backdrop for this schooling in learning how to Love. What we “do” is not meant to be our raison d’etre (our reason for being). Our raison d’etre is about coming to truly know and embody the Love that is at the Source of our Being.
By running around and getting caught up in a series of endless “things to do” we avoid our true purpose and live in denial of our true Selves.
This is Part I of a two part Blog.
This is Part XII of a twelve part blog. Part I begins on 05/14/07. In order to better understand what follows, it would be best to read the previous parts.
So, in conclusion, learn how to relax and let go emotionally and let God/Goddess and your Guides lead you into the fulfillment of your life.
When you have something that is hard to let go of, ask God/Goddess to take away that old baggage—to simply take it away—and to replace it with clarity. Just hand it over; it’s not your problem any more!
And by just simply doing this, you can release your hold on the problem. And by doing so, you create enough distance from it so that you can see the bigger picture and listen to the guidance that is coming in from a broader perspective.
Doing it the old way from within the box of your ego’s mind, will get you nowhere. It will just get you further boxed in.
So, allow yourself to be helped by God/Goddess. Have faith and confidence in Her/Him. If you can’t let go of a thought or situation, ask God/Goddess to help you release it. And She will. Be patient, gentle, generous and compassionate with yourself and with others.
Constantly keep refocusing the negative “stuff” by asking to see the “Good” in any given situation. As well, honor other people’s journeys rather than judging them, appreciate and accept every one and every thing with gratitude, and always ask yourself: what did this situation or individual teach me and then sit back and listen for the answer?
You are not alone! By no means are you alone! Hold on to God/Goddess’s hand. Do not let go! He/She is your strength and sustenance.
You were never intended to “go it” alone. You are not a “spiritual orphan.” God is always on your side, that is, inside you! So, quiet the ego mind and listen and you will come to hear and Know Thy Self.
So, learn how to look for “Soul”lutions in your life. Rather than trying to it do it all by yourself and then getting stuck in finding only “sole”lutions.
You don’t have to “wing it” on your own anymore. You’re not alone anymore! You have this wonderful group of souls who are very ready and able to assist you in finding your Self and being true to your Self.
You have an incredible well of Wisdom and Love you can tap into at any time. Just ask and then open to receive.
In conclusion, stop and ask yourself; “Who now do I choose to talk to or ‘commune with’ all day long?”
Give it a try! You have absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain. “Everlasting life” is waiting for you!
Please note that the word “communion” or “communicate” comes from the Latin and means to become one with. So, our purpose in life is to “communicate” with God/Goddess so that we can become one with Her/Him and then we can truly come to know and BE who we really ARE!
Peace be with you!
This is the final blog post of a twelve part blog.
This is Part XI of a twelve part blog. Part I begins on 05/14/07. In order to better understand what follows, it would be best to read the previous parts.
So, take the time every day to connect with and “listen” to your Soul’s promptings. Ask God/Goddess to help you with this. Ask your Guides to help you with this. Just ask and ask and ask and in time you will receive the guidance and clarity you seek.
And you will, through this process, have learned how to no longer listen to your ego, but instead to be guided by the promptings of your Soul. You will then know what it means to live a “Soul-filled” life.
So, whenever you find yourself lost in your thoughts of limitation and fear, ask God/Goddess and your Guides to help you find your way back home again. Ask for clarity and then refocus your negativity to positivity, so that you can release yourself from the yoke of the fears, anger etc that encumber you.
In other words, learn how to give it over to God/Goddess or your Guides for a solution. Don’t try to figure it out all by your self or try to control it, just offer it up to God/Goddess, let go and trust that it all will work out for your Highest Good and for the Highest Good of all concerned.
Your ego mind could not possibly have all the answers, only your God/Goddess mind does. Quiet the ego mind and then listen to the promptings and inspirations you get. Release your fears and let God/Goddess be your strength and inspiration.
Your ego is not strong; it is actually very weak and will eventually crumble at the slightest provocation. Your real strength lies in your connection with God/Goddess and your Guides. There you will find solace, strength and inspiration. There you will find your Self.
This is the source of all real strength and power. All the rest is worldly and will fade. What you have come forth in this lifetime to experience and embody is to really understand and learn what it means to dwell in the Love of the “Embrace;” and by doing so you really will have gained strength and wisdom.
None of us can do it on our own. We are all a part of a wonderful Soul family that is here to guide us to a higher and purer expression of the unconditional Love of God/Goddess. It is all rather incredible and so magnificently beautiful!
Part XII of this blog entry will post on 06/20/07
This is Part X of a twelve part blog. Part I begins on 05/14/07. In order to better understand what follows, it would be best to read the previous parts.
So, your Guides are very essential in helping you to feel “connected.” And, with their help and expertise, you can gradually trust that you are held in the heart and hands of the “Embrace” and that you are really, totally and completely cared for and loved.
And then you can flow effortlessly and joyfully down the stream of your life. You can, as well, just slide on over to the passenger’s seat and let them chauffer you around. You can let go of trying to control your life and instead allow it flow to you. You can let go of your ego’s point of view and learn to now see with and through the eyes and heart of God/Goddess.
So, quit trying to control everything! You can’t and you never will. It is totally futile. Learn to surrender your ego’s will and accept and dive, instead, into your Soul’s will for you. Embrace and Embody Your Soul’s Wisdom and Soar!
It’s all about quieting the ego mind and connecting with your Soul. And when you do, you feel so strong, free and light. And then you always know what to do next because it is always intuitively, not intellectually, obvious what is for your Highest Good.
Quiet the mind and learn how to wait and intuitively “listen in” so that you can hear what is for your Highest Good and the Highest Good for all involved. For most of you this is a radically different way of functioning.
Most people try to control events and others by imposing their will on a situation. They do this despite the fact that the actions they take are based on all kinds of false assumptions and partial truths that their ego has “bought into.” And they do it all without any real due diligence; they just do it out of raw impulse or ignorance.
The mind/ego is meant to be a servant of the Soul. But we have turned it all around and allow our ego minds to be the master and we ignore our Soul. We only listen to our minds and we never “hear” our Soul. This is a recipe for disaster!
This is Part IX of a twelve part blog. Part I begins on 05/14/07. In order to better understand what follows, it would be best to read the previous parts.
Another aspect of this that I would like to discuss now is that it is so important that we have a strong, clear loving relationship with our Guides. Firstly, all our healing comes through a direct relationship with God/Goddess and our Higher Self. And it is our Guides who are so pivotal in this process of connecting us with God/Goddess and our Higher Self.
Our Guides know us better than we know ourselves. As well, they can see where are lives are going and can help us to make the best decision regarding any situation that comes up. They know what is for our Highest Good and, if we touch in with them, they can help us find the straightest and clearest path to our healing and awakening.
Guides even help create situations that will help us to grow. They are really there for us. They are a part of our “Soul Family” and really care for us. And, again, they can help us make the best choice for our growth in any given situation.
But so few realize that they exist and even less people realize how helpful they can be. God/Goddess did not leave us out here to fend on our own. There is an incredible support network available to us. We just need to open the channels of communication to them and, boy, oh boy, will our lives change! But if we continue to just listen to our little selves, we will end up missing out on so much of what is possible for us.
So, to create this connection, all you need to formally do is to sit and just “listen” for ten minutes a day. Yup, that’s all! Just sit and quiet the ego mind, connect and listen. You do not need to do it for hours and hours, really!
As well, as you go through your day, keep a constant dialogue going with God/Goddess, your Higher Self and/or your Guides rather than waste your time and energy ‘talking” with a bunch of surly, unruly, negative characters that just drain your energies and have no vision for your life. With God and your Guides, you can dream big and then live those wonderful dreams, but with your low-life motley crew all you get is more of the same, old, sad story.
This is Part VIII of a twelve part blog. Part I begins on 05/14/07. In order to better understand what follows, it would be best to read the previous parts.
You can’t solve a problem at the level that it was created. You must get out of your box—that is your limiting mindset. You must get out of your own way! And the only method to do this with is to learn how to see things through the broadest perspective possible, namely, through the eyes and heart of God/Goddess.
So, it is all about connecting with God/Goddess, your Higher Self and your Guides and it is in this way that you get answers and see the bigger picture. But more important than just getting answers and seeing the broader perspective is “feeling” a sense of “connection” with All That Is. This is “the key.” This is why you were created—so that you could embody and experience this ultimate Love and “communion” with all of creation.
And as you make this connection, you truly learn how to develop unconditional Trust in God/Goddess, your Self and your Guides. As well, you learn how to appreciate that everything is perfect in your life and in Divine Order and Timing. Life becomes a magical adventure rather than a fearful series of unknowns. You now enter into the mysteries of life and can trust and “Let go and let God!”
As well, you learn as you evolve through this process how to develop high acceptance of your circumstances and, as well, how to release your ego’s limited and limiting expectations. This, too, is another key to becoming a Master—acceptance, appreciation and letting go! Once you see the bigger picture this becomes so much easier.
So, lastly, to understand God/Goddess and to develop a relationship with Him, you must be like Her. You are made in His/Her image. You are a reflection of the Source that created you. Be like who you ARE and you will “know!”
The more of God/Goddess in your life, the less needs and voids there will be in your life. Fill up with God/Goddess and you will never again run on empty again or feel alone!
This is Part VII of a twelve part blog. Part I begins on 05/14/07. In order to better understand what follows, it would be best to read the previous parts.
So, in order to bring in these positive, life-affirming energies and for you to return to the Land of your Soul, spoken about previously, talk to God/Goddess all the time; and, while you are at it, feel free to talk to Her/Him about anything! Yes, anything--just as you would with a loved one or a very close friend!
Ask Her/Him questions and trust that you will receive a response. God/Goddess communicates through Love. And Love is everywhere and messages are hidden in His/Her countless expressions Love.
For instance, notice the beautiful cloud formations in the sky, or the warm gentle breeze or the smile of a child, or the beauty of a tree. All these are talking to you! All these are expressing God/Goddess’s Love for you and are answers to your questions, if you just know how to “listen,” if you know the “code.” All of creation is a gift of Love from God.
By contemplating the Love that is all around you, clear answers come to you--no, not through the logical mind, but, instead, through your heart and through the intuitive, non-cognitive right brain.
The language of God/Goddess is Love. If you want to hear God/Goddess and develop a deep personal bond and relationship with Her, you must learn “Love.” You must see Love, look for Love, be Love, become Love, give Love, open to receive Love. Then you’ll get IT!!!! Then you will be able to speak face to face! Then you will find the answers to all your questions.
Also, whenever you find yourself with questions about why you find yourself in a “challenging” situation regarding your relationships, health or wealth, you might want to ask your Higher Self the following question: What lesson is there in this situation that will help me to learn how to more fully and completely love and accept myself or another?
So, rather than trying to avoid the situations you find yourself in, this process will help you to learn how to face them, embrace them and then, after having done that, you will be better able to replace or transmute them. Just ask your Higher Self or God/Goddess to guide you and the keys and answers to your healing will be given. But you must ask and then “listen.”
This is Part VI of a twelve part blog. Part I begins on 05/14/07. In order to better understand what follows, it would be best to read the previous parts.
The best way, I have found, to bring in more of these positive, loving energies is to talk to God/Goddess. Yes, literally chat all day long with God/Goddess. You “chat” all day long with all kinds of other characters in your mind, why not make God/Goddess your primary companion.
At this point, I would like you to literally stop and ask yourself: Who are my primary companions?
Who are you talking to most of the time: your “little self” with all its fears and limiting beliefs; your “imagined” enem(y)ies; your long lost friend; a fictional character; a TV personality? Who are you talking to and why?
And, most importantly ask yourself, “Is this doing me any good?
Why waste energy on “someone” or something that is of no benefit to you!
Also, why assume that it is impossible to talk to God/Goddess and to have a personal relationship with Her, if you have never really tried it? God/Goddess, aka, the “Big Kahuna,” started it all and is certainly the most experienced at Unconditional Love.
So, the real question here is, why do you keep “looking for Love in all the wrong places?”
Go to the Source and give it a try. What in Heaven’s Name do you have to lose--a boring, banal relationship with projections of your “lower self?” Please take the time to slow down enough to notice the company you keep! And when you do, I can assure you that you will want to make a change.
We are meant to be a human expression of God/Goddess. So, why not embody that now? Why not come to truly know your Source? What a great way to spend your time and energy!
Also, if you truly want to build up your self-worth, believe me, this is the best way to do it. Just imagine having a personal, loving, uplifting, eternal relationship with All That Is, your Source. It really doesn’t get any better than this!
So, return to the Land of your Soul. Get back to who you are as a Soul—no longer identify yourself with your present personality and lifetime! This will help you to really ground yourself and bring more fun and freedom into your life.
This is Part V of a twelve part blog. Part I begins on 05/14/07. In order to better understand what follows, it would be best to read the previous parts.
Yes, God/Goddess made it simple to create the life you want and to release your negativity, but it isn’t that easy to change your old habitual ways of thinking and feeling-- especially since you have practiced them in many lifetimes and, as well, have had them reinforced by your family and by society in general.
So, this is all a process in which you gradually, like peeling off the layers of an onion, become aware of more and more of the layers of limiting beliefs and negativity that you participate in, and as you do, you gradually release them.
So, to most expeditiously facilitate this process for yourself, begin by becoming very aware of your thoughts.
What do you think about most? What do you worry about most often? What issue, situation, or person is most dominant? Also, ask yourself, what thoughts am I having that I can not let go of? Just sit and listen to yourself; you’ll be amazed at what you find!
This is no different than driving a car. In order to drive a car you must know how to start it, steer it, etc. and then while it is in motion, you must be very cognizant of where you are spatially and where you want to go and where others are relative to you. But you didn’t learn how to do this all at once. It took time. And what was initially a complicated task to achieve, namely driving a car, has now become routine and easy.
So, too, if you give the ruminations of your mind as much attention as you did the mechanics of driving your car, you will gradually become a Master of your thoughts, and, therefore, a Master of your Life.
So, practice raising your level of awareness with regard to how the negativity comes in for you. Also notice what thought patterns leak your energy and then let them go and bring in more positivity.
So, you gradually notice the patterns and then you gradually release them and in time you have created a whole new reality for yourself.
You do this one step at a time: “Inch by inch, it is a cinch; yard by yard, it is hard.”
This is Part IV of a twelve part blog. Part I begins on 05/14/07. In order to better understand what follows, it would be best to read the previous parts.
Your mind is the problem and your mind is the solution!
God/Goddess made it simple for you to get out of this trap where your mind is both the problem and the solution. All you have to do is to shift out of the fear, anger, worry, etc that you usually are focused on and instead move into trust and gratitude!
Shift what you place your attention on from negative to positive; and what you see and experience in your life will be radically transformed. You can change yourself, if you change your self; that is, if you change your thinking!
So, slow down enough to take the time to ask yourself the following: What leaks your energy out, what disconnects you from Source? And when you do, you’ll see that negative thinking is the culprit.
Negativity closes down your ability to receive the Universal prime energy of Love and Wisdom that is there waiting for you to tap into. It puts up a defensive barrier to all the pure positive energy that the Universe wants to pour into you.
Positive thoughts and expectations draw in this pure, positive life force energy through your crown chakra. But when you are in a negative loop, you restrict the flow of these positive, loving energies to you. You close the door to them, so to speak.
The experiences you have in your life are created by the variety of thoughts you have. Happy thoughts create happy and healthy experiences; negative thoughts attract and create unhealthy experiences. You get to choose.
So, too, different cells are created in your body by the different thoughts you dwell on. Happy thoughts create happy and healthy cells, negative thoughts create unhealthy cells. You get to choose.
So, it is very important to observe the limiting beliefs you have that restrict you. Take the time to just “be” quiet with your Self and you will see your patterns. Notice what comes up.
Ask yourself: What makes me lose it? What blocks me from bringing it all in? And then after you identify your energy drains, choose to let them go and then bring in more joy and love.
More about how to do this in the next blog post.
This is Part III of a twelve part blog. Part I begins on 05/14/07. In order to better understand what follows, it would be best to read the previous parts.
So many people get caught up in the details and minutiae of life and miss the bigger picture. Many see the dot on the top of the “i” but completely miss the “i” as well as the word that the “i” is contained in, least of all do they even imagine that there is a sentence, paragraph, chapter and whole book that that “i” is a part of. As well, they miss that the book is part of a library that is part of a culture, that is part of a planet, that is part of a solar system, that is..., that is …, ad infinitum…a part of…
We are so much more than that little “i” that we identify ourselves with. We are not the ego mind, we are the Self! We are the Divine Self!
So, I hope to help you to better see the bigger picture that the words above are pointing to through what I will be sharing with you in this series of blogs.
So, how does one learn how to love purely and unconditionally?
It all boils down to developing your own very personal relationship with God/Goddess.
As well, it depends on you developing a very direct connection with your Higher Self.
And the greatest tool you have to help you create this special, personal relationship with God/Goddess and your Higher Self is all your Guides, Mentors, Masters, Angels, etc—your heavenly crew of helpers who are there solely for this purpose—namely they are there to help guide you into a very deep connection, “communion” and oneness with your Self or Soul and with God/Goddess.
These Guides, Mentors, Master, Angels, Extra-Terrestrials, or whatever name or identity you want to give to them, really do exist and they really are here to help you—really!
You are way more powerful than you ever dreamed of, and have all of God/Goddess’s Love and Wisdom surrounding you in every way, wherever you go and whatever you do! That is what your Angels, Guides and Mentors want you to know and feel. You are not alone. You are not a “spiritual orphan.” You are a very powerful being who has a whole host of help at your side!
This is Part III of a twelve part blog.
This is Part II of a twelve part blog. Part I begins on 05/14/07. In order to better understand what follows, it would be best to read the previous part.
In order for any of what I will be sharing with you in this series of blog posts to “work” for you, you will have to not only suspend judgment, but also let go of trying to make sense of any of this with your ego, left-brain mind.
“All of reality is not thinking” as Carl Jung wrote. So, in order to get into these new realities, you will have to shift out of your old habitual way of receiving and processing information, that is by using your left-brain and shift instead into a whole new, non-cognitive, non-linear, right-brain way of “knowing,” receiving and processing information.
So, just let go and enjoy the ride! Allow yourself to enter into other realities--other dimensions, other paradigms, other ways of “knowing.” Let a whole new series of worlds open up to you—ones that the mystics and sages of old have been pointing to for millennia.
So, join me now on a magical, mystery tour into your Self and the world of Unconditional Love and Perennial Wisdom.
Ultimately, from my point of view, it all comes down to the following question:
What is my Purpose in this Life?
And, for me, at least, the answer to that question all boils down to learning how to Love, embrace, appreciate and accept myself, my experiences, others and the whole Universe unconditionally. My purpose in life is definitely not about acquiring, skills, power, possessions, positions, etc. It’s all about learning how to Love.
Of course, in the process of learning how to love unconditionally, you may, in fact, acquire some skills, power, possessions, positions, etc. But it’s not about any of these “things” that your life is really all about.
Actually, you don’t need any of the above “things” to learn how to love; poverty and misfortune can teach you the same lesson. You have your experiences simply and solely to help you, as quickly and permanently as possible, to learn how to love at higher and higher levels of purity and unconditionality.
This is Part II of a twelve part blog.
This is Part I of a twelve part blog.
This next series of blog posts can be read on their own, though they are a continuation of a theme that I have been developing the past month or so. In order to get the full context for what follows you might want to go back and read my blog posts entitled: What Does it Mean to Have a “Personal” Relationship with God/Goddess? posted 04/16/07 and Who are You Really Talking to All Day Long and Why! The Art of Mindfulness, posted 04/30/07.
If we take the time to become aware of it, we discover that we are constantly having some kind of an internal dialogue going on in our minds. And as I wrote in my earlier blogs most of it is repetitious, boring and usually rather negative.
What I would like to share with you in this next series of blog posts is how one can channel this previously mostly wasted energy of negative mind drivel into something very wonderful, life transforming and enriching.
Instead of spending most your energies rehashing old, worn-out scenarios or dialogues in your mind, why not take that time and energy to consciously and intentionally develop a personal relationship with God/Goddess, your Higher Self and your Guides?
I realize that for some of you the above statement, in and of itself, may seem rather absurd. But I ask you to reserve judgment until you have both read through what I have to offer and tried what I suggest.
Yes, I understand that many believe that a personal relationship with God/Goddess is either unimportant or impossible, but until you have taken the time to try it out, please hold off judging the proposition. [See my previous blog posts referred to above for more about this.]
Also, many believe developing a relationship with our Guides is also rather preposterous-- that any such relationship is basically a projection and not real. Well, that’s what I thought about it at one point, but as time went on, I began to develop a very real connection and communion with an incredible group of energies that was more “real” than real. I have no doubt that what I presently experience is not projection. It is very, very real.
As well, for me the concept of connecting with my Higher Self had also been one that was, initially, quite hard to grasp. It all felt so amorphous, ethereal and hard to believe, but, in time, I was able to learn how to shift into an awareness that allowed me to “hear” and “listen” to my Self, that is my Higher Self. And, boy, oh boy, it has been such a blessing and wellspring of incredible comfort, guidance and wisdom since then.

We were never meant to “wing it” on our own. We were meant to fly in a beautiful, harmonious formation together with God/Goddess and others. And this support, strength and clarity is there for the asking and it is very, very real.
But you must first let go of your belief that it is not possible or perhaps not necessary or not cool or in vogue nowadays to develop this personal relationship with God/Goddess. I am not referring to a relationship that relies on someone else’s rigid understanding of how you should do it. But on one that relies totally on the unique way you choose to do it!
For without a strong, personal sense of connection or communion with God/Goddess you will find yourself always “looking for love in all the wrong places.” As well, you are more than likely to be pursuing goals that are not really for your Highest Good. Also, they are likely to be goals that do not best express the essence and the gifts of who you are.
But you no longer need to look or wander aimlessly. The Way is there. Just look within. It is all an “inside job.”
It is really all about coming to “Know your Self.” For when you come to “Know Thy Self, you come to know God/Goddess.
When you look within, you are looking at a mirror that is simply reflecting You back to you. And then you begin to realize that you have been talking to your Self all the time. That You and God/Goddess are One!
You begin to realize that what is possible for you is truly infinite. You realize that the potential of the whole Universe has now opened up for you. And like a child you now begin to live each day in awe of the wonder and beauty of it all and you now really trust and know that all is well.
So, creating a personal relationship with God/Goddess is what it is all about. It is the real purpose of your life, of everyone’s!
“You must be a child to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.”
NB Please do think about what you have just read, just “feel” it; don’t think it and you then will “know” if it resonates with you.
This is Part IV of a four part blog.
This is Part III of a four part blog. Please see my blog entry of 04/18/07 for Part II.
So, if you want a real relationship with God/Goddess, you must develop one on your own by talking to God/Goddess daily—moment to moment even.
This is what I believe St. Paul meant when he said: “Be joyful always. Pray continuously. Give thanks in all circumstances.” With this attitude and in this way, you gradually develop your connection and relationship with God/Goddess. As in any good relationship, it takes time and consistency for it to really gel. But when it does, it is so, so special. And it is so unique and eternal!
Yes, you can ask others how they do it and follow some of their techniques, but ultimately, you have to figure out what works best for you and what your style is. You need to claim the uniqueness of who you are. And you need to truly feel a sense of connection, confidence and communion with who you really are and then you can claim your own distinctive relationship with God/Goddess.
And it is so, so important to understand that this is not just another relationship. This is the ultimate relationship of all your relationships. This is “the big Kahuna,” so to speak.
Your sense of Self, stability, love and strength all lie in your ability to develop this relationship. Without it you are lost and will feel alone. Without it you will try to fill up the voids that you feel within yourself with all kinds of dysfunctional behaviors and experiences. But you will get nowhere.
Without it you will try to get things done or accomplished in your life or make changes in yourself emotionally or physically, but will eventually find your self up against a wall, frustrated and confused that nothing seems to be working.
It is at this point that you finally realize that you were never meant to do it on your own. But that there is a profound wellspring of Love and support that is there waiting, patiently and lovingly, for you to ask for help, support and strength. And when you ask, It always responds. And all that is left for you to do after you have asked is to really listen and to pay attention to the response you get and then trust and act on the inspirations and insights that you receive.

So, if you want a real relationship with God/Goddess, you must develop one on your own by talking to God/Goddess daily—moment to moment even. And when I say here, “talk to God/Goddess,” I mean just that.
You actually talk to God/Goddess as you would to a real friend or a loved one. In time you learn how to communicate—that is, to be heard and to really listen. In time you really develop an ongoing, enriching conversation and interaction, albeit somewhat different than the kind you would have with another person. [In a future blog post I will say more about the kind of relationship you can develop.]
You’ll be amazed to discover what you learn about your Self and the world you live in when you develop a personal relationship with God/Goddess. By being in constant communion with God/Goddess, the most incredible gift you receive is the ability to see everyone and everything through the eyes and heart of God/Goddess.
This way of seeing is a completely different experience from your common way of perceiving things which is one that is limited by the narrow-minded filters and fears of your belief systems. Having this direct relationship opens you up to a whole new world. You get to see everything in a totally new light.
As well, by developing this personal relationship you become like God/Goddess. You become more and more fashioned in His/Her Image. You rise above your human, imperfect emotions, identifications and interpretations and instead see clearly and with the eyes of Love. You learn to accept and appreciate it all.
As well, rather than just relying on yourself to change or get things done in your life, you now begin to allow His/Her strength and Love to flow through you and that is when miracles can and do happen in your life. You learn that you are never alone and that together with God/Goddess everything is possible. You come to understand that on your own so little is really possible, but in partnership with God/Goddess all things are possible.
This is Part II of a four part blog. Part III will be posted on 04/23/07
This is Part I of a four part blog.
Well, a personal relationship with God/Goddess is just that—very “personal.” It is very unique and special. A personal relationship with God/Goddess is no different from any other relationship you might have with someone very close and dear to you.
In the most intimate and close of relationships—say that of a parent and a child--the mother of the child has a very different relationship with her child as compared to the relationship that the father has with the same child. So, too, the child has a very different relationship with each of his/her parents. As well, siblings have very different relationships with each other.
So, your relationship with God/Goddess is very, very special and very much a function of who “you” are. No two relationships with God/Goddess are ever or can ever be the same.
Also, (and this point is very important to understand) for the relationship to be a “real” one, it must be one that you, on your own, have directly with God/Goddess. No one else is listening in, no one else is involved. It is purely and privately your relationship—it is just between you and God/Goddess period!
There are rather antiquated and dysfunctional belief systems out there that suggest that you need an intermediary in order to have a relationship with God/Goddess. That simply is not true.
A parent wants to have a direct relationship with their offspring. So, too, does the child want to have a direct relationship with his/her parents. No intermediaries are necessary or wanted. Otherwise, it is not a relationship. It is not personal. It is not intimate. It will go nowhere.
Your relationship with God is literally like that of a child with his/her parents; it is not like the relationship of a mail room clerk with the CEO of a Fortune 500 company. It is personal, genuine, intimate and very satisfying.
